Ahh kukenjitsu, I see you're also from Oregon.

My thumbs are way too twitchy to be used on the game pad. I have used it a few times with GT5 when racing a friend that I let use the wheel.

26th with a 4:51.472

Took the Praiano Tune for the x2014, dropped the final gear to 3.000 and made the front slider higher than the rear slider for wing levels. Loverlee

I think you should also have driven many with very fast cars to make it to a good end. It's all training. I do not drive a lot with these UFOs. So that will take me a week before I ride him out.

Silver on my first try, completely stupid combo again by PD. Don't mind weird things, if they're fun, but this isn't. It's so inconsistent on a DS3 it's incredibly hard to know how fast to go through each corner, you could learn, but I'd rather not spend my time doing that on such a long lap. Maybe on a modern shorter track it may have been fun.

2nd place in the US, 13th globally so far. Another fine addition to my list of achievements ;) :

BTW I'm using the X2014 with the downforce setting 1000 front, 1350 rear. To me that's the best balance between cornering and oversteer I've found after trying different setups. Oil change also gives you a 100 HP boost. Everything else such as suspension and transmission gearing I'm leaving stock.

Rain peaked for me at 38% during this attempt.

Had 3 goes...

1 learn the car
2. learn the track at speed
3. see if i could get around in a full on run.

managed to get a full lap in but I'm over 2 and half mins slower then bronze. least i had a go. I'm done.

@SVPSkins I take a similar approach to these "over the top" events using slightly "bigger picture" objectives.

1. Complete 1 clean lap at whatever time it takes me.
2. Do laps while increasing pace until I get Bronze 6:00.000
3. " " until I get Silver 5:35.000
4. " " until I get Gold 5:25.000

I got my bronze trophy last night & it did not take that long once I got that first lap under my belt (with a similar time as yours). Currently my best lap is 5:40.xxx and I've had several laps where I was more than 5 seconds up on my ghost but each time I failed to complete the lap.

I was a little surprised, compared to the Tomahawk it only took me a fraction of the time to adapt to this combo.

I'm using the setup the @DrAug posted and quite happy with it. đź‘Ť (using my own transmission settings) To mitigate wear and tear of my wheel I have max torque set to 1 and sensitivity set to 5.

Congrats to all those who've already beaten the Gold time.

@SVPSkins
I was a little surprised, compared to the Tomahawk it only took me a fraction of the time to adapt to this combo.

I've learned from comparing the two on multiple tracks that the Red Bull is definitely the easier experimental car to drive. The fan suction makes it more stable and predictable in low speed corners (which is the Tomahawk's biggest weakness).

After many many many restarts:banghead::banghead::banghead:, I've run a decent time of 5:03.745 which put me in the top 200 on the early Leaderboard:)

About five attempts before the above lap, I was running a decent lap and was thinking: hold it together, hold it together, hold it together:nervous::nervous:

And then I messed up going thru the Final left-hander before the S/F line, smacked the Armco and invalidated my lap:ouch::grumpy: I don't recommend any last turn heroics!

Hate that sickening feeling understeering straight off at 50 mph. This thing does not like trail braking. Going off in slow motion is particularly insulting in this car. One of those moments where you just sit in silence wondering wtf just happened :)
Watch those slow lefts at the bottom of the twins! (The 2 fast sweeping downhill rights)

Fan Car
Oil change
Rigidity
Camber 0/0
Toe -0.8/50
Final drive lowered to no rev limiter
5/12/12
All other settings stock.

Good for a good time and a 5:06
I had fun with this one

Almost gave up on this one out of pure frustration. In fact, one try I made it all the way around to the second to last corner where I "Hit a Barrier" :banghead:. Eventually, I ended up getting this ↓

Good enough for 348th place đź‘Ť

Spent 45 minutes on this one to get to a third of the way round twice! PD showing the utter disdain and contempt they have for the people who keep them in jobs...it's bad enough this car on this track but having to restart every time you make a mistake is ridiculous and unecessarily stupid from PD. Anyway, that's the obligatory complaint out of the way!!

So, after 45 minutes of failing to even complete a lap of any time, I suddenly had a thought: What if I could tune out the horrendous oversteer on it? So, I went to the TOE settings and set both to +0.50...and then had another thought: Where does it say that the car has to be full power? So, then reduced the power to 50% and max downforce front and rear. (the car started with DrAug's setup)

It took me a while, including a couple of times getting to halfway round...but I finally managed to complete a lap!! Not only that but the lap was a 6:57. Then, on my second complete lap, I managed a 6:30. Now, I realise that these are not fast times but, with only 50% power, to be just 30 seconds off bronze is surprising and, I figure, in the hands of someone with more skill than me, a Bronze is achieveable with these settings. Now I have a ghost to chase, I can start to slowly either reduce the downforce levels or up the power to try and bring the times down.

So, for all those, struggling to complete a lap, try the settings I listed and then go from there. The car with this setup is much closer to the RB Junior in terms of handling and speed (tops out at 208mph or so). Anyway, hope it helps someone...I'm done for today but I realistically feel the gold is achieveable eventually

4.36,590 with my modifications from @DrAug tune (wasted ~6h on this with 5 oilchanges and 1 rigidity&Engine overhaul)
Springs 18.00 20.00
Toe -0.1 +0.1
FG 2900
Aero 900 1250

nice time , did you try with minimum spring rates?
i had a few tries with spring rates close to yours and i kept running wide in the same slow corners ...

With soft springs, I have like no ffb until 45 degrees and I dont like this sloppy feeling.
I had a run, which was 3,5 sec faster but I throw it away after the rain stopped

Great time @jontikis  I dont know if I could beat this before I switched to wheel
