Well you have your idea, my idea is you can bring everything you want at Le Mans, green cars, ecological cars, delta wings, whatever you want as long as you try to actually COMPETE with the rest of the field.

IMO There's no point on going to Le Mans and being trolled by normal prototypes.

If you are not ready for competition make your private test, a good video promo and that' about it.

The point is it wasn't allowed to compete with the LMP1 cars by the A.C.O, because Audi and Toyota wouldn't allow it, thus they were limited to LMP2 pace. They were set a target laptime of 3:45.xxx by the A.C.O, so as not to compete. It was designed as a test of technology and it did well in that, pitting less and not changing tyres for many hours, which is fairly impressive.

Didn't Peugeot drop out due to money problems? I seem to recall the head of Peugeot (or whoever is in charge), say that he didn't find it fair to lay off people, in favor of participating in the 2012 Le Mans. They simply prioritized not having to fire people.

Nothing to stop them selling the 908 Hybrids to a privateer team (Pescarolo?) and injecting a lower amount of money. The way they have it now is that they have effectively lost all the money they spent developing the cars wth no return.

Yeah, that's true. Nevertheless, it's a shame they had to axe their racing program. I think one of the problems is that Peugeot only saw it as advertising for their crappy roadcars and that's why the management board didn't cared much about the Le Mans program. VW Group justifies the expense of Le Mans by actually using the technology in their roadcars, or at least thats what I naïvely believe

Ya... Okay then ;) Rather sad to see the Deltawing go out, the team seems pretty bummed.

But you are still RACING. Even if you are not in LMP1 class what Nissan proved with this Delta thing? The only thing they proved is they can run 14 second slower than top LMP1. What an achievement.

Worldwide marketing for running 14 seconds slower. Hmm.

Well, there was nothing stopping Team Oreca from using their first generation 908 HDI Fap's. I believe they chose to replace those with the TS030's?

perhaps Peugeot is holding the new 908's back until next year.

OK8
Yeah. The fantastic battle we had at that time would've continued seamlessly, but as Ferrari took the Toyota out, everything went down the drain.

Yeah. I feel really sad now. 👎

Epic race ruined.

Audi # 2 just took a bite of gravel on the 2nd chicane of Huandiers our whatever the straight's called
