I love the solitude in the latest image. Very peaceful.

I have a bad habit of going one step too far. Because I'm full colourblind I tent to over colour or over alter the colour of my images. Lately I've been tempted just by black and white and skip the colour side of things, but every so often I have an image that deserves it.

I didn't think fuji was the only company to put a horizon on thier cameras. I guess it's one less step in editing. Although Lightroom 5 has some new tools to help.

Oh, I did not know that. I'm sure it isn't easy. You do have a great eye for b&w's, though. 👍

About LR, basically those tools already existed, but now supposedly they'll work well automatically.

Very kind of you to say so. To be honest I don't notice the colour blindness when editing until someone points out grass isn't neon or the sky wasn't supposed to be purple. I guess it makes for some interesting colour combos but not very realistic images.

Really love this too. I need to get myself to the coast for some landscapes.

^ The coast will always make for some nice photos, no doubt about it.

About the photo, I just wish the little chapel on the left would be upright... But at 15mm and being on the side, there are no miracles.

Anyway, thanks.

Furbies used to terrify me when I was younger. Great DOF. Also that landscape of the coast line is great. Makes me miss the coast when all I have is central America and bland rivers and lakes. I guess I'll try and make something out of it.

Oh, I'm sure central America has lots of great stuff to shoot. ;)

And yes, lots of people are afraid of Furbys. Especially the older models. :D

I like that a lot. I would have preferred a shallower DOF to isolate her from the background but its a nice shot.

Hell, no! :yuck:

Seriously, I consider myself a wide-angle guy, and the combination of wide-angle and big apertures make for some very nice effects, but almost 2000€ for a Nikkor 24mm f/1.4 (which is the focal lenght we were talking about) is something I don't think will ever happen. Even Samyang's (excellent) alternative costs 650€. And they're all huge!

Anyway, here's a portrait of the lightweight Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 Series E, taken with the Nikkor AI 135mm f/2.8.

Sorry, what does "depredation" mean?
Anyway, thanks... I think. :D

That shot is clean on so many levels.
That is until wfooshee gets here and says I should have moved and rotate the Kindle a little bit to the right, in order to be aligned with the sofa.

Anyway, thank you. I see what you mean about the fog. Hadn't noticed it before.

Hey, just because that body cap was twisted one time doesn't make me OCD!!!!!

(Although I do like pointing things out to people, just in case they are! :sly:)

I might stop sharing the little EXIF info, since I used to copy/paste it directly from flickr and they now removed that information (along with other stupid changes, if you ask me).

I haven't had a chance to have a look around yet, but I did check my pro status and for the time being it won't change, but come renewal its either pay for no adds or stump up the silly amount of money for 2TB. I might just go free from then onwards.

The stupid thing is that, supposedly, you have to decide until August if you want to remain "pro" or go "free", even if you have several months of "pro" remaining. Why, and what happens if you do or if you don't, isn't clear...

I can't understand how they make such deep changes without having everything clear and explained on a decent FAQ.

Well my pro was only renewed a few months ago so I'm not sure as to what will happen yet.

I was thinking of moving to Flickr, my stuff is on Picasaweb. Google made Picasaweb part of Google+ and changed the page layout, and actually removed the ability to link to a single image. (!!!!) I have since found how to get the original web interface with ?noredirect=1 added to the URL, so I'm still good on Picasaweb.

Another thing I was looking at, though, is Picasaweb has a size limit on the uploads, not sure what it is, but I was unable to upload full-size JPGs and have them available at full resolution if I wanted to link them.

No Flickr is going all weird on everybody???? *sigh*

They finally seem to have updated the FAQ section and everything seems to be explained now - although it's still a bit confusing.

It has to be said the free account is now looking very good. The only advantages now between pro and free are: unlimited storage, ad free and stats.

The problem is, if you weren't a pro member until now, the prices have skyrocketed. You'll have to pay $49.99 just to remove the ads and $499.99 (!) for doubling the space to 2TB.

Hey DB! Havent been here in a long while.... Posts #424 and #426 are stunning! Can't stop looking at those :) Where and what is that building in post #426?

Like always awesome pics.

I use photobucket, the infuriating limit there is they resize the pics to 76x lines or something. Otherwise I like it.
