Sorry to break the news to you but.... your racing in KM distance 400m is shorter distance and gives faster times than the offical 1/4 mile. Switch your game units to read in miles and you will get your true 1/4 mile time. But your time is still fast, just not as fast as you thought ;) Your true 1/4 time will be about 9.895

yeah i got told that but i got it faster now ill upload another pic

I feel like an idiot now that I've found where my problem with launch was...

Now to get back to 9.896 without fixing it so that when I do I get to slap people.

Remember people complaining about inconsistent launch using auto?

Well yeah. That. Except the problem was that I was consistent.

nice top end trybal, u beated me by .001 witch it means you are the fastest for now, let me give it another try and will see, im hoping to get the all mighty 9.850 and when i do ill let you know :)

thanks, and I don't think .850 is doable, maybe .860. I have every last .001 second I can get from my suspension and may be able to get .001-.002 out of the transmission but that's iffy

Yep, I'm a thousandth off you at the moment (I think, is it .864 or .865?) but there isn't a lot left in the car without a major breakthrough.

Back in GT4, we went from 8.3s to 8.2s to 8.1s to 8.0s... And each time we thought there wasn't going to be another "tenth" out of it...

There was, but then again... We know more now. That said, I laughed when I noticed that spring rate aside the car hasn't changed from GT4.

Damn you guys are well out of my league it seems, im stuck at a .887 and cant get it any faster, and I cant evan hit that time reguarly, im getting .90x -.91x quite often. Then an occasional .89x.

But I have only been tuning this car for the 1/4 mile since route X came out so I still got alot to learn.

Could I ask you guys for a review on my shift points, i'll try and explain as best I can,

Launch in 1st Drops my Revs to: 5600rpm -redline which is between 8,100rpm and 8,200rpm
into 2nd 7,000rpm - redline
into 3rd 7,100rpm - redline
into 4th 7,100rpm - redline
into 5th 7,000rpm - redline
into 6th 7,300rpm - cross the line at 8,000 rpm just below redline

Im shifting from 1st - 2nd between 45mph and 50mph and crossing the 1/4mile at a speed of about 144mph

Shift points I've got very little idea of, seeing as my best run was either in automatic or was a very lucky manual-shift run...

That said, your RPM drops sound about right... If we could get 4th/5th/6th all shortened up a bit it'd be quicker, but unfortunately the few additional gear tuning glitches from GT4 are no more.

route x is the first time i have tuned for 1/4 mile as well, with the knowledge I have gotten from running at ssr7 tunnels I am getting quite good :D

Route X is the first time I've tuned particularly seriously in GT5 whatsoever.

I did stuff in GT4 but this is a good bit different.

Yeah my 4th, 5th and 6th gear are as short as they can go, and I dont realy want to retune the whole ratios with new final drives etc as it seems as close to perfect as I will ever get.

I think to get that extra 0.020 to drop me into the 9.86's is all in the launch, and getting my 0-60 and 0-100 times faster from the initial launch, but working out how to get my launch better is giving me a headache as everything ive tryed now either makes no improvement or slows me down.

Im still hitting a max G of 1.27 so I know there must be something I can change to get that 1.28G launch. and put my 0-60 times in 2.34's insted of the the hight 2.35's and low 2.36's I get on my best runs now and the same with my 0-100 times i need to get them to drop down to below 4.85's where my best is in the high 4.87's.

EDIT: But then again looking back at Trybal's time you're getting a 1.26G launch with the fastest posted time so far. Hmmm not sure what to do now

Max G is not the number you should be looking at... And from what I've seen, is impossible without ballast.

It's all in the way you launch the car, I'll leave it at that. Mostly in what time you hit the throttle.

Still absolutely livid that I had a 9.896 tune at 600hp and have gotten, at best, a 9.899 at the full 605 with normal launch techniques.

yep, it is all in the rpm's at which you start moving (ie higher rpms = faster time) and ballast is a no-no. also both my top times (gtr and rx7) have lower g's then the next person. I could get those g's and have the same time though because the setting I change affects my g's but not my time. Just some help.

Interesting.

Only setting that puts me at 1.27 instead of 1.26 slows me down by 0.004 on the top end though. :P

Also, I'm not entirely sure it's higher RPM = win, either. It's more of getting enough wheelspin to keep revs up but not so much as to waste time... It seems like my RX-7 either spins too much, bogs, or winds up just right.

my rx7 has the tiniest bit of spin, if I use SRF I simply bog and post a way slower time, and if I increase my wheel spin, I leave the line slower

The way mine launch's is with a bit of wheelspin, then sits at the redline for a short period of time, then I shift to 2nd and i think a small amouth of wheelspin carrys over as the revs sit at 7,000 for a very short period of time (less than a second, probably less than half a second)

Too much spin then. Not sure what your 1st gear x final is but it's either too short geared or your suspension isn't right. It should almost bog.

I only ran a 10.118, but then again is not broken in, I'll post pic up soon.

10.107 this morning. Having issues uploading pics.

This car is not easy to tune, i got it down 9.822 at 127, i have friend that have hit the 9.7 . The strange thing bout this car the second gear move do not help in one bit. My gf is here so i do not get to spend as much time as i want with this car.

I am sorry but .822 and .7 is unbelievable. Either you are running 400m and not 1/4 mile or you are using SRF. Post pics please. No one takes number one from me that easily XD.

I know Evokid from the GT4 days, he's most likely doing it on the 400m and his friend is probably doing the same with SRF on.

That said, he's also not the type to BS times.

Thanks bro for having my back, for his info i have the world drag racing times in gt4, i am at work on my phone when i say this post.

It really doesn't matter if you have world times in gt4:indiff:, I want to tell you that the time you have isn't the fastest RX-7 in gt5, because currently I hold that title ... also you are in 400m and most people are doing 1/4 mile like a drag strip. No offense or anything.

For the part I bolded, when you say at 127 do you mean your trap speed is 127mph? Or did you mean to put 1.27 as in launching at 1.27G's?
As I cant imagine your getting a trap speed of 127mph with a time of 9.822.

I would assume he meant g's as his time would suggest he's trapping in the mid-high 140's. Unless he has an awesome super epic launch and no top end lol. But I have to go with the first guess.
