Wooohooo!!! I just pulled it off, and got the last gold last night. That means I'm a member of the 80 gold club. :D I took the Model T around a few laps of AutumnRing Mini to celebrate. I was surprised at how much oversteer it had.

I've got the North American NTSC version, with the normal PS2 controller.

The worst missions:
*El Capitan with the Viper... good lord that was a PITA.
*Suzuka with the 350z race car... the tiniest errors result in huge time losses
*BMW Z4 slalom missions... I hate slaloms
*SSR5 with the Saleen S7... another one where the tiniest of errors results in massive time loss

There were a few other extremely challenging ones, but none quite as bad as those.

I have`d better time without Driving aids than with them :D
Also i would like to mension the Tokyo with the Takata Dome NSX,that was PITA for me,i couldn`t drive the whole course perfect, one time i screw the first part of that course, second time second part...
Saleen was PITA too :D
Not to mention the R92cp (or something like that),adding throttle on rumble strip :)

Forgot to join this club when I finished the quest for 80 golds about a month ago. Anyways, I have the NTSC(NA)/DS2.

Toughest tests from each license:

B-16
A-14(?; the one with the Skyline on Trial Mountain)
IB-16
IA (the tests with the M5 at the 'Ring and the Skyline at Fuji Speedway 90s)
S (the test with the Motul Pitwork Z at Suzuka was the most frustrating test in GT4 IMO to gold.)

Got all golds last night, PAL with PS2 controller.

Skyline trial mountain was tough, as was le mans IA-16?

My biggest annoyance is only getting a 6:56:9 on s-16 when I know vuda can get a 6:49:6. GT wizard!

Don't think I'll ever get 80 golds, but just today I completed all licenses with silver or better (47 gold, 33 silver), with B & A solid gold. The coffee breaks are another matter though, B license was the only one I could even silver.

Just keep at it. I didn't think I'd be able to do it when I started, but I got there in the end. The GTR on Trial Mountain and the Z4 Slalom were very frsutrating, but I got there.

Also, it's not necessary (although satisfying) to Gold the Coffee Breaks to acheive an all-Gold license.

I know. I have three bronze coffee breaks, but I don't care, since they don't count. I still have all silver and gold with no bronze, that's good enogh for me. It took me hours on some of the tests to even pass, let alone silver/gold, so all gold will take me forever. Besides, I don't mind missing the 3 gold prizes I lack. I can buy the Jenson if I ever want one, the Model T is more a novelty/status symbol than anything else (okay, that one would be fun to have), and the DOME Zero is quite possibly the ugliest car ever created by anyone.

I may very well change my mind later, but I'm cool with where I'm at right now.

I'm on my way to become a member here; at least I hope so.

Right now, I've got 37 golds and 43 silvers. I've golded all the National B's and got only 4 golds left at National A.

My God! It's getting harder and harder! Been busy with the Skyline at Trial Mountain for hours and hours and the best I could get was 44.604 (is 44.600 correct?) Don't remember exactly but after that I was 🤬

So right now I'm a bit: "How the hell I'm going to get past IB?!"

But yeah, I'm not giving up 👍

That Skyline test is one of the harder ones - but keep at it. 👍

If you can get that close, you can shave off 0.004secs.

Don't give up!

Had another 1 hour session last night, without any result.

However, I took a quick race throughout all of the remaining tests in NA, saw some tests I could easily gold, I hope :D

W00t!

Didit!, Beaten the Skyline time with 44.513 👍

The rest went somewhat easy, the graduation test with the RX-7 was loads of fun and I even beat the gold time with almost 0.8 seconds

Thought IB would be impossible, in fact, they were the most easiest licenses I've ever done. I ran like a train through those tests, golding some tests even from the first try

Just needed a few tries with the SL600, it had quite understeer and I didn't get the proper line in the hill in the first hour of trying.

But now I've got 57 golds and 23 silvers left to gold, that means only 12-13 gold in IA and S.

One question, I take it most of you use manual when running the majority of these licenses?

Im also all gold... well have been for about 5 months I did it with part DS2 and Part DFP on the PAL version of the game. Good luck to all those who are still trying and congratsto those who have done it.

Finished all gold licenses on IA yesterday, beaten the IA-15 test with 18 seconds  (8'42.XXX).

When I saw my time, it felt like a release from huge tension, but no brakes left for me, I had to do the graduation test. After several tries, I found the ideal line in the Mulsanne. I braked way earlier but I drove almost to the wall in the right corner, giving me the change to propel away like a rocket. Gold time was beaten by over a second 👍

So, I'm now in the S-licenses with only 10 tests left to gold ;)

Did it!

Finally got 80 golds standing in my status screen, I also took a shot of the car immediatly, click on the link to my gallery in my signature to view it 👍

well done djblackmon, I officially bow down to anyone who has golded the coffee breaks, I can never get close to silver let alone gold, so nice work.

thanks both of you I feel special, to me all you have to do for the 2 spirals is find the speed i was doin around 31 on both.

For the maze I found a route on some website.

For the one where you find your way through all the cones use the far left.

Thats all i can remember hope that helps.

I'll keep that advice in mind, hopefully I'll be getting a DFP soon and that'll knock off the tenths I'm missing in the other tests and make it some what easier to deal with the coffee breaks too.

HI!
I'd like to sign up for the 80 gold club, I just managed to get the last four yesterday. Do I have to include a pics to prove?

Thanx guys, it was fun!

Well I've just bounced over half way....43 golds...had a little session last night, no golds. But I did get the last 3 silvers I needed in S Licence so that's got rid of the nasty bronze smudges on my record and the Solstice.

Not far behind ya Spike with 37 golds atm, but I haven't even attempted the S license yet....

Now I'm too addicted to gold to do anything else but license tests til I hit 80:)

I used to go in spurts, I'd try the licences when I had to (y'know bronze them to get all access to races and such), then do some more of the game. Came back to try silver them all seeing as I'd completed the game and got all the buyable/prize cars bar the licences. Got stuck again...went off...came back again (at this point I had something like 14/63/3) and then golded them like a hot knife through butter until I got to the Slaloms of IB...that seems to have stopped me, although I golded the first 2 S licence tests.

Coming back to the S licence, I was thinking I'd slice through the R8 at Infineon and struggle with the Starion at Grand Canyon and 205 at Chamonix...quite the opposite

The R8 test took me a good 8 tries, and what infuriated me more was the fact that when I finally netted Silver, I ended just 1/10th off Gold!

Went to the Grand Canyon, Silvered it on the first try with 2 seconds off Gold, and Chamonix I was just 1/10th on the first try, and after 3 wall hits I nailled it with just 4/10ths off Gold. So amazing what a long break and extra game time can do for ya.

I'll soon be in this club too. I had 80 gold on my old, corrupted game, and now all I have is gold, working my way through IB. :sly:
