Awesome! I have a partner :D, we should get training, i'm sure some of the other guys will be very quick!

I know that Kingmart1n will be joining soon, so that only really leaves one place left as soon crooky gets a team...

EDIT: Kingmart1n has told me he is joining and has reserved a spot for his mate, which means Crooky goes to Lotus and so our Championship is full, so as soon as King tells us who this new guy is, we can start planning the date for our first practice race :D

Awesome!!! Practice is a coming

It sure will be :D, just as soon as we have confirmation from Kingmart1n's possible team mate.

Then we'll have a straight out battle between the English, the Irish and the Americans! Btw, just out of interest, where is everyone from? Do we have any Welsh, Scottish or European people here?

Yep, I'm completely out of practice. I think I only played F1 CE once since the championship. That said, I'll be faster than I was in the first half of last season simply for having the wheel with manual gears. I'm actually slightly worried though that I wont be as fast as I was at the tail end of last season :ill:.

Don't worry about it Shaggy, I'm sure you'll do fine. I mean, I wasn't amazing for the first three races, but then I picked up big time :D. With Fishfash not here, the main threat, I think, is Fastduck. I don't think he's unbeatable, but he sure does practice a lot!

Haha, yeah your improvement was akin to McLaren's this season quite honestly.

Btw, I bought the official playstation mag today and they had a small preview of F1 2010 and it sounds pretty exciting. Not a great deal of info in it but it's been mooted that 24 player multiplayer is a possibility and that the races in multiplayer can be as detailed or as basic as you want, that the settings will be very customisable 👍

Great to have you on board Shaggy, cant wait for the season to start now. :dopey:

To reply to your PM, the wheels been a curse in a way. Ever since I've got it I seem to be moving house every other month, so I've left it in my home place (whilst the PS3 has been dragged along with me) until things calm down a bit. This all means that I've probably only done about 500-1000 miles with it (mostly on GT5P). I might bring it down for this championship, but I'll almost certainly be using the controller for the first few races at least. But I'll be able to keep up on the lead lap, at least, with it. :sly:

:D, thanks Shaggy, it's always nice to hear compliments. You also made some vast improvements during last season. In the last part of the season you were nigh uncatchable, I really struggled to keep up!

It's great to hear some good news about F1 2010 since we still have to wait a year for it, but it's all good :)

Just so I don't get kicked out of the championship, I want to let everyone know I'm not going to be at home from tonight until next weekend.

Sorry guys, I don't play F1CE anymore.

Good luck to all, and remember it's all about fun and not about winning 👍

Kak, if you need any help with anything give me a shout.

Thanks All.

Hey Gyles, how are you keeping? Just wondering what driving games you've moved on to? No doubt you'll be loving Forza 3. Supposedly at E3, the Polyphony Digital guys from GT were watching the Forza booth with their jaws dropped.

BTW so what are the plans for the race schedule? 9PM on sunday should be fine for me too most of the time, but what's this about a second race? What night would that be on? And when will we start? Not this sunday but the following? If that was the schedule and we were only doing sundays I know I can definitely make the first 3 races, after then it just depends what way my work schedule goes.

That's a real shame Fishfash, but thanks very much. Haha, we can be like Michael Schumacher and Felipe Massa :D

I don't think a second race per week is a great idea tbh. One race a week made a good and eventful season last time around, so I have decided to stick to that. If everyone is okay with it I would like to begin the Championship asap by having a practice race this Sunday. This will be so that we can get used to close racing and hopefully avoid as many collisions as possible, although no-one is perfect. Some people may or may not be able to make this practice race, so there will be one the following Sunday as well. Once both of them are complete we can proceed to begin the season and with that I wish you all the best of luck :), let's hope we can have a great, close and competitive season.

Hey Shaggy,

I believe Forza 3 is out sometime in October of this year, looks promising. I have actually taken a retro step back and currently playing a few of my old arcade classics on the Sega Saturn and Sega Dreamcast

Oh, and I recently purchased Grid for the PS3, well worth the bargain fee of £9.99 from Play.com.

LOL 👍

I am really looking forward to Schumi making a return to F1 👍

So am I! It'd be great if he could pull out a win, or at least beat Vettel and Hamilton, not that there's anything wrong with them, but they are supposedly the young prodigies, so for MS to beat them might put things back in perspective.

