1:27.840. Will try again tonight. RB took 1st with a .684 though, making my life a little more difficult :P

I've had two laps where I was about a tenth ahead of Wolf approaching the hairpin only to bin it at the braking point. :banghead:

Keep pushing and take the 1st place!!
I think L-shooter and wolf is same person

Another small improvement this morning. Bent two thongs (rubber footwear) over and stuck them behind the throttle (and the backing board I use) to give it more tension, make it less sloppy. Silly me still hasn't bought the throttle spring from GTEYE yet, have the brake one.

Anyway improved to 1:29.245 for pos #149.

Stuck at 35.755 using the Shelby, tried both shaunm80 and Williams settings, I can't get even close to the target time, which causes much frustration

I'm starting to believe I seriously stink

doodle I was wondering what car you're driving on your (cracking) posted lap?

He's driving the Shelby Series One. He said he was using part of the tune I posted and Roweer1's gearbox.
In any case FrenchOzzie, any of the tunes posted here will easily get gold if you drive steady. You could try Traction Control on 1 or 2 to help stop the wheelspin coming out of corners (if it is a problem, it was for me for a long time) and I suggest you only put your foot down when the car is actually facing in the direction you want to go, not as you are heading towards that position while exiting the corner. And for many corners coasting into them a bit instead of driving into them might also help.
Good luck Frenchy.

I have my reasons to believe that RB and Wolf are in fact different people, but whatever.

Gonna go for 1:27.7 today. Wolf has passed RB as well so I assume they're gonna have a battle for the top spot. I'm gonna see if I can just keep up :D

I also think they're different people, and I'm pretty sure of it too.

Anyway, I was thinking of pushing for #1, it was definitely possible when all you had to do was low .7, but now I'm not so sure, and I really dont have time for it anyway, so maybe it was a good thing Shooter and Doodle showed up and pushed the times down. :)

Yeah my best splits give me a very high .5, but that would have to be an epic lap.

My best splits would have gotten me a mid .7

Its a bit demotivational when you run a few laps and you think you are fast, and then.... Doodle happens!
Its the same with Shooter, or IMMORTAL, his pace sometimes is just beyond belief. (current TT, FXX at Ascari for example.)

Well. I did it. Not entirely happy with the lap but I'll take it for now. 1:27.626. Lost a tenth sector 1 and decent sector 2. But I came back very strong with my best sector 3 yet. I've failed laps where I was .11x ahead of Wolf entering S3, but this lap I was .05x behind.

My setup is below. A mix of the mix of tunes Dalone posted, and Roweer's transmission with a slightly longer final gear, because I was actually topping out before the braking point.

Oh and this wouldn't have been possible without painting my car gold chrome. :sly:

Well done! :gtpflag:

You know, I tried three different cars with three different results achieved. The first bit of instinct for me in Gran Turismo games is to attack an event with your finest car. So for me, I first took my BMW 1-Series coupe and then upgraded it a good bit. I didn't get to cmoplete a time within the par time. The second car I used was my Honda S2000. It felt much better around the track, but I felt it needed more power (that's the American way!). So I managed to get a qualifying time after giving it more power. Good enough for maybe Silver. Finally, after using it to basically grind the Circuito de Madrid Seasonal race, I took my heavier BMW Z8 to take on Apricot Hill. It makes great power, but I couldn't manage to score a time south of 1:35.000. I actually scored a better Silver time in my silver Z8 than I did with my red Honda S2000.

I can't really find the speed to get Gold here. Then again, I've always respected the challenge of Apricot Hill.

Ha ha, never occurred to me you would have had Active Stability management on Frenchy. Anyway all good now I see.
I looked at the cars the top boys were using in the 700PP Trial just the other day, the Ferrari FXX 07, and as I had one I used that to gold. Not worried about getting a good time there, concentrated on the 500PP. Cheers.

Well I tried, for a good two hours or so with absolutely no luck. I think I'm worn out from all the driving this week and I'd just rather wait for the new time trials to appear tonight. GGs to Wolf on the fantastic lap. He's pushed me really hard the past few days. I'm happy with 2nd place, given DBRS doesn't beat me at the last moment. ;)

I gave it a final go aswell, tried your setup, and suspension is spot on, really really good! brakes is a bit too loose for me to make it work, and I actually think you'd benefit aswell from a more conservative BB.
Gearbox is good, but mine's a tad more optimized I think.
LSD is a bit lively for my taste aswell, initial 5 is given, but accel. at 30 is a bit hard to control, although I can see the benefits of it, especially out of the hairpin. you need to increase the deaccel. sensitivity tho, there is no reason to keep it at 5.
Power parts combination is spot on, helped me a bit aswell! :)
DF 20 is a given, but Ballast? If I where you I'd remove it asap an try again, it costs a tenth, no benefits whatsoever.

My setup:

Really? I might have to try again then with some changes! Specifically the ballast and transmission changes.
