This event will have the civic completely stock with no tuning correct? Will people be allowed to use srf? Or just the other aids?

Long story short, Everything is allowed. However, if you are a driving prodigy, I ask you don't use SRF.

You are correct, the car will be as it is when purchased, with an oil change. It should come in at 214bhp/414pp(I will double check my numbers when I get chance).

If you are interested in taking part, I'll send you a friend request. All I asking you race as clean as possible (we're only human afterall).
My lap times around Apricot Hill are about 1:43 currently, if you want a benchmark. I'm not the fastest, but the racing will be fairly close.

I all for clean driving, and I'm not any sort of driving prodigy, but I wouldn't plan on using srf either. I just wouldn't enjoy seeing a bunch of people that are already fast using it to be faster. If I am available when the time comes I would like to join. So i guess i am a maybe/probably.

I haven't ever planned a calendar this far in advance before. I don't expect these dates to change, however, real life comes first.
See you trackside 👍

Hi, and welcome to my concept.
My idea is to provide a space for casual racing, for fast and slow, n00b and pro alike. The focus will be more camaraderie and embracing your own personal challenge. Mine is to just become faster, regardless of the car. Yours might be to try some longer races than the 2-3 lap races usually held in the open lobbies.

Still reading and interested? Then I'll continue.

At its core will be 500pp races (like the title says :dunce:). However there are some rules and regulations. Here they are:

  • Any production road car 2.5 litre (2549cc) and under.
  • No concept, race, rally, RM or tuner cars allowed.
  • Tune this car to 500pp any way you like using no more than 5% engine limiter
  • Sports Hard tyres only
All driver aids are allowed.
If you are more a more capable driver all I ask is that you be reasonable and start to turn them off

Lounge settings will be, unless otherwise stated.

  • Damage set to heavy
  • slipstream to weak
  • Grip to real

That's it. Still interested?

These races will be held in my personal lounge and operate on a "First come, First served" basis.
Usual lounge opening times are 20.00 GMT/BST
Qualifying starts 20.30 (sooner if everyone is there and ready) for 15 minutes, under an auto start timer. Reverse grid will be used, to give the faster drivers some traffic, for the early stages of the race at least.
Races will last approximately 40-45 minutes.

If you do want to join a particular race then state as such in this thread and I will hold fire on the evening if you aren't there to give everyone chance to race together. If every reasonable attempt of contact with said individual fails then qualifying will start at 20.45.

If this sounds like it will get stale then I have a fix for that too. Every 3-4 races (don't hold me to that) there will be a no tuning race using a pre-selected set or one model of car.
For example

"Group C cars" at Cicuit de la Sarthe on Racing Hard

Ferrari F40 one make race at Grand Valley Speedway on Sports softs

Still here? Still sound like this is for you? Embrace your own personal challenge sign up in the thread below and I will take it from there.

Seeing as it's two weeks from the race, I will begin to create a register of who to expect on track.
Here are the details once again, with some additional information.

Long time member, not really a poster since losing interest in GT5 back in the day - was a member of another race group (gt5-online if anyone remembers it) but it disappeared into the ether.

Anyways, to get back on track (excuse the pun), I'd be interested in participating in this. Historically I'm an okay driver who is only recently coming to grips with adjusting TCS to 1. Furthermore, the biggest change I'm undergoing is moving from automatic to manual. Haven't yet looked at no longer using SRF but is ultimately something I want to go for.

Again I'm rambling - would like to be included in this if possible? Don't really have any GT6 friends so any additions would be greatly welcomed (if only to measure myself against others on TT's etc).

Cheers

Friend request sent, see you on the 25th 👍

Most likely wont make the race, got 2 reasons:

1) I try to avoid all standard models, driver view @ all times!
2) I'll be drunk as 🤬, my uncle is celebrating his 50th.

I'll have a go at Apricot Raceway sometime over the weekend and try it without SRF to see how I get on - ideally I'd like to participate as others do, most of whom I assume are not using SRF.

Will accept the add when home tonight and maybe even see you on the track before the 500PP race.

Thanks for letting me know. Enjoy the party 👍

Just to make 100% sure, this civic race on the 25th is a no tuning race. My civic comes out at 214bhp and 414pp with an oil change. I've seen a friends civic come in at 224bhp and 423pp :odd: but I think that is because he uses srf, also the only person in 500pp club to do so currently.

If your lap times are around 1:41-1:45 you should be fine.

Had a go in a stock Civic (only available in white???) with SRF off and was managing laps between 1:42 and 1:45 after getting used to it so nice to know I'm hitting expectations :)

Sounds like fun. I usually only host 500pp rooms. Please send me a friend request and I'll be taking part. Thanks.

Only a few more days to go before this year's seminal race. Here's hoping it goes well :nervous:

I've sent a friend request to you @Tommy L.
Slalom, mewla999 and tommy L still have pending friend requests as of writing this post. As always, please keep me informed if you will or won't be coming along.
I will try to run a final practice/familiarisation session on either Wednesday or Thursday if people are interested.
I expect to have Saturday's race lobby open at 20.00 GMT with a qualifying start of 20.30GMT. If everyone on the above list has turned up or said otherwise.

Apologies to all if they expected me to hold a practice on the last couple of evenings. I was unable to convince my better half to allow me to re-arrange my living room.
However tonight she has given in and I should have a lobby open at about 20.00 GMT (about half an hour from now). Hope to see you there. 👍

Less than 12 hours to go :scared: last night's final practice session saw the barrier to 1:39 broken

This race will be at dusk, so expect a change in the lighting throughout the race.
Just for you @GTP_ADE

What time GMT is your race tonight? I can't seem to get the time conversion right. I'm out of work today at 3pm my time central USA. I think your racing will start before I get home but would like to race with you all if I make it home on time. I think you are 6 hrs ahead of me. Maybe the next race if I am off. Have a good race.