Hi guys its good to be back. kakundoo i would like to change the team name to Red Bull please. And as far as i can say the team are in talks with bringing in a world class driver to join me so we have a strong line up.

Hey guys, I'm all for a practice this Sunday! I haven't played with collisions on in a while :scared: so I need the practice

Hold on, I thought you hated Grid? You compared it to Mariokart hahaha. I was just playing it online today which was good fun, but the single player doesn't have much replay value once you've unlocked everything and completed it. BTW, apparently the rubbish handling can almost be cured on the PC version, bizarrely it has something to do with the frame rate or something.

F1 CE is criminally underrated, I keep coming back to it and it's one of the first releases on the PS3. Really looking forward to this championship, I think it'll be much closer in terms of pace than last season. Kakundoo, Zeroduck, Hemiata, King and I are all roughly the same pace now I imagine. Plus we've got GT4genius back, I remember Joylessizzles being pretty quick and it sounds as if Crooky was a good driver back in the first GTP championship 👍

Most definitly Shaggy. I raced with JoylessSizzles and his race pace has really improved! He is certainly at our level at the end of last season. I haven't really raced King yet, but I know he's put in a lot of practice and GT4 is no pushover either, this will be the closest fight for the top spot I think any of us have seen! I feel slightly sorry for Rob, he hasn't much experience online, he used to be able to beat me on 05, but now I am a lot faster than him, and that's at his favourite track XD. Not that i'm mocking him lol, I just think he may struggle to keep up with the pace that is going to be set by the rest of us....especially Zeroduck :S

Oh yes, I had only played the Grid demo, it does no justice at all to the full game. The handling is arcadish though, but so far I am enjoying it 👍

I don't think i'll be available for practice tonight, i'll be spending some time with the wife.

Can we not start the season next sunday? I see no reason to have 2 weeks of practice races before the real thing, nearly all of us have raced against each other anyway.

If we get enough people turn up tonight and everything goes smoothly, then I will see no reason why the season can't start next Sunday. However, we do have some new people and it has been a long time since some people have raced with collisions on, so I am just making sure.

I almost forgot it was tonight myself, I got home at around 6pm and realised that practice was in 3 hours lol.

Wow, I leave to go to my brothers wedding in Newport for a week and this happens (plus awesome Gran Turismo news).
Good luck Kak, I might pop my head in at some point if I'm not too busy!

Fantastic race!

1. Kakundoo
2. HEMIata
3. Kingmart1n
4. GT4 genius (Joined after about 5 laps)
5. JoylessSizzles (Joined halfway through)
6. Shaggy Alonso (Joined with 2 laps left)

Fastest Lap: 1:31.080 - Kakundoo

And thanks Ardius, feel free to :)

Great racing guys 👍 It's hard to tell with just half the grid showing for practice but I think we might have a good scrap for the championship :sly:

Good race guys. Came 4th :D (yea I know 3rd last :(). But I'm not as rusty as I thought I might have been thankfully.

Somehow Hemiata leap jumped me in the final two laps whilst I pitted?? Did you have an incident early on and have to pit due to it or how come you didnt pit the lap after me? Just curious, I was sure I had 3rd after you dropped back at the hairpin on the 4th or 3rd last lap.

Sorry I couldnt stay for the second race, two new guys moved into the apartment were I live so I thought I better introduce myself.

I didn't play the race between Shaggy, Hemi and Joy, but the first race was great fun. I do agree Hemi looks very fast. But I think he made a few mistakes during that race, whereas I had a flawless race :D and to top it off, I managed to get the fastest lap on the very last lap!
I wasn't as quick as I have been around there in my own practices, and with Hemi able to do 1:29s, I should imagine Fastduck can do the same, this proven by me checking the Bahrain lap time rankings and seeing his best of 1:29.0xx, so unless those two make some major mistakes, it'll be hard to battle for the win at that track.

Yes Kak and I had an unplanned meeting  it took off my front wing so I had to come in on lap two and I tried to make the rest of the race on one more stop. I managed to coast into pit lane out of fuel on lap 11 and I knew it was going to be tough on the last stint :D I slowed so much on the last lap that I had to let King by and I still ran out of petro on the front stretch and could not coast across the line :ouch:

You had me looking in my mirrors and I started missing my marks :banghead: I won't make that mistake again :sly:
