And I'm gonna go ahead and say Leclerc is already your 2022 WDC.
You need a minimum of two participants for a title fight and so far, we've only got one. Him going for fastest lap near the end of the race like he's in Q3 is showing how much performance the car has in the tank.

Max seems the only real competitor, and 2 dnfs in 3 races doesn't exactly help. Gonna be an uphill battle for him if he wants to still have a chance.

Leclerc fully deserves it though

Wow. Dominant drive by Charles. Shame about Sainz.

Solid drive by Perez. I half-expected his car to give out not long after Max's.

Very surprised Russell got to keep his podium. Super stoked for him. I thought there'd be... shenanigans.

Nice haul of points for McLaren. Well done! Double points goooooooooooooooo!

Wait, what? Albon got a point?! Albon got a point! Dee maak!

Hardly the most exciting race ever, at least up the front. Nice points result for McLaren though.

Great drive bij LeClerc. Fastest all weekend. The Ferrari looks good and drives good.

Too bad for Max. Never had the trust. And also not the reliability. 2022 already feels a lost season. Too bad, because a good fight is what I love to see.

Russel also a fine result. Well done.

Nice mix on the podium with Perez securing some for RedBull.

You never know, they might actually get their fuel samples analysed at some point.
Red Bull should get theirs analysed so they can stop blaming it for their engines blowing up. 3 retirements and all of which were engine failures, all of which Horner has said was "fuel issue".

Don't know about today's race but in Bahrain they were fuel pump issues, specifically they were creating some kind of vacuum leading to the engine shutting down, which are technically engine failures but also have nothing to do with the fuel (or the ICE itself, really). So those engines did not blow up, either.

For the first 2, if your engine is incapable of pumping fuel into itself, it's technically not wrong to say it's a fuel issue ;)

A vacuum usually means they've run out of fuel, either through not putting enough in or the engine burning too much fuel.

Either way, it's all Red Bull's fault and they need to stop blaming other issues or they'll never fix it.

They didn't run out of fuel, their pumps had an issue when fuel got to low levels. Did they actually blame someone else though? They just said that they had fuel related issues, not that their fuel supplier caused it or anything.

It wasn't a fuel pump issue, it was fuel vacuum. It would be an issue for everybody if it was the fuel pump itself as that's a standard part for every car.

Enjoyable race, good camera direction, interesting battles throughout, close racing, glad they dropped the 4th DRS zone.

Ferrari looking phenomenal, being able to start focussing on the new regulations earlier than others has paid off for them big time. Massive lol @ anyone thinking there's foul play going on, Mercedes got the regs wrong, Red Bull can't keep itself together and McLaren have got it even more wrong than Mercedes. No surprise Ferrari are ahead, they've judged the new car perfectly and redesigned their entire power unit ahead of the freeze.

Either way, it is not the engine blowing up and I would love to understand why you think they deliberately underfueled their cars to the point where Verstappen's car retired several laps before the end of the Bahrain GP despite a safety car period, even though that was completely pointless even if he had made it to the end.

And if the issue they're allegedly refusing to fix is just them being the dumbest F1 team of all time and repeatedly severely underfueling their cars, how did Verstappen's engine blow up because of that today? I've never heard of an engine blowing up after running out of fuel. And it happened like 20 laps before the end.

after all the drama of the past races and the latter half of last season, i appreciate the rather "boring" nature of this race, where people didnt get screwed because of a late race accident. unfortunate safety car stuff for hamilton again tho, but still great points and merc in the lead constructors is pretty wild
