GT Sport’s FIA Championship Test Season 3 Begins

Had great fun this evening with the first two races. Fair and clean racing. I'm surprised the community keeps that good spirit. There are always black sheep, i guess. But so far i had mostly good experiences.

I wonder about car balance, though. In Kyoto, 8 (!) out of 20 cars were Beetles Gr. 3 and four of them finished between 1st and 5th place. On the other side of the spectrum, the Huracan GT3 drives like the worst nightmare ever witnessed.

Volkswagen was part of the previous meta so lots of people are gonna try their luck with them now. The last Blue Moon race was quite horrible balance wise due to an overload of VW cars. I think I had 15 of them in my own race, and the 5 people who didn't use them ended in the back ofc.

I always have respect for the guys on the grid that drive unpopular cars, whether they are in the front or in the back. You should drive what you like and try to make your best with it. There's a certain charm in sticking to something that feels personal to you and then try to perfect it.

Im in the same boat. They changed the time for the Asia/Oceania races, moving them back by 2 hours. Where New Zealand could run at 10pm, the races now start at midnight.

I believe the change makes it better for India though. I wonder if they can add more time slots to compensate, or have a break in the middle of the 4 races to spread them out more for the time zones.

The inclusion of so many fantasy tracks in an FIA santioned events is slightly disappointing, but these races are excellent fun. I did very well in the last manufacturer race,

It's you. There are some variation in the cars performances, and will vary track to track, but I think they are all within 1 second of each other performance wise. So at worse, if the track doesn't suit your car, you should be no more than 1 second off the pace. It's probably tighter than that even. I think the worst GR4 car is the Toyota

Im 1 second off the pace exactly from people that i usually can be close or even better sometimes. I made a 48.3 with the type-f gr4 on dragon trail. The fastest of them in americas top 10, but 1 second slower than the genesis, ferrari, vantage.

Pretty sure he is in top lobbies whit aliens, so 1sec is a ton.

Started on Position 5 after qualiy. In the qualy in last corner i got already bumped out by intention by a french RCZ driver who used me as a wall to get a better time. He still failed to be in top 10.
In first corner how ever the leading 4 cars braked almost to standing and i bumped into the 4th car and got myself stopped to 10km/h while then got passed back to position 14 or 15. From this point on i was in a group with french drivers and typical for many of them from my experience they cant drive fair and keep using me and others as walls. I am in the B S Ranks so how the hell do these guys stay there?
I clearly was 0,5-1 sec slower than some of them, so why couldnt they just overtake me on the straight and i would stay completely calm. But in this race i was really several times about to crash these idiots out of the race just to get satisfied a bit by ruining their unfair racing.
I wish there was a report function with replay. To many players now know, using people as walls in sharp corners does not get penalizet enough. So they just do not care. Because online you can be the bit ch you are if there were no rules in reallife.
If only the leading cars could have taken the first corner without strange braking. The Race would have ended different...
I am in the Mustang for the 3th saison now and i love it. But it has a longer braking zone than others and doesnt like sharp corners.
And once more i saw the Renault Megan coming out of a corner very very bad and slow in the Replay and then overtakes 2 cars in the straight because it is just ridiculous fast on straights. Like last week in Bathurst. Noone could beat it by 1-2 seconds.

I was wondering if there was any real world reward for coming first from your region either at the end of the test season championship or the actual championship? I hope there is something.

In TS2 my best FIA finish was 6th and I got 411 points . Yesterday in TS3 I finished second in rnd 1 , and got 428 points? How exactly does the point system work.

So I started the 3rd Test season last night in the Manufactures Championship at Dragon Tail. I qualified poorly due to traffic getting in the way, even though they blow there lap yet some people feel the need to continue there lap in front of someone who is on a hot lap and happens more than once in a session. Anyways, now on to the race. I start in 9th but after a good start, by turn 4 I am in 5th place after making clean passes on the drivers in front of me by out braking and getting on throttle earlier and the grip was there. Turn 3 @ Dragon Tail can be tricky because it tempts you to put the hammer down coming out of it, but my 650S GT4 (Love this car) made it stick and made the moves cleanly. So here comes turn 5 and I get dive bombed and pushed wide. I get down to the hairpin down on the seaside and going into there I get rear ended by someone who was never going to make the corner without hitting me. So after hunkering down and fighting back I finish in a strong 4th and that's without driving recklessly. So a hard fought solid finish despite being beat around, right. No, I'm given a 10 sec penalty. I'm just frustrated the way this race went. Mind you this is in a race with all S rating in SR. People its not hard to be competitive without recklessly driving. I've noticed a lot of racers fold very easily when under pressure. I get it, I go for gaps too but you have to be confident in yourself and your car and know when and how to make the move without causing major contact.[/QUOTE]

Also this points system is gonzo. I finish first and have a clear race and it nets 240pts. Another race I finish 5th and get 380 pts. Not really sure how this system works and still no one can seem to give any answers about it.

Oh do I know the feeling, trust me. The worst was last night I got dive bombed and rear ended all race yet my driving is clean when I make passes. Yet come end of the race Im given a 10 sec penalty which takes me from 4th to 9th

People complained about the previous times.
I hope that a lot of people are still complaining. They have taken away my only chance to participate. Why don't they have 6 Events a day instead of 5?
Is there some official site where I can complain?

In that case the season is over for me, and the other daily races aren't as much as fun as the championship. Just spent 3 bills for a wheel, might as well sent it back.
Well it's still test season so it might still change. Let's complain that they change it back or at another start time!

It’s almost like most people don’t realize you can back out of a pass. If it’s not there just lift off and fall in behind.

I didn’t do either of the FIA races last night. But ran a couple of dalies at Interlagos. The biggest gripe I have, even in the cleaner races, people think they have the pass (right to the apex) as long they get avtiny bit of nose along your rear bumper. The last race I was in was nothing but Beetles jamming themselves inside (2 wheels on the curb 2 in the grass).

Could have had a win but ended up having to scrub a ten second penalty on the last lasp because of these idiots. Ended up losing 3 spots because I didn’t want the red mark of shame after the race.

Agreed.. People treat it like a "video game" IRL 90% of the maneuvers I see would not be attempted. Unless your name is Senna.

I think it’s based on your driver rating and maybe the safety rating. I won my fist race in season one whilst on the bottom ranking and scored less than 100. Now I’m B rating i’ll Score that even if I finish 10
