500PP Classic Muscle Car Championship

I was hearing that depending on what car you beat one of the races with puts a classic car in the UCD. For example my buddy beat the Daytona race with a Cuda and in his UCD after the race there were 2 Chevelle's. He then did another one with a Corvette and found a Cougar and GT350 in his UCD. Has anyone else noticed this trend, if so, has anyone found Cuda's in their UCD.

That's just a coincidence.

Just couldn''t find any enthusiasm for this particular seasonal, so I used the Chappy 2D for easy wins. Only after I'd done them all did I realise I was running on Comfort Softs for God only knows what reason.

Managed to win Cape Ring at 400pp with my Corvette Convertible C3 '69. I can safely say this was one of the hardest challenges I ever met playing GT5.

I had to practically manhandle a 1.7 ton beast through the swaying AI traffic at high speeds, and I only had 201hp to play with. Life would had been much easier if only the AI would stay in place or respond to the actions of other drivers.

I believe if I push hard enough 395pp is possible, but that's a challenge for another day.

Can I get your tune for this?

I got my standard CamaroZ28 pp down to 397 on Cape and I'm not gonna even try get lower..It's prety challeging :) (Since I'm not good at racing )

Edit: I used Praiano's tune on suspension 👍

No sure what to think of this seasonal:
ran a Shelby Cobra at 500pp at Daytona and lapped the field completely, first try. Probably had 50mph on everyone...👍
CapeRing was a bit more of a challange for me and broke out the Z-28RM to spank'em hard.
Went to Laguna and only made it to second with the Z28RM @500pp, so after several attempts always at least 4 seconds behind I thought I'd bring out the big gun GT40...WRONGO. Could barely get the thing around the track, seemed to be seriously pooched in terms of handling...and got its butt handed to its even on the straights(seriously out accelerated by everything and geared for 150max!). Don't understand because I've driven the various GT40s and found them to be easy and forgiving to drive. Really hate to bring out the Chappy:tdown:

does anyone know if the Corvette Z06 (c2) Race Car can be used in this seasonal?

I try cape ring now with Camaro at 420PP
I also find which pipe sounds better
$995,919 @ 110%

Fellow track-fiends who are just average drivers (aren't most of us?) and have a sizeable muscle car garage will no doubt eventually find the right car to win at Daytona and Eifel, but will experiene some difficulty with Madrid and Laguna Seca, especially against the Corvettes. I even tried the race car model ('63) and the GT 40 (69) with limited success on these two tracks.

The solution: go to the Chaparral 2D ('67), "old reliable", reset the PP and you will almost certainly improve your times. You will probably need 1:35 laps at both Madrid and Laguna Seca, but it's doable. For the point-crazed enthusiasts here, just turn down the PP and the money will roll in...

The 2D does not show up as a participant in any of the races, yet there are no restrictions against using it.

Agree, the 2D was a dream and managed 1:34 s at Madrid, need to average 1:37 . Any car can win Daytona by buying the custom gearbox, set for 270 kph, stiffen and lower the suspension. Flat out all the way round.

Really fun seasonals, I'll have to admit at first was really frustrating, trying 500pp car after car, but then I tried a Ford Mustang Mach I, supercharged, full suspension, lsd, ect, no actual tune - I love that car, I'll admit, I was still at 500pp, but I'd be winning by only a few seconds, and often its that guy at the front (probably depends on your luck with the grid generation), but I'd pip him at the very last corner, great fun.

But I'd want to win all of them with less pp, not just Cape Ring to earn a quick million or two, because if you want credits, may as well do that Prius trick from a few seasonals back, you can get something crazy like 4 million a go with 200% I think.

Managed to win Cape Ring at 395pp. Unfortunately, I gave GT5 a miss for a couple of days and my login bonus dropped to 150%. Still, even with 150% I managed to get a 1.3 million payout and lotsa fun out of it.

Car was seriously underpowered :nervous:, had to pull off all the tricks up my sleeve to catch up in the corners.

I believe Prius on Cape Ring was 2 million for every go, IIRC. Hadn't played that event for a long time.

Another money-farming event is the Eifel F1 event. 4 million+ for every 11 minutes or so.

Yeah you're right, looked up one of my images, I managed a 1.93 million somehow.

Btw, I'd also really like your tune for your Stingray if you could please.

Sure, just that my Corvette is actually the Premium Convertible version, and not the Stingray, unfortunately. But yeah, I have no problems sharing the tune.

I used Praiano's tune for the suspension, brake bias, and LSD, found here: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=5446995#post5446995

After which, I flipped the transmission by setting 1st gear slider to the extreme right, then the Final Gear as well, before setting the top speed to 200km/h.

Then, set weight ballast at 200kg, and weight distribution to 50-50. No aerodynamics. That simple.

I've finally nailed all of the races. Used a Chap' 2D for two of them, as I had flogged into 2nd with most of the eligible cars by then! The Daytona is winnable with a variety of cars as is Cape Ring Outer and Eifel. BUT Madrid and Leguna Seca has a rabbit down the road, or had every time I ran it, even getting to 6th by the end of lap one saw me 20+ seconds behind the rabbit and no and chance of passing him or the others in the remaining laps for this poor driver! I managed to win the others with several different cars. So out car the trusty 2D with gearing tweaked for maximum punch out of the slow corners, top speed dialled bang on maximum reached in previous runs and ratio spread optimised for the circuit. Lovely car, one of my favourites.

I've been trying the '71 Mustang Mach 1,modded to 500PP,but I'm stuck on Leguna Seca.Best finish has been second.I love driving the Mach 1 , but I'm going to change to the '69 Camaro RM next.Fun seasonal ! 👍

I'm using a '69 Camaro Z28 Premium with my COPO 9560 tune powerlimited to 500pp 1528kg no aero great fun on Madrid now:cool:

Z28 Camaro non-RM for all of them. Supercharger to get the power up and custom tranny adjusted for top speed. I found it goes really well with stock suspension, no lsd and no aids except ABS=1. It's like driving a big old boat but great fun. Madrid was the toughest followed by Laguna. The others were easy with plenty of scope to lower the PP.

I'm having problems with Madrid keep getting second I need more practice on that track I'm still having a blast YAH!!!!!!!!! Muscle Cars Rule!!!!:dopey:

Used a premium Camaro Z28 de-tuned to 404pp.

Stay 4 seconds behind #1..maybe need to practice a bit more...
Anyway cashed in a ~750k for doing 3 funny laps.

Second time in two days this friggin event has frozen after finishing at Laguna Seca!!!!

I had a lot of trouble with Madrid but what did it for me was in the tight sections keep blipping the throttle to keep the revs up and the back a bit loose, like a drifting technique but never going so far as to need opposite lock. It helped me keep a tighter line and faster exit.

These are challenging if not almost unfair at times! Won Daytona with a heavy stock drive train Challenger. Next two tracks had to switch to a lightly modded Z/28 because on Cape ring, got my arse handed to me with the Challenger and I still have yet to come close on Laguna

I'm still stuck on Madrid, what happen to 5 laps I was 1 sec behind the vette:ouch: I just finished Eifel a photo finish '69 Z28 CPU/'69 SS me I'm making the pic my avatar
