Well.. I think I finally have the file uploading correctly. Here is the NTSC replay from semifinal B. You might have to wait a few minutes as the upload connection I am on right now isn't the fastest.

I have to say there was some "interesting" driving by the team representing ICGTC today. I have some videos I took with my flip.

Should I post the videos in this thread, or in a separate thread? I will wait for WRP and Speedy to tell me on this one.

We've got your incident report and assuming we can download that NTSC replay for Semi-Final Lobby B we'll be able to view all the replays from all lobbies. If not, Speedy has the PAL replay for Lobby B.

No need to upload incident videos here in the thread.

Got it 👍

First of all congrats to Adam for getting 2 wins, great pace man, really impressive stuff. Congratulations to the PURE team, Brock, Welsch and Wardez for providing the overall support. (and a great live stream + commentary:lol:👍)

Race 1 was cool. A few mistakes here and there but we were just warming up for the final.

Race 2 was a b*tch. Brock and I got involved in incidents in the first lap but we did our best to gather as many points for team PURE as we could.

Very well organized and interesting event, well done WRP, Hydro and the rest of the 3D3 team. I look forward racing with you guys again in the future.

Very crazy race, just checked Wardez's stream at the start and noticed I wasn't on track. I wasn't purposely taking my time or holding out from getting on track. As soon I got out of settings I was in, GT5 just chose the wrong time to start messing up.

I was incredibly lucky at the start, everyone seemed to be going off and by the time we reached the highest part of the track I was in 5th. Things quickly went downhill from there though.. I will be compiling a report soon but let's just say I am on the same wavelength as Red here, there was some very dodgy defending going on. This really riled me and in my haste to get past, I kept messing up braking points and hitting Hydro, very sorry about that. I am willing to take a penalty for that behaviour, although I can't see it doing much good as I finished last.

All in all, well done on a superb race win PURE, and well done you 3D3 for organizing the event!

Great event guys , my team had a poor showing and believe me it isn't a true display of our talents .

None of us had any good track time on the track and we will definetely be more competitive in the next event you guys keep.

Looking forward to the next event , keep one soon !!b

As a spectator sitting on the sideline ... What an increadibly well oraganized event. I'm in awe you guys even providing live stream for the racing. It's very forunate there are people like you setting aside the time to set this up so people can have fun participating.

For the next event, I hope you will also allow non GTplanet teams to participate. I think the team aspect of the racing might be more interesting with the race results not being almost perfectly color coordinated. When the teams are more even, team tactics comes much more into play. I was in an event 6 months ago where one team had very sofisticated team tactics, and even if I was at the short end of the stick, it was a facinating experience.

Well done.

Thanks.

3D3 Racing thanks Wardez and Speedy for the streaming. The streaming was Wardez's idea in the first place so he should get most of the credit for that aspect. Not to mention he did an awesome job with the commentary which made it really interesting to watch.

Speedy had a ton of responsibility in Lobby B as he was the sole marshal, host and streamer as the other marshal couldn't stay connected to the room. A big thanks to Speedy for holding that entire bracket together even with the public that kept trying to drop in the lobby uninvited. 👍

Congratz to PURE for an amazing win. There are no *legitimate* complaints or incidents concerning any PURE driver except the disbelief that they could be so fast. Believe it! PURE drove exceptional in both races and especially in the final after recovering from the lap 1 incident (under review) and having to drive through the entire field. PURE will *definitely* be invited if we hold this event again and they are welcome to send their best. Other teams series can step up to compete or use the opportunity to learn from them. Study the driving on replay guys... that's what we're doing. :sly:

Also thanks to *all* the series and drivers that participated. I personally invited five series hoping that four would be interested. Wardez got wind of the concept and wanted PURE to also be part of it which I was very excited about. The fact that 6 series took part was just awesome. 👍 Regardless of any issues (or frustration with some on track incidents) I think the event was a great success and only possible because each of the participating series/drivers took it seriously. 3D3 is looking forward to organizing more events like this in the future.

As far as the GTPlanet requirement... we'll have to see. The 3D3 stewards are all on the OLR admin team here at GTP and our loyalty resides here. We'll leave our options open, but if drivers/series want to guarantee eligibility in future 3D3 events they can organize/join racing series here at GTPlanet.

