Actually, the Porsches like to spark a lot too.How is it even possible to bottom out so hard with the relatively high ride height of the LMP's? I'd rather expect the GT'S to let the sparks fly.
My wild guess is the rear suspension setup is really soft because of the lack of weight at the rear, but when reaching high speeds on the straights the down force becomes so great the car bottoms out on the bumps?
P3s were invited to test day, although they won't be in the actual race. This year at least...Uhhhh, what is this LMP3 business? It wasn't listed under the categories when I watched qualifying...unless I simply missed it. Guess there is a lot going on I have missed. I had no idea open top designs are going bye-bye for instance.
I knew I'd seen LMP3 referenced somewhere (besides that picture).P3s were invited to test day, although they won't be in the actual race. This year at least...
Think of it as a much cheaper version of P2. Right now there's only one Chassis provider (Ginetta) but others such as Ligier are planned to join in. Also, In some instances they are actually slower than GTE Pro.I knew I'd seen LMP3 referenced somewhere (besides that picture).
What's the deal with it? Slower than LMP2 but still faster than GTE Pro? A spec class?
Interesting, especially since I thought there was already a push to simplify (and lower the cost of?) LMP2.Think of it as a much cheaper version of P2. And that's one reason why people are mad about LMP2 2017 because now it gives LMP3 an almost moot purpose.Interesting, especially since I thought there was already a push to simplify (and lower the cost of?) LMP2.
Those rebellions are abit quick
The viper is a bit slow :/
Its qualy time wasn't that far off a few of the porsches and ferraris in front so I don't think it was an engine issue, they are going to have a very hard time down the straights though. Won't be much fun at all for them.
It's faster than it was 2 years ago.I guess it is a 2013 car, but it still shouldn't be so far down in the speed trap,

Maybe that's why they were told not to ride the curbs... I can't tell which corner that Nissan is in, can I have some help? How is it even possible to bottom out so hard with the relatively high ride height of the LMP's? I'd rather expect the GT'S to let the sparks fly.

Yep, but unfortunately all the other cars have gone about 6s a lap faster in that time too! As always the rate of development even within fairly enclosed rules has been impressive.

So did Toyota state they are not going for the win either like Nissan?
I think it might be tetre rouge...Looks like the entry to Indianapolis to me.
I have put €10,000 on byKolles dominating on route to it's first win. Actually, I do wish them good luck and really hope they see the chequered flag as they get a huge amount of stick from all corners.Watch every HY get taken out by a Ferrari or suffer a comical failure of a cheap part, meaning Rebellion sweep through with a one-two.
Toyota said that last night was a race prep session and was mainly for getting the night laps completed. Perhaps I am biased but it does make sense in that they were 2.5s off their pole time from last year. Regardless, they are certainly off the pace of Audi and Porsche but hopefully something falls into place come Saturday afternoon. We will need some real luck too I fear.Shame that Toyota have taken a step backward (they were so strong and should've won last year), maybe slow and steady will win'em the race this year, Unless Mark wins it I'm fine with that too.

Granted they don't have cheat wing, but even then pace wise I don't see any issue with them. Porsche will all break down, and Audi will sneak it on some crazy strategy call imo.
