3 cars started, only 1 has retired after 10 hours, i'm pretty sure you'd appreciate the effort to get 3 cars running. I haven't seen you slating Kolles in the same way I have noticed.

Which is completely besides the point. They are not just a little off pace. They are what? 20-30 seconds off pace every lap?
Kolles is the LMP1 privateer team, right? So a team who's budget and technical know how can't possibly compete with that of a major manufacturer. But if it helps, I don't think the P1 privateer teams have a place in the WEC anymore. I used to absolutely love Rebellion, but ever since the Hybrid implementation, they have become superfluous. They have zero chance against the P1 hybrids, and no other real competition in their class.

Taking them out, alongside the Nissan P1's until they are actually ready to compete, means more space for the various P2's and GTE cars that were on the waiting list. That's how I see it, anyway.

The excuse that they're using Le Mans as testing would hold water if not for the fact that both Toyota and Porsche, to mention the most recent inclusions in LMP1, both arrived prepared.
Were they running one of the most revolutionary racing cars in history? No.
Not respecting the legitimazy of other opinions solely because they conflict with your own view on things. Now that is the essence of arrogance. Your tweet certainly embodies the spirit of a narrow minded train of thought.
So it's legitimate to post false information and revel in misfortune? And I should respect those people? Doesn't work like that. I'm sorry if you think people can post anything they like, and that automatically makes it legitimate, and others have to respect it, but that's not how the world works.

Do not play the "I'm being victimised for having a differing opinion" card.

What's the new one? "Innovation that excites."

"Innovation that's 20 seconds off the pace that excites."
I think we got the jokes the first time round.

Funny. They are as fast as the Nissans. See fastest lap 2 columns from right.

Nissan does not care. Test. Session.

Why is it so hard to understand.

Oh, I have no problem understanding that. I'm simply quite annoyed by the fact that Nissan hyped their competition-smashing 1,000 HP FWD monster and got me all riled up for it, only to end up confusing one of the most important races of the year for their test session while they could've done better. Nissan may not care, but I do.

Why is it so hard to understand?

And sure, ever manufacturer competing in LMP1 had a bad first season. The Audi R8R and R8C were mid-field cars, Toyota's first year in LMP was plagued by reliability issues and a lack of pace, and Porsche wasn't as competitive as they should've been last year. But Nissan is really setting a new standard for horrible first seasons.

I think it's safe to say they're the McLaren of the WEC.

But then they come in using the same chassis/drivetrain layout that's already been proven for years. So there's not as much catching up to do. Nissan has gone completely opposite, starting from scratch like, what, 10 months ago? The fact they got 3 cars here to compete is a miracle in itself.

Even if they had all that they could they weren't going for the win or really anything this year. It has always been said that 2016 will be their year.

Kolles 3:36, only 1 second quicker than Nissan. So lets chuck that crappy argument out the window.

Is this the first year of the WEC using all of the cameras all-night long? I think I remember previous years only using the onboards.

Actually if you had been paying any attention the original car that was announced was a 1200hp AWD.

3:17 vs 3:36 thats 19... oww that impact sounded painful
You complete missed my edit.

In it's first season, 2012, Toyota was permanently RWD. In fact they went 4WD for 2014 onward.
Yep, I know, but RWD is easier to balance out than FWD.

But Nissan said from the beginning that this year will be pure testing for 2016.
It's not their fault when you go all 12 year old One Direction fangirl.

It's my first time around. :) Lighten up, guys. @R1600Turbo I'm sure Nissan will be competitive next year. Damn shame about the electronic issues with the hybrid system and all. Maybe they can ask Mr. Uzi and Nissan Computer Corp. for help.

