90s FIA GT1/GTS +LeMans World Championship Season 2

Yes, there will be some very nice times set! But this is ideal, as we'll be closer to real life performance of the cars.

Ok after tonights test session and the new update I would like to go back with the nissan.

Good practicing tonight. The times are a good deal faster this season especially with the improved tire wear. The races will be a lot closer IMO. BTW I changed your car to the Nissan, Sin.

So with the new tire wear, I think this season we'll just do one stint of each tire. Some rounds will have different 'option' tires, so instead of a minimum amount of stints, we'll just go 55-60% on the prime tires. So if it's 50 laps, at least 27 or 28 laps will be on the prime tires.

A Mercedes wins the season 1 championship. What do I receive as my prize car? CLK Touring Car. Oh the irony.

Heh, that's funny. You should have done the ticket trick! Testing went well yesterday. At Suzuka I was able to drop a 1:49.1xx with the McLaren. Sin wasn't far behind in his Nissan, he did a 1:50.1xx. I tested the CLK and did a 1:50.7xx but there was more to come, I think I should run full downforce there at Suzuka, that's lower my lap times. Gaining time in S1 and S3 is what that extra 'wing' will do.

Ok Sin, I'm changing back to the Nissan R390. Haven't been able to have the CLK turn up on the level 23 ticket.

Can you change my car choice on the front page fresh? Thank you. :)

When are we going to start season 2? Need a list of the tracks we are going to be running at.
Thank you :)

So Seth, will you be running the McLaren in the test race Wednesday?

EDIT: For the people down there looking at the thread. There are two spots open for the Mercedes.

I might run the CLK just for pictures unless someone else uses it. The McLaren is REALLY fast. Might have to cut it back to 590-595hp. I was a second faster than the R390 with Sinladar. But Suzuka may just suit the Mac. That's why I want to test more.

Hi there , just noticed this thread and I really like how your setting this series up. I'm not a very fast driver but I'm honest and clean when it comes to my racing.

I would be happy to help make the numbers up if you want and I would love to race either my Zonda LM car or my XJ220 LM .

The only other issue I think you might have against me is I am in the UK , so the time zone difference might make it difficult for me to attend every race for the season. Feel free to drop me a PM if you do want me to help fill the grid up a bit more.

Regards , Felix

Hopefully you can attend the races. The Zonda is a little more twitchy than the Jaguar IMO. But with 6 gears it may be easier on the smaller tight tracks like Laguna Seca and SSR5. Whatever car you run, you're welcome to join in. I'll put you down and add the car you want to use when you make a final selection.

Many thanks , I've replied to the pm. I'm going to take your advice and go with the XJ220 LM now and it's a British car too boot. Ironically the TWR factory is only a 20 min drive from where I live!

Yes the track is Suzuka. I'll give you details on the tire usage after I do some running there. I'm thinking we'll be able to get about 12-15 laps on softs, and maybe a bit more on mediums, 14-18. So I might just make the race 20 or 25 laps long and have everyone qualify on softs, then switch out between laps 9-12 for mediums.

You'll have to do a minimum amount of laps on each tire. It depends on how long the race is. So tonight, I'll make the race 20+1(pace) laps. Everyone will start on softs (this isn't required in the regular season though) after we all qualify. Then you'll be pitting between lap 8-11 since you have to do at least 9 FULL laps on mediums. If you can get your car to drive well on mediums and you want to use the soft tires up by hotlapping on them, do so and pit early (lap 9) then run on mediums the rest of the race. Or you can do the opposite and run more on softs and pit lap 11 and run less laps on mediums.

I'm really sorry I was unable to attend. I had no idea we were going to be racing on the same day I signed up. From next week onwards I'll block the time off in my diary , so to avoid me getting double booked.

Room is open right now.

Were not set in stone on a day of the week to race yet. So things may go your way Felix. Just give a day you'd like to race on and we may see if everyone else agrees.

Hi Fresh,

Thanks for the invite. I need to test these cars so i can pick. My guess is Mclaren F1 will be unbeatable. I have very little time this week, hopefully by next week I can test few of them. Series looks good if you can balance the performance of these cars.👍

I can run just as fast in any of the GT1's. All the cars for me were in the 1:49's at Suzuka. The Nissan I think is the fastest. Most the cars are dead on with eachother. They just have their unique qualities. Some tracks will favor certain cars. The MR's are good, but there is success ballast so no one can run away without getting some type of weight added.

Since you have done all the hard work testing the cars, I will pick the Nissan R390 GT1 :)
