Another swap, to follow a friend, to an M3 GTR this time and after a few laps got into the low 29.361s for a top 36 atm.

Enjoying finding out the speed class of these FR 500pp cars, without those hideous wings, I hasten to add. :yuck::lol:

Swapped again to an M3 CSL and 29.303s, can't believe how closely these 2 are matched.
The GTR has it in the corners and slightly better brakes but the CSL has the speed on the straights.

I agree 100%, if you haven't tried the CSL or GTR you need to. Pretty even, the CSL drives a bit better to me with very good turn-in and balanced on the throttle. Both are within.100-.200 in my hands. Got a 1:30.901 at this point. Time to tune a bit more.
 
It is such a shame that the BMW GTR and BMW CSL aren't Premium models.
Yeah, the E46 M3 doesn't get enough love in GT6.
They are such gorgeous cars and the CSL is a really important car in the history of the M3.

@RobertM525 Maybe "important" was the wrong word to use. It is more like a car of legend, especially to Americans since we didn't have the car released here in the United States. I would love it if we got an M3 from every generation in GT7. That won't happen, I know, but it's fun to dream... :lol:

This one may slide a little bit once equipped with Comfort Softs, so you might want to use TCS. I do have another 500PP tune for the TVR V8S but that's for Racing Soft tires.
 
did you change your setting Williams? I'm really bad at set ups so just looking for direction as everyone has different styles and likes.

Hmm. I wonder how they compare to the E92 M3 I was using.

E92 feels too heavy to me. I have an E46 330i that we have had since new (13+ years now) so I am a bit biased. Tried the 1 Series, way too loose/slippy with CS's.

Back to the CSL and got a 1:30.298 and every time I adjust the settings I loose time. Feel I am messing up the last sweeper onto the main straight.

Good call everyone on the E46 M3 CSL. :gtpflag:

I used the stock suspension and just put a tweaked LSD and transmission into it. (Okay, okay "just" a custom transmission—not exactly a minor upgrade for a real car.)

Got gold with a 1:34.103! (Using AT, TC1, ABS1, and the driving line.)
 
shaunm80 has done it again. great tune for the "Shelby Series One Super Charged"

First tried my 190E EvoII and could only get 1:37.3xx

I then tried my Shelby Cobra and could only manage 1:36.8xx

but then saw people using the Shelby Series One Super Charged, so though I'd try it out, tried with out a tune and only managed 1:37.9xx, so tried Shaunm80's tune and bagged...

This chrome silver muscle car (El Camino SS) could only get 'silver' medal. Driving this car with CS tires just like an egg rolling near the throttle pedal. :lol: Not recommended for high blood pressure driver. :yuck:

It's not my tune, it's a mix of others tunes and my own bits and usually by the time I get to this stage I don't know whose is whose. Hopefully I will not upset anyone by posting the settings I am using.
I add that I was about 3 tenths in front of Nowcontrol but I just fired the game up and I see he has changed to the Series One and I only lead him now by 3 hundredths of a second, so I strongly suggest you ask him for a tune also.
I would be interested in comparing our tunes too, obviously. I haven't actually raced today and I'll post my tune before I do so I won't know where his may be superior.

Power to weight 3.18.

Weight Reductions all. Ballast 18kg @ -37. Downforce (rear wing) @15. ..Weight 1,024. dist' 51 - 49.

Gears, and sorry I can't tell you what to start with as I don't remember. Someone will recognise these gears and likely advise you.
