I did em both with a DS2 and auto, full throttle on the start (usual first time split was 0.649), didn't let off the gas til after the 4th row then it was off gas, tap < or >, back on the gas. Still took me bout 3 hours all in all.

Now that pace car lap is still giving me hell IB-5 I think it is.:ouch:

I'll put that into practice then, see where it gets me...sure will be weird doing auto again lol

OOOOOH so annoying...need a 17.7 flat to gold...and I get 17.707

Ha! Now I can't even seem to reach the end, bloody marvelous...makes that 707 seem so much more frustrating...

I took this test as following:

Take a fast start you can possibly have, accelerate up to 100-110 kmh and stay at this speed while guiding the car through the rest of the test.

I went 0.073 under the gold time :D

The IB Slaloms were a pain. The two, key points are:

1. Find the throttle modulation mentioned in the Gold Medal Guide.
2. Start turn-in toward the cones at a point far before reaching the cones.

Slow-in, Fast-out won't work here, as you won't use brakes.

Using the DFP, it took time to find the timing for steering and throttle. Use short bursts of throttle and steering, putting the pedal to the floor, and quickly letting off the gas while using quick, yet smooth steering input. When you find the modulation, the car seems to start turn-in for you. oddly.

I don't recall if throttle input starts at weight-shift, right before turn-in, or if it starts right after turn-in as you approach the cone. I believe it is one of the two. :nervous:

Also note, you should be able to go full throttle as you pass the second-to-the-last cone all the way past the last cone to the finish.

There is definitely a knack to the cones. Heres my two pence worth: fast start (you can do a better start than the demo does), attack the cones (not literally, the turn that it represents) to give yourself a better angle for the next one. After the first couple of cones you are up to speed, take it easy get a rhythm of lifting off very slightly to help turn in or keep constant speed. At the last couple of cones start accelerating and floor it out of the penultimate cone to get as good an exit speed as possible.

I found running with the ghost on here is more of a distraction than on other tests, but use the demo to see where you are losing time in comparison to your runs. Whatever time I lost through the cones I made up for with better starts and good exits than the demo.

To sum up, fast start, rhythm through the cones, fast exit.

I'll soon be in this club too. I had 80 gold on my old, corrupted game, and now all I have is gold, working my way through IB. :sly:
Done and done. Got 80 gold last night, using the NTSC version and a DS2. 👍

Well it looked like I was getting somewhere, but unfortunantly I've hit a block at 49, cannot seem to gold anything else no matter how many efforts I give. Think I shall hold off and wait until I get a DFP before finishing things off

Finally got 80 gold medals :D . This'd be the first time in any GT game that I've completed all the gold medal requirements. I've got the NTSC version, and am using DS2, MT for all tests.

After losing all my cars in my old save :ouch: , i decided to start again and go for 80 golds. Currently I have 53/80 and am trying to gold the IA Licences.

Finally reached 80 gold. S16 took me many, many hours. I was trying to tie the demo run time hoping it would help me prep for Mission 34.

I ran soooo many times without completing the course. In fact, I received gold the first time I completed the course. I was at or ahead of the demo time up to around 4 minutes, but I couldn't memorize the rest of the course well enough to maintain that lead before getting the gold run...and I was happy with it after all those attempts.

NTSC/NA with DFP.

Mission 34, unfortunately, is with a car that slips around like a woman on rubber bed sheets covered with baby oil. :sly:

It will take time to "re-learn" the course with the SLR. :yuck: At least I can turn around and practice corners, unlike the License test. :grumpy:

I just completed all 80 golds today... it's a rental here in the US. I just used the standard dual shock controller. I found that S16 was simple compared to this dang mission 34 that is preventing me from surpassing my 99.8% completion. Agree with the last comment on that! The best I seem to be able to do is 12 sec behind.

i'm stuck on i think 77 golds

i've got:

mission S 13 [i think] 350 @ Suzuka
mission S 15 Bently speed 8 @ sarthe i
mission S 16 AMG Mercedes @ Nurburgring

i don't think the car you get is good!(PAL)

Agreed, after all the effort the players have been through to get all Gold Licenses I would want a better car (especilly a better S License car).

All the Model T is good for is Photomode, I would want a car which you can acctully race for a start.

Im there, it was the first thind i did when I got the game took me about 2-3 months, majority of tht being S license. ANd man was I pissed when I got a Model T

Count me in. Just finished last night. After a one year break from the game I decided I'd go for all golds. I got 78 golds in eleven days (I had already gotten gold in S16 and S15 last year). S12 was definetly the toughest. Lost some mobility in my right thumb but it was worth it.
