I wish we had enough people to do this in someone's lounge, not in a public room.

Me too. I love racing against a full grid. You want to overtake the guy in front of you but you have to protect your position at the same time. There just isn't as much action with 4 of us in a private lobby.

However, I think 16 is still too much for the game. I was getting significant frame rate loss at GP/F. I don't think I was losing grip/speed but it really messed with my confidence.

How are people feeling about the tournament rules? 0-ballast, 1%-engine? Are there enough cars to choose from?

I know I could just run the RX-8 if I wanted to dominate, but I would rather pick a less popular car. The RX-7 had decent speed but it needs a lot of tuning. I was really surprised that I had to run significantly more rear camber than front camber. I might expect that on a 911 but not an RX-7.

Yeah the pubbers ruined it for me last night. I was trying some new setups with different cars for the tournament, just to see how I would compare pace-wise. I couldn't really get a good feel for it with that many cars on the track. Plus most if not all of them were pretty sloppy drivers. I ended up dropping back by 30 seconds each race and compared my pace with the leaders that way.

I was already pissed off at myself after trying the 600pp seasonal in a stock C6 Z06 for an hour before that and not being able to beat my time of 2:18.445. The gold time is 2:18.400.

I hear ya. I was tweaking that RX-7 all night but the only race I won was the race I actually held my qualifying position for. Daytona. I qualified 3rd and couldn't get an edge on the two cars in front of me. I got a break on turn 1 of the 2nd lap when the two leaders went wide I stayed inside. Watching the spit times it looked like the only place I was losing time was the bus stop. I'm usually pretty quick through there but the RX-7 was all over the place on high speed turns.

I'll run a few more practice sessions this week in my private lobby. Send a friend request if I removed you. (I really wish there wasn't a limit to the number of friends you can have). I'm digging Nurburgring GP/F as a test track. The first sector quickly reveals a car's overall grip. The Schumacher S can be taken flat out in a quick car, and the straights are about average in length. The only inconsistency in my laps is the final chicane. It's hard to get it just right. For lap times, 2:15-2:16 is great. 2:17-2:18 is good. 2:19+ won't be competitive.

We don't. It will have to be on faith...but everyone here knows which cars won't make the 450pp cut when ballast/engine reduction isn't allowed.

The pubbers are just fodder. A few of them aren't half bad racers...but most brake too late and don't know how to pass on the inside without pushing someone off the track.

Look out, someone hacked grenadeshark's account!

Nuh Uh. I just stopped playing. No good reason why. I started playing Eve then some world of warcraft. Also tried out forza 4 for a while. Never really got too deep into it as I didn't have any friends that played and the community isn't what it is here. I'll be back very soon. Possibly next week! I gotta get my game back on!

Who all is still around that I would remember? It's been about 6-7 months or so.

The Eve community is huge. It is no wonder that an MMO that old continues to win players' choice awards.

I wish Kaz had that mentality and didn't just seek to satiate the console jockey fanbois.

Ill be on this weekend or next week. I probably suck now, but then again, that's not all that different then before.

Oh yeah about transmissions. The latest patch has a new info button on the transmission screen. Click on it and it will load up your transmission thread.

LOL, J/K. But you will be surprised at the changes they have made. Most importantly, tire wear is much more aggressive. You can barely get 2 laps of Nurburgring in on RS tires now. Sport softs weren't affected too much but if you spin the tires you'll see a notch taken out of your wear bars. The physics model has also changed slightly so you will likely have to go back and retune your favorite rides. Let's see, what else? Weak draft setting for online racing and other options for configuring a lobby like disabling ABS or disabling tuning completely.

We're going to celebrate the 1st aniversary of the 450pp club with a tournament. It wouldn't be the same without the Green Goblin.

Can I used an NSX if i have one on real life????👍👍:):)

By real NSX you mean DeLorean Muscle car right?

Make sure you have your transmission spreadsheet ;)

Wow, you would think 6 months would allow some people to forget things... NOPE

One of the other reasons I quit was my internet connection was **** at my new place in Kansas. I just got that under control about 2 weeks ago after probably 6 technician visits. I was so mad after d/cing in a tourny I was a contender in. Ended up needing a new box outside, a new modem inside and new line. Also, I had an electronic device on the line causing interference that I took off.

I worked on transmissions for a week recently...(made some nice find).I would like to try that against your ( Idea ).

d/cing still happens. There was a real bad period through Dec-Jan where everyone was having trouble. It's gotten much better recently though. Just gotta keep the lobbies to 12 or less it seems.

I spend time here and there but only when I'm having trouble with a car. If a car has otherwise good grip but is slow down the straight I will eliminate 1st gear and tune it at a 2nd gear ratio. The car will be slow off the line but it will give me an extra gear to work into the mix. This is almost mandatory on cars with 5 speed gear boxes. For some of those tail happy cars, I've had good luck running extremely tall low gears to force the shift out of the power band. They feel sluggish but post better lap times than trying to modulate the throttle. That's what I was working on with the 240z last night. I finally got some good ratios but now I need to go back and start from scratch with the rest of the settings that I was mucking with while trying to fix the oversteer.
