7th GTP F1 World Championship (F1 2010 edition) * SEASON FINISHED :'''( *F1 2010-2016

Ahh I see I got tapped by Baumi, that explains why he slowed down.....👍

I had a bad feeling this would happen to several drivers tonight and so it did. Take this as a lesson for Montreal, Valencia and Singapore which are all to come and all likely to result in a few nasty shunts. Hard luck anyway mate, and chin up, you didn't get any practice at the most difficult track in the game so it's nothing to be ashamed of, and as you can see by the race reports, we only actually had 5 finishers out of 11 so you had plenty of company

Haha, I can imagine but I really thought that I had found a sweet spot between consistency and peformance, still onwards and upwards. Oh and just a quick heads up, I'm available for practice everyday this week 👍

Here's the link for the race video up to Portier, the rest of the lap is me limping back to the pits.

It's pretty grainy at the moment, hopefully it clears up after Youtube processes it.

Should have Qualifying up for tomorrow.

Ah so that clears up what happened at the first corner - what I saw was you, Baumi and Tombrooks going 3-wide and then me and Jordy (I think?) joined in to make it 3 wide again after you passed Baumi and Tombrooks spun off from the contact. Thats why I remembered 5 cars, it was all over so quickly though I remembered it as 5 cars going through at the same time , which wasn't really true. Though perhaps NERVUS and Jordy were on the outside to make it 4?

It also explains why it was so easy for me, as Baumi was clearly slowing to wait for Tombrooks but was in the middle of the corner so couldn't pull over. Which made it easy for me on the inside and I assume Jordy had to go wide on the outside.

Also, a heads up Shaggy - I'm not sure I'll be able to make it this Sunday as I'll be at Oulton Park for the BTCC. I might make it back in time but I doubt it.

I finished the race on the invisible wall ... It's so frustrating. But still I love Monaco;) I was hoping to get the small points ... Maybe next time? Congratulations to the winner and all those who have completed this deadly race.

I competed Lap 32, so I'm out for sure. I know Dark went out before my last lap, but he was a few ahead of me. His lap counter would be the best indication.

I can post the first couple of laps pretty quickly, the rest of my race was pretty much, drive, turn, get out of the way :)

Nah Ken, I don't think it's fair for you to be excluded from the points. I've said before that a certain level of speed isn't a requirement of the championship so if you're still driving when the chequered flag drops, then as far as i'm concerned, you finished the race 👍

However, I didn't realise you were that far back so it looks like you'll receive 6th place if DarkPSI did indeed make it to lap 36 and he'll get 5th. I believe he was on the lead lap when he crashed.

All this said, i'm surprised Ken because you showed in that Catalunya practice that you had very respectable pace. Is it still the race 'nerves' getting the better of you?

You and Baumi passed me at the start, I saw Baumi hit Tom and I went through on the outside of turn 1 with no incident, Baumi slowed to let me pass I think. I was sure that all of us were never going to make it through side by side but surprisingly it happened. There was an incident before the tunnel on the first lap which I managed to avoid aswell lol, not sure what happened there.

Looks like I missed a very eventful Monaco GP. Gutted I missed the fun.

Good news off Logitech today though they're sending me a new G27 :)

That would be good for the team, we'll take all we can get 👍

Honestly, I think it was a combination of things:

1. Sadly, not enough practice time this week. I was way too busy to be able to get behind the wheel.
2. Race nerves, but not quite as bad as Catalunya, I relaxed much quicker this time.
3. A lot of talk about what a blood bath it was going to be :)
4. Monaco is very unforgiving, slightest mistake in the wrong place and game over. Made me very conservative come race time.
5. As a result of wanting to keep the car on the track, I used a very conservative set up. I would have had to be quite aggressive to maintain position, and I clearly was not!
6. At least 5 pit stops for nose wings, that I can remember. Might have been more, lol.
7. Being conscious of not wanting to be the cause of someone elses disaster, made me hold back too.

Not trying to make excuses, it's all stemming from me. I've only been driving for a little over 8 months, prior to that it had been a good 20 years since I played any drivers. I'm slowly gaining confidence, ability and learning the tracks. I'll get there.

Wish I was able to take part in all the practice sessions you guys put together. Fun and useful :)

That is good news. Great they're standing behind their gear!

Damn I really need to double check my connection bandwidth, as looking at video from that race my car was not looking so hot (jerking around and whatnot). I'll make sure to incorporate a router reset and cache clear before any future races.

Yeah you were sometimes flying in the sky it was that bad sometimes! It made it impossible to follow you and avoid collisions as I didn't know where you were, sometimes you would appear crashing into the corner and the next you would zap half way around it!
I hope I didn't make any contact with you but it was impossible to tell so I tried to keep a good distance away just in case and hope you would make a mistake instead.

Yea, Im pretty please with how they've responded, hope the new one doesn't have the same problem now.

Just read your list of problems for the race, Im the same for most races and it usually takes me a while to settle down into a race. Istanbul next though, I love this track, so much fun, especially turn 8 with the 4 apex's. Does have a few rather blind corners though which does take a while to get used to but as my rugby coach used to say just focus on having fun and enjoying yourself 👍

It's getting better each race and the more I do it, I'm sure the more relaxed I'll be.

All that said, I am having great fun with a great group!

Cheers 👍

Those are great videos!

Check out video 2 btw, notice how Shaggy is 7th. Clearly there was some timing glitch going on last Sunday.

God, how hard is it seriously to get this part of a game correct. Surely it's pretty simple stuff.

Thanks, Mutu20. Wish the driving was a little more stellar. Would be good to see a little more action, lol. Hopefully at Istanbul!

There's all kinds of issues with the leader board in those videos, in Video 3 at one point it only has Dark listed! The end of video 3 I believe has the correct finishing order though.

Hey Shaggy, when you said I need to get out of the way, I had my headset off hence why I couldn't hear you 👎

Turkey should be a relative breeze this week compared to last. Beyond having to do the first section well there is very little to worry about, save for trying to outbrake an opponent down into the final turn or two.
