What... what is that?
That's kinda awesome!
MOOORE!!!

It's a modified F1 car from the early 90's, it raced in a cup called Interserie, a cup in which there was no regulations apart from a maximum budget.

Often you'd see F1, Group-C and LMP1 cars all battle eachother at the same time, this was great as already Group-C was a tough rival for F1 cars outside of Interserie with the lap times.

I enlightened myself on it last night, made me want to jump on GT6.

It's probably going to get some hate, but I think it's gorgeous.
That actually looks like it'd be useful in multi-class endurance racing.

Wasn't the 961 a one off model?

Yes. It was built for Group B circuit racing but once it became apparent that Group B was heading exclusively towards rallying, they cancelled the project after just one car. It raced in the "GTX" class instead.

Subaru Rally Team USA. Also, they have a brilliant Rallycross paint job:

And finally the old Puma paintjobs. They were instantly recognizable:

No, there was one which raced in Le Mans in 1986, and two in 1987. A couple of them did Paris-Dakar runs in '87, as well. Sadly, one burned to the ground at Le Mans in '87.

That's a car which could have had a phenomenal racing career, had there been a real series for it.

I'm gonna hang on to this thread for PCars (pc) and make horrible attempts at re-creating some of these beauts.