:gtpflag:

Can anybody provide me with a PAL replay of the Semi Final (Lobby A)?
On this thread or via E-mail?

this event should be expanded definately amaging more than 10 teams competing man what an awesome but hard events for stewards it will be

WRP, thank you for removing the links. I was just coming here to remove them myself.

I went to the videos section and it was closed, so I couldn't edit out the videos. I did, however, go to the YouTube site and I deleted all videos.

I really wasn't that upset that I got bumped around in the first race, until it happened again repeatedly in the second race. I apologize for being so consumed with what happened on course.

I apologize to anyone in ICGTC I offended. I never meant to provide anything but videos from multiple angles. I feel nothing negative towards any one person in ICGTC personally. I just wish the respect given on course was mutual.

This will be my last post on the subject unless it is brought up again. I apologize to the organizers of this event. I thought I clarified my intentions of posting the videos before posting them. I did not post them here as requested. I just think no one was expecting how graphic the videos were.

I hope my un-enjoyable day on the track does not in any way mar the great event that it was. Great organization, and really awesome stuff with the live feeds with commentary. Good job Speedy and Wardez!

Will the finals results/decisions be posted today?
I'm very disappointed I couldn't watch the race(s), it seems like a second marshal could have potentially helped things run a bit smoother.

Surprised to be top WSGTC represented driver in the end, but the GTR just doesn't suit my driving style. Still enjoyed the event and managed to lead the final which was a good feeling.

No, we will not make any determinations today. In fact the deadline for alerting us to any issues was 24 hours which just now ended basically so our review process really begins now. And it's all in the OP. Understand we do have other series we participate in with races today and some we run that need attention as well, not to mention real life commitments. This was a huge effort to organize and we hope at least most of you enjoyed it... I know I did... but have some patience as we juggle our resources and time.

Final: 3D3 Racing will publish the preliminary results immediately following the final round, but those results will not be considered final until there has been a full review of all replays and an investigation of any reported incidents by race marshals. All reviews will be complete and the results final by Friday December 9th. Teams should each save their own replays and report any obvious incidents to 3D3 Racing within 24 hours of the event. Only obvious infractions will be reviewed and considered.

It seems like a second marshal could have potentially helped things run a bit smoother.

I think the general consensus was that the events went as smoothly as could be expected. Were there specific issues you had in mind that a 2nd marshal could have assisted with?

The biggest issue was having a public room and unwanted "guests". We expected 14 drivers/stewards in the room *by* the start of the drivers meeting (as stated in the OP) which would have locked the public out, but with NEPALII not showing up when expected that left an open slot and it was a big pain for Speedy to shoulder the load of constantly kicking people and marshaling alone.

And in the final with Remy backing out and you as replacement getting DC'd we once again had issues with public entry and somehow them not being able to read and understand "PRIVATE" and then not leaving when asked 10+ times. Finally Biffy got in the room and after taking *a while* to get on track he was invisible to at least a few other drivers.

I'm not sure a 2nd marshal in the room would have changed any of that.

What would have made a difference is using a private lounge. Next time 100% private lounges... no question or discussion about that.

Yeah but not everyone has open friends lists so we'd have to let people know of the change to lounge well in advance... which is now, so pay attention every one xD Clear up those old flings.

I was going to write a report but I just have not had the time today, so I guess I have to drop it. I'll just leave it that I was overly aggressive, and Arkano was overly defensive for me. No harm done, might as well just leave it in the past.

Please do keep in mind that I had to come in last minute with no practice though. I took a 'while' but come on, I wasn't even in the back-up list, I volunteered because WSGTC was a man down and a disadvantage. I had to buy a new car, oil it, buy the tires, all in 5 minutes. I had to sell a fair few of my cars just to get that GT-R. I was only changing my setup at the last minute because I would have been virtually uncompetitive with the default one. I know I wasn't the cleanest but I hadn't exactly been running GT-R's for the past two hours.

