^ Thanks.
I have to admit I don't like photobucket to share photos. I just upload there when I need a link to post an image somewhere else; stuff of less importance.

I really need to get myself to a beach some time, you're forever showing how good they are to shoot at. The drama of the clouds in #451 really looks good.

Love that black and white beach shot and that Nikon SLR is sexy. I'm hoping to get a Nikon S2 Chrome Dial.

I'm happy now Flickr have made it clearer on what is going to happen.

This is a very specific and special place, if I'm honest. It's already river, not sea, and the sky here always looks fantastic as this. The clouds are always low and dramatic and because the waters are more calm, there's normally reflections envolved.

Ah, the F2. Great beach photos. I'm still trying to get to the coasts this summer.
It's a FE. ;)
Thank you.

I'm still thinking if I'm changing to free or keeping pro, though...

And yes, the Nikons FE and FM are probably the most beautiful 35mm SLR cameras ever made, in my opinion. Especially the FM3A.

Oh and I want to see that S2. 👍

Have you ever thought of putting a book together? Or even selling these to the Portuguese tourist board. You sell your country very well.

That's very nice of you to say, Martin.

To be honest, that thought of selling the photos for the authority responsible for promotion of Portuguese tourism never even crossed my mind. Not that I wouldn't like to make some money with my photos - who wouldn't? I might actually make a small online portfolio and e-mail them. Thanks for the idea. ;)

About a book, the only time I felt like doing one was with my NYC photos. In particular, the ones taken from inside a bus. Do you remember those?
I really like them and I like the concept of making a mini book with those shots.
But anyway, everyone started calling me crazy, because they didn't see anything special about those photos and especially because they thought I had other much better photos to do such a thing - even from NYC.
And so, the idea just died there.

The S series rangefinders are beautiful cameras. 👍

I just realised I've been spending too much time researching old Nikons - I could immediately tell that it was a FE instead of a FM from the exposure comp. dial under the rewind knob... The FE/FM series aren't as solid as the F series (in fact, if I flick the bottom plate of my FM2 it sounds tinny like a can, on my F3 it's as if I'm flicking a very dense block), but I honestly prefer the lighter weight and the fact that it feels more like a Leica M in my hands. The shutter could wake the dead though. :P

Agree with Sprite about selling the shots to the tourism board btw, it'd be cool to have your hobby start to support itself over time.

Those shots look great Joao.

They would make a nice coffee table book.

@ Lloyd

the S2 is a striking thing to behold but the price for a great condition one isnt too bad around £700 but for a mint unused one about £1500 with the 5cm F1.4 lens.

Grays currently have an SP Limited Edition in black with the 35mm F1.4 for £7000!!!!!

Like I said before somewhere else, I'd love to own a rangefinder camera, so why not a Nikon? ;)
With time, an S may well be part of my collection.

This is exactly what divides me, when the time comes to get an F: the beauty and lightness of the FE/FM or the more solid and pro body of the F3?
Again, with time I'll see...

I'd love that, I must say. I'm not even talking about making a life out of it; just giving me something to buy new gear would be fantastic.

Glad you think that way. ;)

God, I want that...

Shameless bokeh whoring, I know:

1/500 | ƒ/1.8 | ISO 3200 | 50 mm

I don't know why I was at ISO3200, too...

Great minds, I whored a Bokeh shot in my latest update too

And doesn't it feel good...! :D

Here's a bit of architecture, for a change:

Nikkor Series E 35mm f/2.5

What memorial is that? They are good shots and I like the arrangement.

It's actually a chapel, literally called Chapel of Bones. Follow the link if you want to understand a bit more about it. I have to admit I don't care much about religious matters.

I'll just add that the chapel on the link is at the city of Évora, but my shots were taken at Faro. But the idea is basically the same.
I think they're the only chapels like these in Portugal.

Oh, and thanks.

Thanks for the info. I'm with you on religious matters, but some of the churches and ecclesiastical buildings look stunning and produce fantastic images.

I'm finding more and more that "35mm" is my focal length of election for walkaround shooting. It seems that it perfectly matches what my eyes see.

If only I could get my hands on a good, well priced 35 1.4 AIS... :grumpy:
