Hey guys,

I have had some new gofastbits arrive for my F430 PP600@Suzuka and have updated the tune accordingly. Its given me a much faster time around Suzuka and feels incredibly smooth !
Take it for a spin and let me know.. link to the tune https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showpost.php?p=3042835&postcount=215

I took it for a spin, and enjoyed it. A hint of understeer but that's hardly surprising with S2 tyres. For the rest very stable and predictable. I'm a bit rusty, but easily got a 2'20 out of it in free run /pro mode in a couple of laps experiment. What sort of times are 600PP S2 cars capable of?

The Yoda-like Timppaq has run Suzuka in 2.16's with the 430 (his own setup albeit)......... thats the benchmark, although the bar is well out of my reach. I'm with you skazz, low 2.20's in 888's 430.

888- I just posted this in Holden's thread also, as I'm a big fan of you both. Curious your take as well please:
Holden, did you ever get a chance to look at the Art Morrisson Vette I had requested? Not being pushy, sorry, just curious. I'm excited to go try out the C6 Vette now.

Reminds me of my next idea. I was thinking of checking with you and 888 Tuning to see if you'd be receptive to someone uploading a full game save with your respective tunes set up in the full garages? I tried one other one out of curiousity, with all cars unlocked, just for the purposes of trying out all the new tunes easily. If I get all those saved, 2 mill maxed credits, I'd think that would be a pretty good gamesave.

Or do you feel that is too much of a shortcut and people really should follow these two threads and contribute before given the keys to all there is to offer? I'm torn, what do you think? Not to take the topic off track (nor dwell on the merits or demerits of using gamesaves), it's just this is just the particular reason I see a gamesave having real value to gain a wider base for feedback. PM if you prefer, but let me know what you think. They're your tunes, so all due respect and I'd never redistribute unless you think it's a good idea to widen the base.

I drove a few more laps with other cars to get a feel for things, and hit 2.18s in the Subaru '05 at 600PP S2. I assume one of the Evos will get similar pace. I found the F430 to be faster than either the M3 or the IS-F, so definitely a good choice but you really have to take it to the limit to hit times which are doable within the "comfort zone" in the Subaru.

Of course, running another 50+ laps on Suzuka would undoubtedly get me faster, but the point of these tunes is to have a setup which can be driven under race conditions, so holding the car after being rammed and still going fast when you get the rubber-banding grip penalties while leading the race is just as important as the free lap times.

Hey Mikemav,

I have a decent tune for the Art Morrison if your interested, but N4HS has first dibs on supplying this. The car is really sweet to drive but wont win races.

As for the uploading of save games, Im not a fan of the process of being able to upload a savegame. I was saddened when I saw all the requests people were making with all the class unlocks and cars and credits. I get so much satisfaction from growing with the game and see these early stages as a sort of rite-of-passage to a greater appreciation of the game.
However i do see that it would be easy to have a preloaded garage with all the garage tunes, but these tend to evolve when track changes occur and I have some custom tunes I do for people that I dont publish. The reason for this is to help them win races. If everyone has access to that tune then they lose their advantage :)

If you could have an online garage that you could easily browse and test drive the cars then I would be fully supportive, but as far as uploading a save game with all cars and unlocks, I think I will leave this to the other garages if thats ok.

What about a thread that is simply a "Showroom" ? In here you find an index to all the published tunes from all the current garages.

I have been able to get under 2:20 at Suzuka with that latest F430 tune.
What I have found with the tunes provided to date and the times my customers run is that the car is capable of 3-4 seconds more than I can personally get from it, and I think alot of this is due to using a wheel over a controller (I use a controller). Im slowly narrowing this as I get smoother on the throttle and steering, but i think this is where a wheel setup really comes into its own.
There was another thread for PP600 times at Suzuka, have a look. I think if you can consistantly get under 2:20 at Suzuka then this is a respectable pace and will put you up the front end of most races.

I'm consistently in the 2.20's with both the 430 and the R8 tune..... .can't crack into the 19's at the moment.

i wouldn't pay to much attention to your free practice lap times apart from helping you learn a track, i've only ever been in the 19's once, i may not be the fastest/best driver here at GTP but i don't finish last, you will find that most cars respond alot differently in a race than in free practice, i think once you can hit 20/21's, then it would be more productive to race and get the practice in overtaking, or more importantly avoiding the lesser experienced and the muppets intent on spoiling your race

Understood, thanks. It was just an thought; I agree it's probably best for people to do these on their own and try them as they come out, post feedback, etc...
If you don't mind please let me take a stab at your AM Vette and I'll be happy to let you know what I think. Thanks!

Regarding the wheel vs. controller differences, I'd be curious your take on the max turning angle setting? Most tunes (yours and Holden's) seem to use the stock 40, which I often find works well with a wheel, but I notice the fastest and most "beast-like" handling cars often go for a lower number, like 32-34 range.

