If you want to try for a Gold with something different than the Suzuki, give it a try it with the Toyota MR-S, Oullim Prototype, Hyundai Clix and the Toyota RSC. I managed Gold with all of them... Granted they weren't great times, but I didn't spend hardly any time setting them up, so I'm sure they can all go a good amount faster.

Went round for an hour or so. Probably done here, got 1'19.493. Used a Z34 with wing (20), weight 1224 kg, 381 bhp, standard diff, fc transmission (260), conservative suspension (lowered 1 cm), no assists.

first i tried my S2000 but only managed to set a 1:22.1 but id pushed the thing to its max, so for first time on GT6 bought a GSX and set a 1:19.5 but looking at other peoples times with the GSX and there 5 seconds faster then mine, so there's still room for improvement. anyone know a good setup?

The refined set up I posted for the GSX is capable of low 1:16's At least.
with a good setup i this the ZZII would do 1.15 with ease.
@praiano63 tune is the best general track tunes for that car, and it doesn't take much to turn it into a TT tune

What I am actually the most worried about is that PD is seeing that an enormous amount of players achieve gold with a very large margin, and then "fix" this problem by making gold much harder, and in turn almost impossible to get by most players without resorting to the GSX.

Yeah that is a possibility, or they could do the right thing and nerf the GSX but that won't happen. They could do a very simple thing make a concept category for the game and move all concept cars to it and take them out of the road car category. A lot of little things details are broken in the game this is just one of car too many to mention nor is this right thread for that rant.
I don't think they will make the gold harder to get as this is has been pretty normal for any challenge with one total dominate car, the dominant car beats the gold by a large amount but there is large variety of cars that can get gold and do so fairly well.

I like to avoid GSX-R, so I used @SW__10 NSX-R Prototype LM Road Car tune for 1'20.5xx for some good (times) fun. I believe it was a QM trial mountain tune. I will check and link if need be. Thanks again Grand Master Flash SW. I love all around setups. :)

My first thought was 'oooh GSX-4 incoming' - that's why I dindn't use it. 1'21.968 with Impreza 22b for the time being, but could be better...

any Skyline GT-R would probably be easy and good in here.
What tune are you running on the 22b? That is my favorite car in game, hands down.

All this hating on the GSXR and 2J started in the GT5 seasonals.

These cars were notoriously hard to come by as they were an extremely rare occurance in the UCD.

Now you can buy them at any time, it's all good as far as I can see.

Ok, they are the stand out cars, PP wise, but I actually like the Suzuki and if it wasn't around another car would take its place anyways.

If you want to try something Asian and fairly good for the PP classification, try the Dome Zero (1.19s) and the Mazda RX500 (1.17s) - both concept cars btw

I will post it later if you want (don't have access to console now) but it wasn't the best one tbh, had to try a bit harder than usual to get gold. I'll try to fickle with it and see if something could be improved, then I'll post it :P

I dare say the GSX-R seems to be the quickest choice for this TT. I have tested a few different cars. The Honda NSX R '02 is the quickest for me so far (1:18:200).. Surprisingly, the premium Mazda RX-8 is not much slower. It may prove quicker with some testing - especially when you consider its initial PP, and the options of stage3 NA ,supercharger, or turbocharger. I'm not proposing it will outrun the gixxer, but it might be fun to see how many other peoples GSX R's you can outrank!