I like the audi commercial with the clip of the 1981 Audi Quattro and a Spectator puts his hands behind his head like kts unbelievably fast lol.
Ah, but it was at the time. Before the Quattro, rallying has been dominated by two-wheel drive. Audi hit upon the idea of using four-wheel drive, and asked all the other teams whether it would be okay. Because Audi's only four-wheel drive at the time was a 75bhp utility called the Iltis that was built for the German Army and was entirely unsuited to rallying, the other teams said yes. So Audi went and built the Quattro, homologated it, and blew everyone away. Rallying had never seen anything like it, and it's a principle that has endured to today. When Group A was phased out, the FIA went back to the Quattro for inspiration for the World Rally Car regulations.

And that's why Audi's competition line carries the Quattro badge.

That was the original plan but it didn't quite work out the way they wanted... That never happened to you?

I applaude nissan for at least showing up instead of just saying they are not competitive so they will just quit

What's your point? Kolles can compete with a LMP1 that runs at LMP2 pace, therefore they have competition, and as such, they have a purpose? From my view point, the privateer LMP1's are at an awkward middle ground between P1 and P2. And seeing as Rebellion is the only team worth a damn in P1 privateer, it's not interesting to follow. Regardless of how much I like Rebellion.

Going for a front engine, front wheel drive car, is now considered as making one of the most revolutionary racing cars ever? As much as I like the diversity it brings, I don't see how it's revolutionary. If anything, it's just making it more challenging for the team.

What false infomation? Do quote me on any false info I've posted in this thread. And revel in Nissan's trouble? How so? I want them to be competitive just as much as you. But they aren't yet, and as such, I think they needed to wait until they can produce times that are at least remotely in-line with their compitition.

Actually if you had been paying any attention the original car that was announced was a 1200hp AWD.

Wasn't it a FWD with the KERS turning the rear wheels? Also, I forgot how much power the flywheel system was supposed to produce.

And I just don't get why are you people so defensive about it. I am not one to put Nissan down and hope they retire like other people do, but I am not one to applaud or turn a blind eye to their lack of pace either. As I said, with the budget NISMO probably has, it's not unfair to expect more of them. Oh, well... There's always 2016.

Ja ja ja was ist das? Lol
Dubstep music with a bunch of quick shots instead of showing the race.

Dubstep Musik mit ein paar schnelle Schüsse , nicht zeigen das Rennen.
(I used Google Translate, so it is probably a horrible translation to German)

Acceptable for Kolles to be slow then? Please stop embarrassing yourself... I remember you always finding something to bicker about year on year

Nissan needs to get a price for best brainwash marketing. Never seen such extreme fan behaviour. Actually makes me dislike their effort and totaly kills my symphaty dont think they need you to explain and defend them. Michael krumm for example had a lot better and objektive view a few hours ago on eurosport germany then you are postinf here. Saying they are behind scedule and dont know if the are competetive next year but happy that the cars are running and improving. But not blind defending of everything.
Holy mother watch football if you want to cheer without thinking

I've actually no idea what I just read, or what that was supposed to mean.

Huh? I guess you weren't listening, he was actually very confident about next year.

This might come as a surprise to you, but people are allowed to post their opinions on the forum. As I said, I don't think Kolles or Rebellion should be racing here, as they don't fit in to any of the classes.

Perhaps you want to refrain from being petty about someone disagreeing with you, and resorting to childrish behavior such as saying someone is embarresing themselves, solely because you don't agree with them?

Yes, however when you are cruising down a straightaway at speed it doesn't matter what wheels you power, that's irrelevant. With the AWD helping with traction in corners and on corner exit, that's where they will make up a lot of time once the system is working. The car is already fast down the straights with no KERS assistance.

And I just don't get why are you people so defensive about it. I am not one to put Nissan down and hope they retire like other people do, but I am not one to applaud or turn a blind eye to their lack of pace either. It's easier when you expect nothing more than a development year. If you hope they come in ready to fight for wins, you're just disappointing yourself.

Saying they are behind scedule and dont know if the are competetive next year but happy that the cars are running and improving.
Well considering the program is 10 months old, yeah.
