Quick question, where did you find that GTR concept?

Suzuka 1000km A-Spec. Which was eventful for me.

B-Spec also gets you a similarly lethal Fairlady Z LM Race Car.

Oh, and for cars that win this, 2J. Obviously.

i used formula gran turismo. just added the 200kg ballast and lessened the power. easy win :) nearly overlapped the last guy

I did it with the 2J haha and it wasnt that hard really, cant see how this is a problem if you have a decent car with enough horse power and play agressive it shouldnt be a problem catching up.

I've run this a bunch of times now on racing hard tires (and no SRF.) If you get the easy configuration, you can win with 1:49s or better, the harder configuration will require 1:47 laps.

Most race cars were giving me 1:48-9s. Some can do low 1:48s consistently. The new DLC GT-R TC can easily get 1:47 or better lap after lap - I had to double-check to see if I had switched to racing softs!

So far the BMW McLaren has actually given me the fastest lap times (1:46) but it took a bit of practice to get the hang of after the GT-R let me win with a lead foot. Great, fast car! Must be one of the best at 650pp.

I have just finished this event and demolished the competition with a Yellowhat GTR, fully tuned and scoring 1:44.6 as my best lap. The Mclaren GTR finished almost 10s behind...

First attempt I managed an easy win using the '06 Xanavi Nismo Z, at 650pp. Passed the XJ220 race car on lap 4, and kept edging away on lap 5.

Later tried the Mazda RX7 LM race car, and couldn't catch the first place car. Finished in second.

Nice that this race is competitive much of the time. Will make grinding much more entertaining... I plan on trying out the Castrol Tom's Supra too as I recall that thing handling like it's on rails.

I used to clear this course. I then tried to win it again with the Pagani Zonda LM Race Car. I recently tried my luck with the Panoz Esperante GTR-1. I've won this before. Now... I can't win it! I'm on a losing streak. Sometimes, it depends on what cars are in the field. I often feel like some of the leading cars, that could easily be beaten in a straight up race, somehow have this little head start that makes passing them difficult. Almost like "oh, I'm too good to be passed by a b:censored: like you." In some ways, trying to pass some of the leading cars knowing you have a much faster machine than theirs is almost like doing those One Lap Magic missions or those 3-Lap Battles from GT4; except that you're trying to do this within five laps on a tough track.

I guess I just came here to vent about not being able to clear this event again after already having cleared this challenge.

It wasn't too difficult for me. I just used the Ford GT LM racecar. Very simple, just threw on some Race Mediums.

Destroyed the field. But then again I love GVS and I know the track quite well.

I used a maxed out GT-R. Got smoked in the curves due to a relative lack of downforce, but the 900 some-odd horsepower or whatever it maxes out at and AWD traction made up for it.

I am having trouble with the Online A-spec Challenge Seasonal events. I managed to get first place in the 400pp and 500pp races but the best I can do for the last challenge which is 650pp is 3rd place. I used the Saleen S7 and the Vertigo Race Car '04 and I got 3rd place with both cars. If anyone please tell me which setup or car they used and thanks.

Nissan GT-R R35 TC

In addition to other cars I've used, I have even downtuned my Audi R10 TDI and went with Racing Hards. Couldn't pass that 2nd Place car. I basically gave up on this challenge. I am a Gran Turismo veteran of 10+ years including a good deal of Tourist Trophy, but I am not an "expert."

Used the Saleen oddly enough. Guess I'm the weird one out. I love Grand Valley though so it wasn't that bad knowing the track so well.

The 2J just feels like cheating. Man, that car is sickening.

Another car that worked great for me with this was the Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II. Love driving this car.

I wonder if some of the people who are finding this super easy may be getting a favourable AI line up, especially if you are taking the lead in the first couple of laps.

I'm not practiced with full-on race cars but I'm not totally rubbish, and I couldn't get near the leading MClaren F1 GTR when using the CLK LM. I do find myself getting held-up a bit by the slower cars on Grand Valley as well though.

I've done this race many times and using different cars... any of these will work:
Mazda Furai, Dodge Viper GTS-R (Team Oreca), Lister Storm V12 Race Car, Audi R10 TDI '06, Nissan GT-R Spec-V (GT Academy version, but the conventional one is the same), SLS AMG '10.
The slowest one was the Lister Storm, I take the lead at the last lap driving it...
The Mazda Furai, Viper GTS-R and Audi R10 need to be limited down to 650PP, the other cars don't reach it. I always use Racing Soft tyres.

i detuned my SLS AMG to 600 because i misread the PP limit and won by 7 seconds.

i lowered the whole car, maxed aero, and stretched transmission out by 20kmh, then i lengthened 1 2 3 and shortened 4 5 6 7. Similar set up to a 1/4 mile drag transmission.

Um...To be honest with you mate this race is very easy.I've won it with a mine's skyline, just to feel a little challenge. If you want to win it easy as possible get a ferrari enzo or a citroen gt race car.I have a lap time of 1.35 with enzo, fully modified. To be more exact i took cars suspension height down by 10 points, drivetrain is downgraded by 3 points. If you dont have enzo just get a gt-r,still easy win.Just need to remember that this is not a speed race, get a cornering friendly car that accelerates fast, and tune accordingly.

Amuse S2K is an easy win but u do have to drive a little better if ur racing the BMW McLaren. Audi R8 LMS Race Car is also an easy win

I've got to agree...Ford GT LM Spec II fantastic car for this track, very constant 1.37 laps every time.

@Nihilusion, JDM360, CyKosis1973:

What tyres are you guys using? Anyone using driving aids?

RS tryes, but there's no need to use them, I'm sure it'll win on RH tyres. I can't remember the exact build I've got on the car, but it came from the Tuning Forum on this site. Avid Racing, the Mad Finns and Praiano all have builds posted, you can find them at the below link. The only driving aid I use is ABS 1.

I used to use this car to grind A-Spec endurance races before we got the Seasonal Cash Cows... 👍

EDIT: This car is good for the current Dream Car Championship...

If anyone else is still having trouble. It might benefit you to close the gap on your gears. A simple way to do this is to lower the top speed to about 180 mph. That should give you enough speed in the corners to surpass your opponents and easily win the race.👍

This is one of my favourite seasonals, great fun to find which cars and tunes can win it, plus a good payout even if you don't win and it's always been a favourite track of mine, right back to GT2, if my memory serves

PS if you're having trouble, keep reloading the race until you dont get the BMW. Also, if you have the first dlc pack, the r35 tc will ace this race no matter what, and it handles like a dream

My Mazda Furai has 680pp so that won't work and Chaparral 2J Race Car has 653pp so both cars won't qualify for the race.

SMX,

Go into your garage and select the Furai, then go to options and go to engine- there's a section there called power limiter. Hit the adjustment dial on that, then turn down the power until it hits 650 pp.

Furai with soft racing slicks and all upgrades, tuned well works perfectly for this track.

Bump. :dopey:

I have a question, do Racing Soft tires last for the whole 5 laps? I'm trying to beat this race with my tuned-down Mercedes CLK-LM equipped with Racing Medium Tires, I'm having trouble because the McLaren F1 GTR is just too fast and too fat away. :ouch::ouch:

I really want to win this event, I want a Gift Car Ticket :)
