lets hope these short Japanese have an ace on their sleeve for the next session,im reffering to toyota.
The ace will need to involve a hull and rudder for today's session.

How is it even possible to bottom out so hard with the relatively high ride height of the LMP's? I'd rather expect the GT'S to let the sparks fly.

My wild guess is the rear suspension setup is really soft because of the lack of weight at the rear, but when reaching high speeds on the straights the down force becomes so great the car bottoms out on the bumps?
Judging from the raised front end raised I think your guess is correct.

This car is ambitius and hope they manage to fix all the issues but one thing is computer calculation, another is the car running on real track. There's always a difference sometimes is negligible sometimes not so.

My wanted winners are:

LMP1
Toyota Gazoo Racing

LMP2
Murphy Prototypes

GTE Pro
Aston Martin
In that vein, I'll say that I'm rooting for...

LMP1: Porsche

LMP2: I dunno... Extreme Speed Motorsports? I really don't follow LMP2 at all.

Yeah, I'm a one trick pony.

I think Porsche's got a fair shot in each of those three categories, but I have the sneaking suspicion Audi will win again in LMP1, one of the Corvettes will beat the highest-placing 911 (though not necessarily win), and in GTE Am... could go anywhere, really. But I wouldn't complain if Porsche swept the race in all categories. :)

I've subbed to the WEC stream after the issues I had with the Eurosport player last night. This is a lot better. Eurosport can go fish from now on.

KCMG is going to take P2 because they are beating a hybrid Nissan and they have LaPierre.

I subbed to the WEC Le Mans stream, too. I’ve been hearing great things about it, but I’m at work, so I can’t use it yet! :boggled:

God, why don’t they do everything at times convenient for those of us living on the west coast of the US?

Man Toyota's pace is so underwhelming this year, I'd really love to know what the hell happened.
They improved, but Porsche and Audi improved more?

But, I agree. I was hoping to see Toyota do well this year after last year's surprising performance.

Porsche is on a mission to reclaim the spotlight from their neighbor company Audi like they done 16x before...

Toyota have genuinely gone back too, not just others gaining. They might've been able to do a better one-lap run in testing, but we have no edge in stints, we have worse balance, it seems far less consistent, and it's generally just down on overall pace because of it.

I think Toyota's borrowed an old page from Audi's book and have built a tank. More reliable, more efficient, but slightly slower... if they play their strategy right I think they still have a shot at it.

And they actually have a legal car this
year.

So far, they didn't even top their own qualifying time from last year.
Everyone improved already in free practice, except Toyota.

Oh. My mistake. Could've sworn they were at least keeping up with their pace from last year.

Looks like last year, in session one of qualifying, the #7 did a 3:25.313 and the #8 did a 3:25.410. It was in session three where they set times of 3:21.789 and 3:22.523, respectively. Yesterday, #7 had a best time of 3:23.543 and the #8 did a 3:23.767. So better than their session one performance from last year, but, yeah, nowhere near as fast as their overall best.

If more efficient means going one lap further then anyone on fuel, then yeah I think they have a shot. 1 lap fruther on fuel at Le Mans allows you to go 1.5 seconds a lap slower and still keep up.
