3:16 from Porsche. Holy 🤬

Toyota have developed their car by making it worse. If the Porsches go all guns blazing, we could be nearly 10 seconds off.

Good, I was rooting for a Porsche win this year anyways. Looking great so far for them.
They've done this every round so far. Quali really means nothing. Audi have the race pace and strategy nailed - Porsche are still very much on the back foot for the race.

Heck, at this rate they'll break the all-time record which was posted in the no-chicanes layout (3:13)
Won't happen after this year. Just slightly out of reach for this year. :indiff:

I am a bit behind. What is the reason nissan are not using the hybrid system?

not sure I guess they couldnt get it worked out in time for the actual race application. they had used it in previous testing as you could hear it in those Sebring test videos like a metallic whirling sound. it was designed to eventually give spurts of power to the rear wheels but they arnt running a rear driveshaft in this configuration. but in any result they are an LMP1 car running basically a V6 TT with 600hp but having to carry the hybrid system

while is a bit disapointing another way to look at it is it wasnt like they were realistically competing for a win this year so the goal is the same regardless to complete the race with all 3 cars and let the chips fall where they may as far a placing after that

Go Mark Webber ! Maybe for once he won't be a number 2 driver :sly:. .880 is a sizable gap to close, but you never know...

Also just to confirm to my fellow Americans, you shouldn't have an issue buying the live stream package or whatever you want to call it, despite the pricing only being listed in Euros. I mean I'm not sure 100% if my bank or their system will later on have an issue, but so far so good watching qualifying currently. So I'm assuming no issue!

Anything could happen in the 24 hours in terms of reliability.

I have heard under 500hp (480hp) quoted for the V6 without the hybrid system.

40% is the figure, so 500 seems about right. If they were allowed to enter a GT500, they genuinely would be much more in contention.

GT500 cars are not even really GT cars now anyway.

Only issue I had was that my Visa card was by default blocked from international charges so it was declined the evening I tried to sign up. A quick call to the bank the next morning and it went through with no problems. The stream is outstanding đź‘Ť

They're full on prototypes now. With the P1s being pegged back next year, and the GT500s going into their final year, there's a good chance they'll be dead-even.

Thanks that's very upsetting as a complete nissan fanboi i was hopping for the impossible win.. 20secs off the pace seems like the car has some raw potential. I was worried when they still hadn't decided if they were going to deploy the hybrid to the front or rear wheels.. it wouldn't surprise me if they haven't actually got round to making it deploy they have just got it to a stage it can charge.

Can't believe how fast the Porsches are

Still, at least right now it makes a great LMP2.

Also Rebellion within 3 seconds of Toyota? Go on lads! (Still sad Toyota forgot to change their car though)

They are not even relevant outside of Japan. They would be :ill: to see at Le Mans ...

That 3:38 by Nissan would still be slow by 2005 standards, the last time a non-hybrid, non-diesel prototype qualified on pole.

But they're still FWD, overweight and low on testing mileage, and are low on natural engine power. It's like everything is against them. I don't support Nissan as a whole, but the fact this thing is running laps at all is astonishing.
