The famous racetrack in Australia, the Mount. Pamorama Circuit: home of the Bathurst 1000 Endurance Race; is on this weekend for the 2012 V8 Supercars Championship for Australian viewers.
To celebrate the 50th year of racing at the Mount. Panorama circuit, the Championship contenders: Mark Winterbottom & Will Davison of FPR, and Craig Lowndes & Jamie Whincup (championship leader) of HRT; are using special colour liveries on their cars to celebrate the 1-2 win for ford in 1977, & the record 9 wins by late holden driver Peter Brock.

The Top 10 Shootout winner is FPR driver Will Davison, which is teamed up by Co-Driver John Micintyre.

Sunday's big race will start at approx. 11:00 am, AEDT (Australian Eastern Daylight Time) only on Channel 7 & 7mate.
(Convert to local time zone)

For some areas in Australia, Daylight Savings standard time will change to summer time, & will begin very early sunday morning. Be sure to set your clocks 1 hour foward prior to the change.

Good luck to all drivers in the race!

I think the idea is to have a specific thread for the Bathurst race ^^^ not just a general v8 supercars discussion thread

This forum isn't a vehicle for reminding people when races are on. The race is already getting substantial coverage in the dedicated V8 Supercar thread.

No, it's a thread. Threads are discussions on forums. You will note that the URL for the discussing you were directed to contains "showthread" in its string.

But whether or not this is a blog, forum, feed, wall or whatever else you want to call it, the point remains: there is already a place for the dedicated discussion of V8 Supercars, which means that this discussion is unnecessary.

prisonermonkeys, what YOU say is rubbish. IT's a BLOG fcol. It's my topic, & it's my right to open certain subjects related to motorsport. Your own words mean nothing. :grumpy:

Webmaster Jordan should agree highly with me, as well as Famine.

And it's your responsibility to use the search function before creating a new topic to make sure you aren't creating a duplicate topic. Which you have - this year's Bathurst 1000 is currently being discussed here.

Your own words mean nothing. :grumpy:
You see that little badge under my avatar that reads "Staff Emeritus"? It means I'm a former moderator, so I know a thing or two about these things. And while I don't have the power to enfore the rules, I still know what I'm talking about.

Here in the racing section, there's an established way of doing things. All V8 races are discussed in the V8 thread. Same with MotoGP, Indycar, WSB, Touring cars, WRC and Nascar. Things have been this way for years and there have been no problems.

Each F1 grand prix gets it's own thread due to the high amount of traffic, otherwise, we have the aforementioned threads. This is a thread. Not a blog. Just because you used all your intelligence to start a new topic does not mean that you can change the status quo. And lastly, that button that you so skillfully clicked reads: "new thread". Go figure.

It's my topic, & it's my right to open certain subjects related to motorsport.

It's also our right to enforce forum rules.

There is already a thread on Australian V8's, in which there is a comprehensive Bathurst discussion.

We don't need two, so you either need a time machine to enable you to start a new thread, a few days ago, specifically on Bathurst, or you need to accept that all Bathurst discussion should be continued in the existing thread.

👍