Sorry for poking my nose in. Why doesnt someone open a psn account by the name of 3d3 lounge. For example and then add the people who are aloud in. Then even if the said account isn't online, everyone can still join without random people getting in the way.

We already have one GTP_3D3Racing, but don't send a friends request there please as it's for exclusive use of our weekly series!

We decided not to use that lounge for this event becuase we went with the two bracket system and needed two lobbies so we went the public route. Lesson learned and next time we'll create as many private lounges as necessary: 3D3-1, 3D3-2, ... 3D3-N and get the friend's list set up prior to the event. After the special event we'll clear the friends list for the next event. Please nobody go out there and reserve these PSN ID's... they belong to us. (© 2011 3D3 Racing).

Not blaming you at all Biffy. We appreciate you serving as a Marshal for Semi-A (you did a great job) and being able to step in at the *very* last minute for team WSGTC in the final. That was a tough position to be put in for sure and I'm sure the team appreciated not having to run the final with just 2 drivers. Plus you being able to join saved us from having one open slot for the public the entire race... that could have been a real pain watching guys pop in and out for the entire race.

I was just pointing out that situation as something that didn't go as smoothly as possible, but couldn't have been prevented with a 2nd marshal.

The ironic thing is WSGTC is the *only* team with a confirmed pre-registerred alternate and ended up being the only team where a last minute sub was required... really bad luck for WSGTC with three events converging to the "imperfect storm": NEPALII doesn't show on time, Remy decides against running the final, CSL gets consistently DC'd. Maybe next time we suggest 2-3 alternates per team!!!

GT5 connections can be unpredictable *unless* you run a NAT 1 connection. Even then there are quite a few electrons that have to obey orders for everything to work without a glitch. Having 24 people in the event and only 1 DC is actually a pretty decent result considering.

Yeah Tim, I meant in the fact people couldnt have flooded in so easily. The chain effect of how that could have affected things is something Ill probably overthink. My internets completely out now for hours, hopefully its related to my dcs and fixed. Grammer on phone not easy - Very successful event, great work guys, Ive been enjoying your work in excellent 3D3 races, and look forward to future events. 3D3 does great things, in terms of fun online racing, you guys deserve the recognition. No worries on the results, hope you fared well in your race today, Marc too. 👍

Well, the race today didn't go so well for me... slightly better for Marc, but not much.

A result of complete brain burnout for me between organizing this Super GT Challenge event, practicing for multiple series at once and then trying to execute on track as a driver while at the same trying to coordinate things. And when it was all over having to deal with incident reports. All expected and anticipated, and it was a great experience that I enjoyed immensely, but it didn't leave me with much energy to put in to a night race at the ring.

Took a good break after the race and played soccer with my two young sons... that was a good refresher. 👍

But back to the challenge, it was really great to be on track with such talented drivers yesterday. I ran mid pack both races, but I'm still proud of the effort and the results for team Gamesta. 👍 I really want to organize something like this again in the future... maybe even figure out how to expand it a little. Hopefully there will be interest next time around.

Also, how cool would it be to have Wardez stream a couple of our other special events? Maybe he should put himself for hire by event promoters and quit his day job. Next time I'll slip him a few bills before the event to cover my car a little more often. On second thought I hope he didn't show my early or late laps in the semi-final. They were ugly, but the middle 16 laps were pretty good and the final was respectable.

If you decide to host this again, I'd up for using a Lexus and in regards to track, I'd vote for Suzuka ;) 👍

Thanks Dominic, much appreciated 👍

Unfortunately as Tim mentioned, our race at Nurburgring (night) was a bit of a bust on Sunday.
A bit too tired, and having little experience in night races (or driving at all), made it quite a challenge - one that I was simply not ready for :)
On lap 6 I spun (a few times) and after the last one I literally stopped, looked over at the map and asked myself "Where the h*ll am I?"
Lap 2 featured an epic crash between myself and Tim on the long straight, which is proof enough that we were a bit off.
Turned on my stereo, and had a fun Sunday drive to finish the race 👍

FYI to all teams:

All reported incidents have been reviewed.
We will post our final decision(s) regarding the incidents, and Final standings later today.

The 3D3 Racing marshals have reviewed all reported incidents and the following are our rulings which are final.

