I just grabbed a GT-R black, full weight reduction and a little bit more power. Easy gold once you figure out the lines.

I wonder how car choice evolves in the Alien herd  (who is the first to choose?).... Using the Honda NSX Prototype with Sports Hards on this track seems so counterintuitive....It was fun though. Grease up the roller skates, throw on a jetpack and head to the Alps!...Thanks for the tune @praiano63 👍

Why is your tune not posted yet? :D:D:D

Because I don't have one yet, I just removed the camber, added all the downforce and dropped the top speed on the transmission.
I had never been on this track (other than career mode using a DS3) and was just trying to figure out the racing line last night.
If I come back to this TT and stay with the NSX I will post what I come up with.

Forgot about us lesser mortals?
You are now #7 (0,004 short of #6), so I guess you must have come up with something!?
Would you mind letting us know, PLEASE?
Thanks (#907 with 1:05,002) !

No, just made my normal three attempts in the first three days instead of spaced out over the two weeks.

What I posted earlier is what I used, max aero, no camber, anti- roll bars at 6, springs at 8/9.
The rest is LSD is 25/15/30, high rpm turbo and stage 3 weight reduction with no oil change, brakes are 7/4.

In many cases, you already know what car is the fastest.

Low PP normal car: Suzuki GSX/R-4
High PP normal car: Honda NSX-R prototype
Low PP race car: Chaparall 2J
High PP race car: Audi R8 '01
FF drivetrain: Honda Integra DC5
4WD drivetrain: Nissan GT-R specV (might be dethroned by the Tommykaira ZZII since GT6 really premiers lightweights.)

Other times the selection of cars you are allowed to use are so narrow that its easy to test most of them and find the fastest one, like this time where everyone was expecting it to be the TAKATA Dome NSX '03, but as soon as you tested the HSV you realized it was faster.

Other that that, its a matter of trial and error really, try something you think will work, if it does'nt, try something new.

As one of the top drivers, does the lack of variety bother you? I find it boring to drive the same cars every batch of seasonals? Back when they forced you to drive a new specific car I thought it was way better, at least it changed every couple of weeks to something completely different. What's the point of having hundreds of cars and then producing seasonals that utilise 5 of them???

I am FAR from being a top driver, but I still feel like the lack of variety is absolutely bothersome. You hit the nail on the head. With 1200+ cars to choose from, it seems kind of silly to force people to drive the same cars over and over again. Frankly, I think this impacts the lesser skilled drivers as much as the top drivers. While top drivers must use a particular car if they want to compete for best overall time, the lower skilled drivers must use that same car if they just want a shot at getting gold.

Personally, I would prefer if they picked the car we had to use but allowed tuning. For me, that Seasonal Event Time Trial with the Lexus at Nurburgring 24hr track was an incredibly difficult event because my skill level just isn't where it needed to be to collect a Gold medal time. If I remember correctly, I was 3-4 seconds short of the Gold time limit. Shouldn't Seasonal Events be challenging like that?

Again, I would prefer if they allowed tuning, which they did not allow in that particular event at Nurburgring, but I think you get my point. This way we would all be taking advantage of our vast collections of cars, tuning would still play a major role in determining the overall event winner and average skilled players like myself would really have to claw our way to getting Gold.

A bit, yes. But probably not as much as it bothers many other people.:)

edit: BTW, in the end, with a good setup, all cars behave pretty much the same anyway, its just different speeds and engine sounds:P

Thanks @et_ for the great response. I can really use that info. It is also helpful for lobby visits. Do you have any more general guidelines you use depending on the scenario?👍

Yes ofcourse, but it all depends on what track, PP limit, regulations etc.

If you give me a scenario I'm sure I could pick out the fastest car:)

380pp pre 1990 FR with CM's at Rome :D
I don't take requests from fellow aliens because they will just come up with some weird combo like that! And they can figure that out by themself!:P

Seriously tho, out of the blue I'd say the Nissan Skyline GTS-t Type M (R32) '89
That, or because its a tight track, maybe the Mazda MX-5 '89:)

I'm done with this TT. The NSX-R Road Car is really not to my liking so switched to the ZZII and ran a 1:03.899. Understeers like crazy, but it's more enjoyable to drive.

edit: not really "more enjoyable" as that would imply that they both are. It's just easier to drive.

Ok it really feels that PD is pulling a prank on us whit this compo of TT's I mean I already did some laps last week on laguna sega and it really made me feel that maybe these GT500 cars are little bit out of their place in a middle of a desert somewhere in california(?) but this one really makes it :D I mean I really do like the whole idea of NSX alone, but on this track is just something completely different :D I mean wow...

Well, at least on a first try it was quite much fun, until that left hand turn after that huge uphill :D after that it's quite a mess, I hope I can make some sense to it before it's over...

Yeah I know, I was just joking:cheers:

I am amazed that you came up with two cars out of the blue faster than I could figure out a goofy request, lol.
My first thought was, what is the fastest car offered in pink? way to easy for you.

@et_

BTW, what PP contest? It's mostly @GTP_CargoRatt and @Weider calling eachother names.lol:

Yeah, the swinging sabers stuff, big turn off when men do it with each other :D

Sorry sorry my mistake, just looked an air picture of the track and it's only bit arid there, not a desert :D don't have so much time to look at the view while trying to stay on the track...

Sry, I think that would be the Suzuki GSX-R/4 again:crazy:

Hahahhahah, yeah... I mean I don't really think that much about the game sounds, I mean if they just "work" in a sense that you can hear what the engine is doing it's ok for me, but the Suzuki... Oh man it's truly getting on my nerves... NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
