I drive with pad ....:nervous:

Or does this have something to do with the transmission

Questions and more questions:banghead::banghead:

Steering wheel not the point.

Or is it because of my age of 53 ... lol

As I already mentioned: I am 63 years old, so THAT is definitely not the Point.
BUT:
Steering Wheel IS very much THE point!!!

I bought my 1st PS3 just because I needed a Blue Ray Player, but since it is (primarily?) a Game-Console, I also bought 2 games: Tiger Woods Golf and GT5 Prologue (where are the days!?).
When I first started to Play GT5 with the pad, I was close to go nuts and crazy! :banghead:
So the very next day I went to buy a wheel (currently still love my Logitech Driving Force EX).
And suddenly driving GT5 was fun !
The only thing that bothered me then was the Force Feedback (just try to drive the Red Bull X2014 along the Hunadiere in Le Mans... it is not only undriveable, but you will also have blisters on your fingers!), so I simply pulled the plug of it and see...
...all wounds healed and the world is a much better place to drive!

My suggestion: visit your local dealer and buy yourself a wheel, you will see: it pays off!
Only the most gifted drivers are able to be quick with the pad (or drive it at all)... I am not one of them (and, pardon me, I guess you are neither).

I got gold with a time of 1:07.6xx this morning. The car was the M3 GTR road car tuned to 580PP. I need to still work on the set up a bit more tonight and then start seeing how close I can get to the top. Pretty sure 1:05s are possible with it.

Because I don't have one yet, I just removed the camber, added all the downforce and dropped the top speed on the transmission.
I had never been on this track (other than career mode using a DS3) and was just trying to figure out the racing line last night.
If I come back to this TT and stay with the NSX I will post what I come up with.
Thanks! I didnt like driving with downforce all the way up, I turned it down to about halfway. By the way, whats "ARBs"?

Edit: 01:03:787...NSX-R is a VERY nervous car

Anyone struggling with this one, the Tommy Kiara? absolutely rips this track up. 1.05xx with plenty to spare. Golded with an r34 gt-r and nsx lm , but the TK is by far the best to drive. Try it, you'll love it.
Yes, the TK got me into the 1:06s, probably can go a little faster, braking into that uphill lefthand chute is a problem. Aston Vision car good for silver.

when I look at the videos of other drivers 👍 they always go around the curves and the car nearly hits the inside of the curve.

When I try this with the setups listed here my front wheels always whant to go to the outside of the curves.

What am I doing wrong ........ I drive with pad ....:nervous:

Maybe touch the brakes a little earlier, focus on the inside curb, where you want to go, and power through the curve. That slight left dogleg going uphill is easy to drift wide into the guardrails if you turn late.

That NSX LM Road Car is a handful. It's rediculously easy to spin. However, i do like that the fastest car in this competition is also very difficult to keep under control. Not that I want every car to be like this, but it should prove to be a learning experience.

Having said that, my controller came very close to going right through the TV today. :banghead:

Keep trying , you will get it 👍

Nothing to do with age though, it seems that a high percentage of members here on GTP are well on the upside of 45 Me included.
I have improved out of sight since I have been using a wheel over the last 6 months.
Use good tunes and challenge yourself, try many, many different cars on all tracks in the game to get your confidence up.

I have got the

Logitech Driving Force GT

so i must learn to drive with it.....:banghead:

Guess what? i'm driving with pad.
I'm 45.
I also have the Driving force GT, look at my signature... i don't use it....
I don't use settings from people on GTplanet, i use my own.
My car settings (not the tuning settings)
Automatic gear.
I use the raceline ( yeah i know gtplanet members, noob blah blah blah i got gold and the 004chrome-W so bleh)
I used steeringhelp on weak
Traction controle on 6
ABS on 6
controller sense on 4.
and i don't use the analog sticks.

But!!! you write the front wheels always go outside, so you have understeer.
I do/did always the same, wanted to go too fast, thinking i would gain seconds.
Stop pushing, you are going too fast in/into the corners.
I brake , but loose the brake before the corner starts or else the car keeps sliding when i'm in the corner.
Then i tap 1 or 2 times before i push the throttle full time halfway the corner(s)
And i get a bit of oversteer (little drift).
It took me 27 minutes.

Also this track is not that easy with the height differences and invisible corners.

good luck

my attempt is on my youtube channel including all settings, but my settings work with my driving style, don't know if they work with your style.( why i don't use settings from gtplanet).

I find it very stupid to put a car that's over 570bhp on a tyres that can't handle a proper 550pp so how the f...k should I drive a prototype Lm car on sports hat tyres?!

Just stupid!

Go try the vehicle PD suggests.
Might not get you top time, but I'd suspect anybody else driving it is probably too busy racking up style points rather than watching clocks.
My quickest lap I think I spent most of turn 1 nudging 90 degrees.

That's not the point! I wanna compete, and a car that's over 660bhp on those tyres is just ridiculous in my Opinion, that's it!

This is not the first tt that we have a strang car with week tyres! I personally can't see a point driving thise cars with week tyres. Who can benefit only? Mostly Drivers on Wheels!!

Used the NSX-R LM roadcar to get a time of 1:03.490 with the DS3 and my basic tune, was at 55th yesterday afternoon. The first corner is a real rollercoaster ride, very rewarding when you get it right. The third corner on the uphill requires a slight drift to get the car's nose in without losing too much speed. MR cars are always fun.:)

I changed cars, from the ZZII to the NSX-R LM Road Car with praiano's tuning, and today I got a 01:02:923!
I was very happy about that, which you can hear at the end of that video :mischievous::mischievous:. After all, rank44 is the highest I climbed since I started taking GT6 a bit more serious...

This is the hardest challenge, so far.
I was struggeling with the last race on Nordschleife.
But this one... man, just can't get that car stable.
The car doesn't go anywhere I'd like it to go!

Congrats to the wheel!
I'm sure you will love it (after a week or so)

Yo, I got into the top 500 with a 1:04.6 getting there... I need to somehow work out how to get 2 or 3 secs off that!!