Semi-Final A:

Clean racing. No reported incidents and no penalties.

Semi-Final B:

One reported incident of over aggressive and/or rough driving was investigated and was determined to be a racing incident plus had no material impact on the final results (at least not on which teams were going to advance). Thus no warnings or penalties will be applied.
Final:

Incident on lap 1 involving IMMORTALPILOT of team ICGTC and two members of team PURE (timeattack and tony1311) was determined to be as a result of over aggressive and reckless driving by IMMORTALPILOT. IMMORTALPILOT and team ICGTC will be penalized 15 points for the incidents which equals one grid position (2nd to 3rd). Team PURE was most adversely impacted by these incidents (resulting in crashes by two of it's drivers), however since team PURE ended up winning the event we believe this 15 point penalty is sufficient. If IMMORTALPILOT had gone on to win the event after this incident he would have been stripped of the victory and the win would have been awarded to the next driver. IMMORTALPILOT will be put on warning that similar incidents in future 3D3 hosted events will result in more severe penalties including disqualification.

There were several incidents/reports involving Arkano6 of team ICGTC cutting corners to avoid being passed or to recover from a mistake (instead of following the proper driving line in the chicane). After reviewing the totality of the race, one or two of these incidents could be justified as a racing incident or an on the spot decision to avoid contact, but given it was a recurring pattern a penalty of 4 points (2 grid positions from 10th to 12th) will be applied. Arkano6 will be put on warning that similar incidents in future 3D3 hosted events will result in more severe penalties including disqualification.

There were several incidents/reports involving BIffyClyro of team WSGTC bumping other drivers and/or driving erratically or aggressively. After review these incidents were deemed to be driver error and not intentional and had no material impact on the results. Had BiffyClyro finished higher on the grid penalties would be applied but they will have no impact on the team or driver standings so no penalties will be applied. We understand that Biffy was put in a bad position having to fill in at the last minute, but it's team WSGTC's responsibility to have a driver prepared for the race. WSGTC will be put on warning that if they participate in future 3D3 hosted team-based events the team should make a better effort to make sure their primary driver line up shows up to the event or that prepared alternate(s) are capable of filling in on the spot without delay. We understand there were some mitigating circumstances beyond your control, but factors in your drivers' control also played a part.

All incidents not specifically noted above have been reviewed and determined to be racing incidents and/or immaterial to the outcome and will not incur a penalty or warning.

The overall team results/ranking remain the same after these penalties are applied. Looking at the totality of the race 3D3 Racing believes the now official results properly reflect the pace and performance of each team on that given day. The final points standings in the OP have been updated to reflect any penalties.

Congratulations to Team PURE

for the "official" win in the inaugural running of

3D3 Racing's

GTP Inter-League SuperGT GT500 Challenge
:gtpflag:

And a big thank you to all the drivers, marshals and streamers who took part in the event. We look forward to hosting follow up events in the future and welcome all the teams and drivers back again for our future events.

Thank You,

PS> A very special thank you to Speedy6543 who had no vested interest in any participating team and did not participate in the event himself (even though he's a darn good driver) but generously donated his time to host, marshal, stream and review incidents for the benefit of us all. Without him we couldn't have pulled this off. 👍 👍

Great job 3D3. Thanks to WRP, Hydro, Wardez, Speedy and the other Marshals. Great event.

Thanks JT 👍
It was a great event in the end, and I'm glad your team was able to run with us, and the other teams as well.

I'm really looking forward to racing against you again sometime in the near future 👍
I think I'm all "Spa'd out" for a while

Great job 3D3. Thanks to WRP, Hydro, Wardez, Speedy and the other Marshals. Great event.

👍👍

Being the success that it was, we could actually do this every so often but with a twist, giving a slight disadvantage to the top teams. The winning team, PURE (who brought it's fastest 4 drivers), and would have to switch 3 or 4 of it's drivers for the next event. 2nd and 3rd (ICGTC and Gamesta) would have to switch 1 or 2 of it's drivers. The other teams could field any drivers they wanted and make any changes to their driver line up.

Just a thought anyway. :D
