9.867 second RX-7 Spirit R '02 1/4 mile *OP Updated with new tune*

It really doesn't matter if you have world times in gt4, I want to tell you that the time you have isn't the fastest RX-7 in gt5, because currently I hold that title ... also you are in 400m and most people are doing 1/4 mile like a drag strip. No offense or anything.

No, you are tied with me for the record now. I've got the proof pic on my phone but there isn't much point until I've beaten you. Which may, or may not, be possible.

As for the "your records in GT4 mean nothing" bit... My arse they don't, they mean he was quick in GT4. So was I.

And I'm not exactly slow in GT5.

Spent a good few hours today trying to catch up to your time Trybal, made some progress but not much Got into the 9.87's now

And evan that run was just a one off, after it kept trying again and again with the same setup and it wouldn't evan get under a 2.4 in the 0-60

Been trying all kinds of things to get mine quicker and as I dont realy know what works and what doesn't 9 times out of 10 i just make it worse.

Trying to get my 0-60 down to your time seems near imposible for me, best I got to was a 2.346 but that was with very close 1st/2nd/3rd gear and it in turn ment slow 0-100 times of around 4.9's.

I imagine your setup is veerry different to mine. Most of my suspension setup is very amature i'd asume as alot of it is max and min values, maybe soon i'll get a break through and figure out how to get it to run faster, but for now having lots of frustrating fun trying to catch your time, but can only to so much at a time before it sends me crazy.

Finaly after many, many restarts trying to get the launch spot on now I know the best way to launch I finaly beat your time Trybal, but I wouldn't be suprised if you already got a faster time you been sitting on waiting to post

Yeah raising the front helps for the speed test with the rx7, pretty sure its useless online though, I remember taking it online right after I got that time and peoples reaction were abit "o.O okay?" and then I got wooped by someone in a rx7 with no wing

PS that 9.856 time was pre 2.04 patch

Great time KaroSVTR! After seeing you beat my time I new I had to retune my RX-7 to get it faster, it took a while, a good few hours of tuning this evening.

I'm happy with a mid 9.95x if I can get that! That would let me compete with all the Supras I been seeing lately!

Lol I dont doubt it, getting leaderboard time with this car is'nt too hard, for me all i do is wait for the 3..2..1 then launch and if done right its good for about 0.020 faster, plus the raised front helps alot too, slows down my launch but in the top end its much faster.
With a droped front I can get 0-60 in 2.339 but 0-100 is about 4.863, with the raised front 0-60 slows to 2.341 but 0-100 drops to 4.858/4.859

But getting my car to run fast online is a something I havn't learned to do yet, dont have enough local online friends interested in drag racing to practice with and I lag like crazy in USA hosted rooms so i'm stuck tunning on my own at the speed test

looking through this thread and seeing your old time of 9.865 pre 2.04 patch was without a wing, and i'd imagine your still cabable of beating my time without a wing

Ill try to see what i can do tonight, this new ways of tuning i found got me thinking of the posibilities lol, Ill see what time i get without the wing and Ill see what can i get with the wing on, i wont be able to post pics but i can tell u if it gets faster or not.

Cool man, I look forward to seeing what you do with it 👍 I feel like there is so much more left in this car to give. I know I can redo my suspension to give me higher G's on launch but not sure if that actualy helps it makes it worse overall.

Ive raced your S2K GT1 before. I can say even though i have leader boards on that car its quicker then mine.

What's so crazy about this game is that my old RX7 13B motors revved the same as in GT5. Well at least the power band was the same on my non ported motor. Shifted at 7.5k then after a mild street port I had good power and shifted at 8k!

I feel like in the game the rivalry for the 7 is the Supra. IRL it was the Supra, NSX, MR2, 300Z... Damn I'm hella old talkin bout the 90's and street racing in NORCAL!

You need to do engine break in to get the full 605 hp, and yes my tune has a wing on it.

Race it in A Spec, B Spec, or online actual race w/ tire wear turned on. Clock in 200 miles then do an oil change. Your HP will increase. Higher HP cars yield higher break in HP gains!

I only manage a .868 but after looking at maccer tune I found some diffrences to mine, Ill combin em and see what the outcome could be. Another thibg its, this car its a pain in the a** to get the set rpm on trick launch
