7/19/12 - A-Spec: 500PP World Classic Car Series

I beat the G4 with a best lap of 2:03.7, slow lap of 2:05.8.

Yep, also won Cote using the Camaro Z28 @ 410PP...170hp...for $1,270,460, and after having to reverse out of a corner. Ha ha.
This car seems very slow, but it really isn't.

Lowest I could get to in the Camaro was 399PP..155hp, and won Coty by 5.8 sec for $1,380,140.

The 2d de-tuned all the way is around 485 pp and makes quick work of it for anyone who is struggling with those tires.

Monaco seems to be the easiest race, while Madrid with Ginetta G4 as the lead is another story ... struggling now with 300.000km+ Jaguar E type'61 at 460pp ... not fast enough as I managed only 2nd place

1965 Shelby GT350R Anyone?

316 HP@446PP

1268 kg Weight

461 Nm Torque

FR

(Trans AM for the win!)
I love this car. Shift into 3rd and peel out through 4th gear. Such a blast!

I didn't say I was gonna use it (don't even have one - that's why I want one so badly) I was just hoping it'd be the prize car. The 4WD seasonal was limited to 530PP, and the prize was the Escudo Dirt Trial car, which has over 700PP. So if we're gonna be using pre-1969 cars, the 2J would be a fitting prize car, seeing as how the '70s came right after the '60s.

Unfortunately, it's not. :( I'll probably never get a 2J :banghead:

With some planning you can get that notorious 2J in the UCD.

Go here to learn how https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=134403.

I have Qty (8) 2J's in my garage that I bought from the UCD and have multiples of many of the rarest cars that show up in the UCD. Give it a try, Cheers!

I'll give you the same advice i was given to get a 2J. 💡

Go to license B, load the B1 license then skip B1 to B5... Bingo, 30 new cars in the used car lot. Keep going until one pops up, i got one on my second try.

It popped up in my UCD about one month ago and I didn't have the cash. Been cycling it like mad and I keep getting a bunch of useless cars. Occasionally something good comes up, but no Chaparrals in sight. :indiff:

FR me & I'll send you a 1970 ticket. Recycle it 'til you get one. :) PSN: Rhinoafrica

What's your PSN?

My parents won't let friend people over PSN. "You don't know who they are!" :grumpy: But thanks. I actually had a 1970 ticket last month (my dad set up my PSN, and used his birthday) but I forgot to grind it. Didn't know you had to delete the PS3's saved data. So it's kind of my fault I don't have a 2J :dunce:

EDIT: I didn't have to delete it, I just had to overwrite it with the data from the USB stick and it would be deleted when I did that. :banghead:

So that's where all the 2Js went, you've got them all! :P I'll do my best.

Sorry for my stupid posts about something that's not even related to the seasonal event / thread topic, people.

Sorry, can you send it to me, if not? I currently dont know how to recycle until I get the car I want. I always stay with the first one because of auto saving.

Thanks a lot!

That's not true. The modern day style of racing slicks were first used in 1966. Invented by Dunlop.

He didn't say that slicks weren't available back then, or that CS tires are equal to slicks of that time.

He said CS tires are probably close to a "high performance" tire from the 60s, which seems reasonable to me.

I'm looking forward to doing these in a street car. No racecars on comfort soft for me. :ouch:

These cars, 2 laps of the ring, starting sunset then on into night-racing, in the rain would be awesome.
While It's great that were still getting seasonals, why the same limited race format, short, no weather, no damage, no tyre wear? In all this time we've never gotten a single A-Spec seasonal with these features.
I really don't get it, I mean even a couple of Bspec events had them, so it can't be a technical reason. Just poor, grind-mentality game design I guess. It's sad, the content is all there in Gt5, they could easily make so many fun and interesting events. Such a waste of potential.

Does anyone know if its possible to run an A-spec seasonal with 16 cars, weather and tire wear on without loss of frame rate? I'd assume so since thats what they had for the B-spec event.

this is tuned at cote d azur.you can get easy money with this tune but you got to be careful with the throttle because this car would oversteer everywhere but at least it turn.

I have to say, a modded samba bus at Monaco is quite fun, won by 6 seconds with a ton of screw ups throughout the race.

I meant the road legal tires and not the racing slicks. These are tuned road cars, not race cars, and I think that is what they went for.

The Chev Z28 '69 with Rotary Junkie's tune works well at 375pp for Cote D'Azur. His tune was for 500pp and was a much lighter car but I decided to keep the weight and the hp and beat the Sylvia by about 3 secs.

Payout was 1,599,500 (PDA-1,142,500) xp-160,300 (PDA-114,500)

The road height of many of these cars we are racing against and the way they roll seems to suggest that there is very little tuning, if any at all.

lldantell, Why would you use such high toe angle on the rear wheels? It hurts cornering. It does add some stability on the straights. But you're racing on Cote D'azur, if you need stability you'd be better off upping your camber a little bit.

I can't get mine (Chev Z28 '69) any lower than 398PP.
That's with 200kg added and only 50% power and nothing else, except for the titanium racing exhaust which comes with it and I can't remove.
Are you doing something I can't? Or don't know how to?

The back end was loose so I have to use extra toe at the rear so the rear is more stable

Ok well , even road tires weren't very different. Tire companies have been making tires made of polyester cords, steel, etc. inlayed with several layers of rubber, with reinforced outer edges since the mid 60's.

So they were virtually the same. the only difference is tread, which probably doesn't make much difference on dry tarmac.

Using comfort softs is lame.

I think RIT might by using the regular Z28, not the RM.

I hadn't driven the Alfa Giulia TZ2 in game previously and so glad they made this event purely as it gave me the chance...maxxed out ballast, and adjusting power limiter depending on whether the G4 is in the field or not...this thing is a lot of fun to drive.

Now to find a setup for it.
