You picked this trackJust a thought but shouldn't we at least have one practice session before the race this weekend? Just a light bulb moment I had lol
I don't mind the revers grid, I wanted a restart because I got damaged badly by others and someone parking mid corner at druids. Repairing damage lap 1 nets me a 1-2 sec disadvatage per lap and faster wear due to the tyre bug, lap1 is still an excellent point to restart. I'm fully aware that there are slower drivers ahead, I'm much more patient than most as I never try to force myself past, but even I get caught out when someone is extremely slow mid corner and doesn't drive a predictive flow.I've finally got around to putting in some track time at materhorn. My first impression is,
it's very narrow.
With this in mind, I'm thinking of using a fastest first grid. That way we hopefully shouldn't have the first corner issue that caused a restart last time out and when it does get to faster drivers coming to lap/overtake, the field should have thinned and make that overtake safer for all concerned.
Damage will be heavy
Track time will be 11:50 (default)
Time progression set to 1.
A note to the faster drivers. PLEASE be patient with your overtakes of the slower guys. This appears to be a very demanding track.
My best time is 1:52, to give you an idea of what I have managed but I am aware of times of 1:43. I spent most of my session facing the wrong way
Only you will know how you stack up against these times.
Please let me know your thoughts on the normal grid.
So in essence I'm still for the reverse grid start, on tighter tracks more patience needs to be shown. You can pressure people into mistakes quite easily (happens to me all the time)....
Anyway, onto new business. As you know @weescotman gets choice of next race. But this time it's a little different. His choice is between two pre-set combinations of stock spec races.
Option 1, Honda NSX Type R '02 @ Suzuka
Option 2, Mitsubishi Evo X '10 V's Subaru Impreza STI sedan '07 @ Tsukuba with variable weather.
Pretty much all of the above. There's only one choice really! Let's go nsx-r suzuka. No 4wd please, it's too easy then. And does that mean we can't even play with the suspension then? Totally standard, down to driver skill (or lack off) alone? Lol
And finally another Club Vs Club event has been arranged for this coming Saturday.
I understand this is short notice but I hope most of the regulars are able to attend.
Club Vs Club Event
3rd May 2014 22:00 BST/16:00CST
no SRF this time around, sounds good!
SuperGT at Fuji in the morning, DTM season opener at Hockenheim at noon, and a no tuning Race in the evening, sounds like it will be a Motorsporty Sunday!
And that makes 5 on the list 👍Im in too. Can we make it 2 out of 2?
Then there were 6.I'll take another crack at this! ;-)