I know you use a controller and I use a wheel (the excellent Fanatec Porsche 911, which I was fortunate enough to beta test)- sometimes I feel the cars tend to have too crisp or responsive (almost twitchy) steering with the wheel depending on this setting. I use 900 degrees for the wheel as G25 users do as well. If the steering feels too exaggerated or twitchy when testing out a tune, should I raise or lower the max turning angle? I thought I had a grasp on that aspect, but it does get confusing. What do you think?

Not to mine. ;) :P The one rule here: You bring the car, I provide the tune. :D

Now that's a nice idea! 👍

cam i get a tune for the nsx 600pp on suzuka, id like the car to be relatively tight, but id rather have it oversteer than unsersteer, also can you do something about spinning out when i exit the turns. thanks

Sure, Let me have a day to prep one up for you.. for spinning out on the exit of curves I recommend a healthy dose of throttle control :)

I find the lower the number, the less range of movement your wheels have. In the fire-breathing dragon category of car I will tend to lower the number but it depends on the car. Lowering the number will assist in regaining control when you are flicking the wheel/controller into opposite lock. Some cars have a natrually twitchy feel and the steering to me, feels too fast hence I dial it back to make it something that feels more comfortable to me.

In its standard form this car is far from slow. Its torque is fantastic and the way it just stomps this power into the tarmac really impresses me, as does the aural symphony from that engine !

So without trying to over do this car I have tweaked a little here and there and tried to retain the same feel of the original car, just better and faster.

Its not quite as quick as my F430, but it has the goods to win a few races against the less than great drivers. For me however the real pleasure I get is in simply driving this car. When you feel the way it gets its power down Im sure you'll agree :)

(For details on Tune Index see here Tune Index Explained)

*** Edit: Whilst this tune was done for Suzuka, I have made 2 tiny changes that also make this car more than worthy of winning at Fuji in the PP600.. the howl of the V8 makes it such a better choice of car than the crop of blown AWD's doing the rounds. Enjoy !!

Copy.:P Can I ask you a question? What speed do you reach down the end of the straight on Suzuka? Your gearbox looks like a 4spd yes? Mine's a 5spd, so I'm interested in the difference with all the torque being down low.

Edit: Damn, I don't know why I didn't do that in the first place. Do you mind if I take your advice and make mine a 4spd too? Easier to control and faster accelerating. I hope you don't mind, but anything to make the Corvette faster I'll do it.

heheh its sweet as a 4spd huh :) it just stomps !! Yep I dont mind a bit if you switch yours over.
I dont have a top speed figure at the moment.. but im guessing from your edit you have already found it so I wont worry.

I will keep an eye out for you online so we can give them both a run ;)

Yeah, just over 245km/hr I think. Somewhere between 245 and 250. That's not bad. I have some more cars to release too me thinks. Yeah, I'd love a race against another Corvette some day.👍

I tried your settings for the F430 for Suzuka 600PP and liked it. Now I notice you have made a few changes so I'll try it with the new changes.
Overall your oriinal settings made the car more drivable for me and even improved the possibility of recovery if things go pear shaped. Thanks for your work.👍

Thanks for the feedback OzOldTimer, its a sweet car and will always be one of my favs :)

888, just dropped by to give thanks for a great London 500PP tune for the showdown. Very crisp.

See you saturday night!

Thanks OSG, I wasnt a fan of racing this car and the London track, but I think this tune is really solid and will definately be a contender. :)

I love London, a very hard and fast, yet rhythmic circuit. Good fun. I'm quite confident the Z4 is dialled in too. This is going to be a helluva Showdown.:dopey:

Good job on the 600PP M3 man! I haven't been able to hit that 1'55 mark yet but I just need some practice. I've been able to hold my own against the pack, usually coming out second but I just need to get used to rear-wheel drive again, this is a good way of doing it , you've certainly tamed the oversteer with making it useless like some other tunes I've tried with it.

I have been meaning to write a review in sometime now but due to work I haven't had time.

I came to '888 Tuning Garage' in a real need, I was about to participate in an friendly M3 vs IS-F race with some fellow GTP friends but I was having some problems with the M3 on S2 tires. (Enters 888).

The Garage sent me a tune for the event and and it was spot on. All the problems I had been having, spinning on corner exits and understeer was gone, the gears were also quite different than I had had on the M3 but they were excellent, I had asked the tune to suite Fuji and Suzuka which can be quite tricky due to different needs, but that wasn't a problem either for 888. Everything I asked for got delivered 👍

I must thank you for an excellent tune, great service and the speed of your service was also 100% When 888 got the PM there was only about 45 min to go but still 888 delivered

Great stuff, absolutely recommend this tune and this garage.

Thanks M5_dude, Glad to be able to help out. I hadnt given that car much credit as I believe PD have replicated everything I have read about this cars handling characterisitics.. but with a bit of tweaking I actually really enjoyed this car and will definately jump back into it for Fuji !!

Pleasure as always mate. Glad it worked out.. it was a challenge indeed getting a setup to work for both tracks.. now that Suzuka 600 is off the cards Im happy to tweak this car a little more towards the Fuji track if either of you need... Just ask !! :)
