sorry, ive been busy with mock exams and so on, i havent check this thread completely forgot about it, ill edit this post and include a picture, (pal/ds2).

I achieved 80 gold licenses today by finally being able to Gold the "cone slaloms" test !

Add my name to the list. Finally after all this time I got that last gold on S16 last night along with Mission 34. Couldn't believe I'd get both in one night. I figured if I could pass Mission 34, S16 should almost be a walk in the park. Guess I was right.

I've golded S16 by a margin of over 10 seconds (6'56.202), and IA-15 by over 20 seconds (8'39.542). So I'm pretty comfortable with the 'Ring.

I've passed Mission 34 perhaps a half dozen times, typically by less than a second.

Yeah, after Mission 34, S16 is a walk in the park. 👍

Congrats on getting both in one night.

Today I just finished getting all golds, I feel so good now because I remember
when I first tried it(back when GT4 first came out), I could bearly get bronze on
the S tests. I guess almost a year worth of driving in the WRS will make you faster.
Anyways here are my stat's,

Hey dudes,
I finally managed 80 Golds back in Feb. Have been a bit slack with posting it up though... I've got the PAL version, and used a Logitech cordless controller.

The clock was ticking though... I became a dad in March, so I knew I had to get it finished before then!!
Happy to have completed the lot though. It remains to be seen whether I can squeeze a PS3 and GT5 into my life somehow... Here's hoping!

Do I get a prize for being post number 500!!?

I'm kinda on my way. I do things in spurts and have 65 golds, no silvers, no bronze (first four licenses + the first super license test).

I see people have trouble with the IB Slaloms. I had huge problems with this the first time I did this when I was using a regular controller. It took me and a friend almost 2 hours to get the first one done, but we found the second easier and got it done in under an hour. The driving aids in the first slalom really screws the car up. When I later had a wheel, I revisited the second test and actually posted an incredibly luck time, something like .7 seconds ahead of the gold standard. For whatever reason, I don't think my time got saved so I can't prove it. Well whatever. I think I could do it again or something pretty good. I'm not saying that it's easy to gold, but it's much easier once you get it, as in, once you understand how to drive it.

My advice is to drive it like a real car on a real course, made easier if you have a wheel. Rhythm is key so you shouldn't be reacting to what's happening. Throttle to the turn in point and let off the throttle right before you want to turn in. In the faster middle section, make sure you're at least parallel to the cone when you pass by it or you're late. Remember, if you're late, you're going wide, and wide is slow in a slalom, trust me. The begining and middle can be driven a little differently because you're moving slowly at the beginning and you don't have to make cones at the end. At the start, I accelerate full without letting off until I get to something like the fourth cone and I also gun it to the end at the second last cone, sometimes going sideways through the finish. Hope this helps.

Oh yeah, I'm pretty impressed with how people are able to gold the other tests. I've struggled much, much more on a number of them than I did with the slaloms.

I feel i shall be able to join in a few days. i have gold all except for suzuka in s licence. just cant seem to get the rhythm right. using a ds2 controller and a pal version. i mean if i can gold the ring in both test you think i should be able to do suzuka. but anyways i'll be back in a few days (weeks probably) to post my pic.


edit: completed all golds last night will post pic of achievement tomorrow if i can remeber to get the pic out of the camera

I believe that S-12 (Suzuka) is considered to be the hardest S license to gold. Personally I thought that S-16 on the 'Ring was fairly easy.

suzuka is a cow of a gold to do. just keep trying and you will get there. 👍

The license tests are the best part of the game in my opinion, I've worked through them 5 or 6 times, getting all gold.

I just got all golds again on my second game yess! the first time I got all golds was with the DS2 This time I did it with the G25 wheel set on manual trany, I have the North American Version, this was fun as hell. I dont got no pics yet this computer does not have the stuff I need to post them.
