This is the shot that got me, I guess I'm just not used to getting this kind in my shots because of my usage of wide angle a-lot. Still, it looks almost magical.
That makes sense, actually.

That shot was taken very near the minimal focusing distance of the lens, so it's normal that it looks very creamy. Add to that the fact that it was taken at f/1.2 (on full-frame) and there's your answer, I guess. ;)

Light hax.

@phillkillv2 - the other bit helping with the creamy feel, I suspect, is the softer contrast removing any harsh white/black elements in the bokeh. And if I recall correctly, the lens itself is creating that low contrast feel due to the optical elements.

Regardless, the whole thing works because of an almost enviable retro feel to the shots. Which is the result of a very practiced eye.

I love that one with the bike, it also makes for a beautiful background for an iPhone.

Just thought I'd pop by here and say how much I've been loving some of your recent work. The bike especially. Reblogged a few other images on tumblr too that I've enjoyed.

Oh man, I want to see some rally action shots if you have any. Seeing that Citroen shot makes me wonder what they would look like with your post processing skills. Do you have any?

Oh, I wish...

This was taken a couple of days before the actual WRC Vodafone Rally de Portugal. I was just lucky to be on the right road at the right time and passed right by some of the WRC teams, which were "camping" on a gas station/restaurant zone, near the main road. They were doing small outings for testing or trials, I don't know. Pretty cool stuff.

Unfortunately, I was on work and only stopped for 5 minutes. I actually never really got to shoot any kind of motoring action. 👎
