I knew you were going to post that.

The actual performance reviews will prove how much work they really did with the new chassis because if the new SS is as fast as or quicker than the current 1LE, the Mustang is again toast on-track.
and then I'll be crying in my corner when the Camaro out does the Mustang on the track again.

I like it. It looks better than the last gen. Its becoming more of a modern sports car than a retro, bulky muscle car.

I'm also not seeing it. They toned down the more cartoonish styling details, but now it just looks like a huge car with bad proportions on accident. Like they were designing this rakish 2+2 and accidentally moved the scale adjustment to 120%.

And now it has the problems that the Challenger has from certain angles, where it doesn't look nearly wide enough for how tall it appears.

Based on the typical relationship between what Ford says Ecoboost engines can do over comparable engines and what Ecoboost engines are actually capable of, I don't think it's too much of a stretch to say that Ford has been getting it wrong consistently ever since they started throwing "Ecoboost" around as a buzzword. You need no further proof of people buying into the hype than to type in "turbo" in the search bar for the Mustang thread and go back to the last pages of the search. That the public seems to happily pay price premiums for Ecoboost engines that produce less power than the base motors (like in the Taurus, Edge and Explorer) for negligible theoretical fuel economy bonuses doesn't preclude GM from taking potshots at Ford over the issue when specifically asked.
I recently drove the V8 and EcoBoost Mustangs that Europe will be getting back to back over two days.

The V8 has an on-paper fuel economy of 21mpg under the NEDC (which is usually fairly optimistic) and we pretty consistently hit 19mpg. The EcoBoost's on-paper fuel economy is 35mpg and we got... 23. Quick additional note - I'm very good at getting decent fuel economy returns in most things and I've never been as far away from official figures as that.

Cars that use turbos for fuel economy game the NEDC test and unless you're mimicking the NEDC's driving style (which you won't and probably can't anyway), you will not see that fuel economy. Big-ass naturally aspirated ones don't do that (nor, usually, do turbodiesels) and though they won't reach the heights of NEDC figures you will at least be close to them.

The exterior is inoffensive, though it's far too big and the beltline is too high. But that interior is utterly revolting. Even in the press shots it looks cheap. The design is ridiculous; they added a touchscreen only to realise that they had no room for the vents, so now they're basically useless. Those seats may as well be bench seats, they've got basically no upper bolstering. And the less said about that hideous steering wheel the better.

It is apparently slightly smaller than the previous gen in some dimensions and gained some headroom.

Those are some pretty flattering exterior shots. Maybe I was too harsh on it. It's still not very handsome. Looks like they tried to C7-ize the Camaro.

Yeah, the interior has promise, but isn't done right. The windowsill should be down where the side air vents are. RIP Handbrake. I don't know why they had to make the central vents pretty much useless by putting them where they did. If they make such a huge monstrosity sticking out of the dash for the gauge cluster, why couldn't they just gooseneck the air vents out the top as well? Totally perplexing. I think the bolsters are absent because the shaft tunnel is what's going to keep you in place. I think all the old Camaro owners they listened to are a bunch of middle aged guys too fat to drive a Vette.

Errr which one is the SS ? One of the front bumpers looks similar too the Stingray. It looks weird though.

I'm not sure if i like it or not now but it looks like a heavy facelift from last gen, but nothing actually different.

At least it looks lighter and more agile than the 2015 Mustang. Though i'd still prefer the Mustang lol

Also found this in one of Jalponik's comments :

The new design reminds me Hyundia Genesis Coupe, which I don't really think is a good thing. Also it looks like they managed to make the visibility worse than the previous design.

I was actually going to say it looks rather Korean somehow.

I'm definitely not a fan. The exterior is simply uninteresting and the interior is revolting. The girth of the instrument binnacle reminds me of a first gen Diablo...

Profile looks more like an Audi S5 to me.

Edit: actually not. I don't know what Chevy are trying with this one.

I'm being pessimistic. 👎

Long live the Camaro! That's better. 👍

I don't mind the appearance. Couldn't say if I'd buy one though when they likely come to Australia to replace the V8 sized hole the Commodore leaves. I'd probably save up and buy a Gen-F GTS, probably cheaper, loads more horsepower and better looking, Australian built plus sedan practicality versus a coupe I probably can't even fit inside (at 6'3).
