Thanks, enjoy your Z8CC racing.

We should have space, it's only usually 7-8 people in the room.

I'll open the room around 20:00 and send a psn message saying as much, if you are online. Then just come on in. When everyone is there or 20:45 comes around, we start the qualifying proceedings.

Grand, thanks! what's your PSN?

Awesome race last night. To end up qualifying second was quite an achievement for me.
It was just a shame my usual errors coupled with damage meant that I couldn't reinforce my qualifying prowess. And to top it all off when I do pit to clear my damage I get spat back out on track and end up ruining Rooky's race in the closing laps. Once again, sorry about that.

The next track is to be chosen by @Cpt. Disaster, the next race is in a little over a month. I hope to improve on my performance and perhaps copy Obi-Tonobi and manage to get on the podium at long last.

There is also a Club Vs Club event on the horizon. The date is yet to be confirmed but if you are interested it will be a stock spec race using the KTM X-Bow currently scheduled for Red Bull Ring but this may change. More details will be added as they are sorted out.

Cheers CTR, I wouldn't say you ruined my race really, as I wouldn't have managed to finish any further up the field if we hadn't collided.
It did come as a bit of a shock though, I was driving along the straight-way and then all of a sudden an S2000 pops out from nowhere and starts spinning round in front of me!

Up to that point I was aiming to finish the race without pitting, which would have been a remarkable achievement considering that I didn't manage one single lap without taking damage in the qualifiers.

I even managed to hang on to the leaders for the first lap, but span on the last turn before the start finish, and then I didn't see another car until lap 18 when we had our wee bump.

I have much to learn in the way of racing; most of you guys were a good 4-5 seconds a lap faster than me. Any tips of what I can do to hone my skills will be well received!

When I went into the pits I thought to myself "I'm so going to be coming back out just as that next person comes by (I keep my mini-map on full view). I'd better try and stay my side of the pit exit line and let them through." the exit angle always seems to fire me across track, so I made every effort I could. I did well, until I clipped the grass and started spinning, and the brown came out.

I'll suggest to save the replay, might be a bit late now, and if you have time, to watch the more experienced guys lines into the corners and their throttle and braking application. If I notice anything else I feel able and qualified to critique, I'll let you know.

I can drop box the replay to you if you want. It's just small enough to export. Another reason for the approximate 45 minutes race length.

An update on the Club Vs Club event.
Looking at Sunday October 26th. These races usually run about an hour later than normal so we can race with the Ready Or Not Racing guys and we would be finishing around 23:00 BST.

Who's in? Bearing in mind Monday morning is as close as it is.

The pics from GVS are in, as are some captions.

This sounds awesome, especially since my cars are mostly 500pp for L.O.T.S. touge anyways. I'll have to drive with you guys and see what you're about.

I wouldn't say we're about very much. We come together for a race approximately once a month, mostly on Saturdays. We have an occasional team verses race with Ready Or Not Racing, who have a much more active schedule than we do. But we squeeze them in when we can.
What we have here allows everyone to come and go as they please. No long term or sustained commitment required. I figure, if you like us, you'll stay.

Sounds like L.O.T.S. apart from the fact that we compete more often. I may have been in one of your gt5 rooms come to think of it

Our next "calendar race" track, has been chosen.
Autodromo Nazionale di Monza

Also given as so many who drove the X-Bow at Silverstone enjoyed it, and some work has gone into running it again.
Who would be up for carrying on with a stock spec race in the X-Bow at Red Bull Ring on October 25th?

  • Heavy damage,
  • Sports Hard tyres,
  • Laps TBD

The usual sort of event I'd try to do. Just not one that's on our calendar.

it looks like lots of fun. I would really like to try to be part of the next calendar event as well.
The room will open at,
05:00 Sunday November 2nd, based on your location. Are you still happy joining us, knowing when it runs in your local time?

A.M ? yeah of course it is an AM :)
actually late night / early morning is where all the fun happens. I am trying to get used to it, I have successfully
attended the last two events of the z8 championship club. Let's see the good side of it, it is on a Sunday.
I'll try my best to attend and stay awake behind the wheel...

OK, I will send out friend requests later today. For yourself, @harry2000 and @che69velle. I thought your GTP I'd looked familiar. I watch the Z8CC thread myself. I seldom get chance to be online during the week, due to work and family.

Lap counts are in
  • Stock X-Bow @ Red Bull Ring, 27 laps
  • 500pp @ Autodromo Nazionale Monza, 22 laps
The lap times I'm expecting for each of these races are around 1:41 and 2:01 respectively.
