Sadly I'm out of this race since I only have two Red Bull cars and neither are allowed. I never golded all of the Red Bull Challenge races. Enjoy folks!

We're waiting for a f16 on wheels. Oh wait that's already:lol: ..... These cars are just fake.

Of course the Red Bull X-cars are fake. They were never presented as modeled after real-world cars, or even prototypes. Wikipedia calls them "hypothetical" cars: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Bull_X2010
Even Top Gear knows these cars are not real: http://www.topgear.com/car-news/gaming/mother-god-it’s-red-bull-x2014

The closest any person has ever been to a Red Bull X-car is the mock-up model (actually just a shell) displayed by Kaz himself at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed: http://www.redbull.com/uk/en/games/stories/1331662563667/red-bull-x2010-gran-turismo-goodwood

I think this is really a missed opportunity of PD. Had a 650 pp challenge of it and it had been much nicer.

Definitely agree. This seasonal could have been enjoyable for so many more thousands of GT fans. I think PD should start referring to these types of seasonal events as "extreme" since that's what they are. 5 minutes behind the wheel of the Red Bull, on a twisty track, with disqualification for any number of errors likely to occur 80% through a clean lap. GAH doesn't even come close.

So i take it im not the only one that finally clicked on the event after beating the other two and saying lol **** this to nopesville.

This seems to be the consensus around here. Including me. I'm not even going to try it. It's not that this challenge is so hard... this challenge is ridiculous. I have better things to do with 4 hours of my time than to obsess on completing this simulated time trial:
this does not sound fun
gaming is a hobby to me
hobbies are supposed to be fun
nopesville

I watched a video of the top time from last night (west coast USA) that was 4:52 and it looked like he was using a DS3. Either that or he was as erratic as I drive with a wheel :P
Yep, DS3.

I don't get it why the 2014 is less powerful than the others, which one is best for this challenge?
From my (incomplete) runs, I've been getting much better times with the 2014 over the 2011, regardless of the power difference.

@nowcontrol How do you get the web page to show the gifts? All mine says is "Gold: Gift Item Coupon, Silver: Color Paint, Bronze: Color Paint"?

Two observations after a day of trying to get a record (got close):
1. The weather is NOT exactly the same for everybody. The first time I raced the water went up to 42%. I restarted later (left and re-opened the seasonal) and it went up to 45%. I noticed that and restarted it again and this time it went up to only 37%. That is the track setup I got my fastest run on.

2. The X2014 is the car to use. Even thought the '11 has much more power, the '14 has much better aerodynamics allowing it to reach much higher speeds with the same levels of down force, allowing much better cornering abilities.

On a side note: where are the usual top guys? I'm waiting to see how far down they can push me.

I'm at position 1500 something right now, which is good for me for a time trial. Unfortunately its a minute and a half out of bronze. I read that some people use the d-pad for steering with these cars, I'm going to give that a go.

This seasonal creator is like that kid who wants the event to be as hard as possible.

X1, Long Sierra, with almost 50% WEATHER?

Nice try.

4.38,659 after I changed oil and renewed the rigidity. Done for today 👍

Ha! Awesome! I also got a 4:38 on my first run. (Actually, the first one went into the stones on the inside of a hairpin, and so this was really my second, but who's counting.) I used the X11. I may have to try a different one next time.

no way for me to do this. no chance in any case to get a clear round.
in my first trys i even did not "survife" the first couple of corners ...

i guess i'm way to slow for this event.

all you dude who manage this hell of an event. RESPECT !! :gtpflag:

I'm disappointed PD continues to mandate that difficult events = difficult to keep on the track (or high PP). How about some challenging events with lower PP limits?

Even though this is not the type of event I enjoy I'm going to give it an honest effort because I've been critical about the GT franchise loosing its teeth as its aged. I've longed for that sense of accomplishment (& frustration) that some of the events in the earlier installments of GT gave me.

I guess you have to be carful what you ask for, it might be much different than what you envisioned.

So PD thought:

"Hey, it`s Christmas time. People are waiting for a peaceful time at home. But hey, GT6 fans, we have a gift for you right from hell. Feel the anger and hate! Rage hard on this event! For us Christmas time is PITA time. Frustration is the thing you are looking for? So fire up your PS3 and waste hours and hours of your free time without getting any "feel good" moments. MUHAHAHAHAHA!"

 - I`m gonna pass without trying. (Thanks for the comments, saved me a lot of time.)

the red bull fan cars i can not control because i have a perminently damaged wrist and will not allow me to do this event.

i like this event , at least i can put this car where i want ,lots of fun to me compared with the 2j ... just a matter of taste like everything in life ... here's the quick tune i'm using for a 4.34 .. managed to cross the line once only tough ..

min. spring rates bb 4/8
1 1
1 1
7 7

lsd 5/12/5

downforce 900/1250

not at home now , will be editing the gears later today

lol it might work , i wanted to change it few times , but finallly ended only tweaking df so far ... and i think 900.1200 is the best .. good speed on straights and good corner speed ...

try max spring with 1 1 1 1 ... or put the front spring rate 2numbers lower than rear spring rate might give it a good feel ;)

After an hour and a half of not blinking and holding my breath going into each and every corner, I give up. Not done a single clear run yet and doubt I ever will.

If only they'd made it so you could carry on after a mistake to try to get some rhythm going.

Oh well. The Red Bulls have gone back into my stock yard. Where they belong.

4:52.209 as my first lap without crashing... geez that was hard.
6.6 Million... okay that seems fine. And a 1.6 million car.
Well dun bud and good on ya!! I can do Sierra in the RB fan car just fine (don't know how quickly though!) - but not without a few "slight" corner cuts - BUT - that won't get 'er dun for this seasonal! So we'll just keep trying to get a clean lap and accept what-ever we can get.
Like many others, we don't need the credits - QM takes care of maxing out our credits - so getting a GOLD on this one is of no other value than for our personal self satisfaction. Congrats to all those who can complete a clean lap on this one!👍👍

Update_ got Silver tucked away,, moving on toward that elusive GOLD. We have loads of time so will just "keep on keep'n on" :)

It seems like high downforce is the way to go. You get more drag, but the faster cornering speed is worth more.

Beware of turning too soon. I hit a lot of apex kerbs before I managed to get rid of that bad habit.
Yes Sir!! The car is so crazy fast, turning in too soon gets many of us a DQ.

I don't get it why the 2014 is less powerful than the others, which one is best for this challenge?
GR8 question/comment MarchingSaint - FASTEST isn't always the best - IF - we cannot keep it on track. Managing that crazy fast car may require turning it down so we can control it.

currently 950 ish with a 5:40 something. Gonna give it another go when I get home. Once you get into a rythme, it's kinda fun. Scary, but fun.

How many people have developed an aneurysm from frustration yet? I know I have.

Just simply over steering is my problem.
I had the same problem - took me 10 minutes, and umpteen attempts to get to the start line, never mind the finish!

When I did eventually complete a lap, found I was over 2 minutes slower than the fastest times......
