GT2: Flying Lizard! Without any doubt the most beautiful car on the grid, the liveries of the past years have been an eye-candy!

The 07 car yes, the 08 car was dull though, about as interesting as any other Porsche livery.

For me...

P1: Audi R15
P2: No preference, none of the American teams ever enter. :indiff:
GT1: Factory Corvettes
GT2: Risi Competitzione

 All the flying lizard liveries have been the same since 2004

Their "normal" livery is very dull, silver and red? :yuck:

No, you misunderstand, I like the 2007 car. I detest their normal liveries, so boring in my opinion, I don't see what people like about them, those two colours don't go well together, at least not in this case.

Well all can say is no wonder they kept it a secret right upto the last minute.

OK then something to keep you all busy for a couple of days, post up your favorite Le Mans cars and liveries

I'll start, thats so much nicer than those shell suit liveries you sometimes see ;)

I've always loved the Flying Lizard livery. Simple, yet effective. But the livery I was referring to was the one Ardius posted. Good god, I've never seen a racing Porsche look that good 👍

In LMP1 I'll be rooting for, in order:

1. Any of the Aston Martins
2. Sebastian Bourdais 908
3. The young gun Audi R15

Hmmm.... Lets see

LMP1:
#8 Peugeot,
#1 Audi,
#11 Oreca,
#17 Peugeot

LMP2:
#5 or #31 Porsche,
#25 or #30 Lola,

GT1:
Any Corvette (Sadly)

GT2:
#84 or #96 Ferrari,
Either IMSA Performance Matmut Porsche,
And the Spyker.

Oh no I'm getting out number'd :D

Personally I've always been a fan of keeping the number of colours as low as possible 1,2 maybe 3 max, but I guess it would be boring if we all liked the samething.

ok...like I said (or maybe didn't), I don't get much LM here so although I'd love to watch it more (up near the top of my favourite racing series - although after the N-ring last weekend?) I'm not in the know, so could someone either explain or give me a link to explain the different categories and competitors competing? I want to choose my colours.:mischievous:

Aston Martin faces a race against time to have all three of its LMP1 challengers ready for the Le Mans 24 Hours, after new signing Jos Verstappen crashed heavily in testing at Monza on Monday.

The Dutchman, who is the reigning Le Mans Series LMP2 champion, went off the circuit after losing control under braking for the Parabolica, and claimed on his website that the 15G impact had written off the chassis.

"I was not even pushing for a quick lap time," said Verstappen, who was taking part in his first test for the team. "I was 1.4s slower than my fastest time.

"At the Parabolica I braked at exactly at the same point where I had on the previous laps. We can see from the data that there was less than a metre's difference. But the moment I touched the brake pedal, the rear wheels locked and I spun the car.

"Then I hit the barriers at 308km/h and that was it. The impact was almost 15G and the car is written off."

Unlucky Jos

Jos 'The Boss' should've stcuck to his Van Merksteijn RS Spyder.

Did some one say favourite liveries?

Well here are some of my favorite top tier Porsche liveries from over the years, as much of it has to do with the car as the liveries though.

Save the image to your computer, then find an image hosting site such as imageshack to get a direct link to post it as a smaller size. For Example: click browse and select the image, then click the 'resize image?' option on imageshack and select an appropriate size, it will upload. Then you need to copy and paste the 'Direct link to image' url into your post.
That should do it:).

One of the Shell 962's is in the Porsche driving centre on the Hangar Straight at Silverstone.

@Earth: That's weird, the factory 908's are sponsored by Xbox 360!

It was there at the F1 and LMS Last year.

I just probably missed it anyway  I just remember the stewart F1.

So how do we think the battle in GT2 is going to turn out? A win for one of the Ferraris, or for the Porsches? The Porsches have been driving very strong in this years ALMS season, and they are leading over the Ferraris by a little margain.

Will we see a die-hard battle like they had at Sebring last year?

Think that was a one-off? What about the Long Beach race last year?

I for one, will be looking forward to this class battle the most, together with the LMP1 battle. I've always had a soft-spot for the 997 Porsches, and the sound they produce make my hair stand up from my neck more than any other car does. They may not be the fastest overall cars out there, but they seem to share more hard battles than any other class combined.

In the first vid did the result stand? there was a lot of, what looked like deliberate rubbing from Melo in the Ferrari.

I don't know if the result standed, but I do remember the Porsche driver (Bergmeister?) being very angry at the finish about Melo. Melo played it dirty though, he clinched the Porsche nearly into the wall in the last corner, and nearly once again before the finish line. But it was an awesome battle anyway 👍
