A day in the life of a professional Whinger.....

My major complaint about this demo is that some people are so freakin', inexplicably, supernaturally, inconsiderately fast, that I end up sliding of the track in a desperate & futile attempt to match their @$#%&! times! :grumpy:

But you do know there's a tuned version as well? Don't tell me you thought they just came in two different colours.

Dear me :D

Does anyone think that awd cars will spank the rwd cars in the full version of the game.
If so would this be good for the game and what are your thoughts on this.

That generally isn't the case in GT5P so I don't think it will be the case in GT5 either.

Get a HDFURY adapter - solved :)

I assume the price tag was written with crayon by a man who had his hands tied to his back. So he couldn't actually see what he was writing.

Thought I could kill some time in the office with a borrowed PS3, but sadly no joy.

I guess I'll have to return it to the boy I pinched it from tomorrow ;)

Do you really think that those video with desperate guy drifting TT demo into the grass half the time was any better to prove something?

Yes because at least that video had some decent oversteer & countersteering action, your video hardly had any.

Come on guys, I love the new physics, but it comes with several new flaws and oversteer being the worst of it. In fact I can't really understand what's so good on new masochistic oversteer physics to defend. Could anyone tell me something positive about it?

I tried many thousand times to oversteer my BMW's in the past ten years but it got me only once into guardrail back in year 2002 when I was trying to enter main way from sandy steep uphill 150° junction under full throttle in my ex 635CSi with dogleg manual trans and LSD. After diff locked on the tarmac, things just went out of my control, still under full throttle. It learned me not to do again anything like this, because passing from one surface type to another while sliding just totally upsets the car behaviour.

But this is not the case in the game, there is just tarmac and the track itself is three times as wide as my destiny road was. If things were in real life the same way like in this TT demo, I would be in an accident every second day for sure just because I love those innocent slides in second gear.

Tell me what's your opinion instead of negating those of mine. I don't call for any kind of arcade physics, only for straightening the wrong things up. Tell me what good you find in this new oversteer simulation, please.

The first few laps I too thought it was a bit too sensitive when trying to control oversteer through a corner but like any racing game once you get used to it and learn exactly how to control it, its no longer an issue, now I can quite easily control the oversteer (drift) through any corner or not have any oversteer at all.

In my opinion what is positive about the oversteer physics is no other game gets close in terms of the realistic feel, I was playing on Forza 3 the other day driving an F430, my friend said to me "have you got T/C on" I replied "I don't know, I can't tell" it turned out it was in fact turned off, and it's not just Forza, every other racing game I’ve played just feels dull and fake but GT5 feels alive and exciting and that’s before you even get to the actual racing. I can only suggest you practice more and remember this is not your BMW it’s a video game.

And bring down force feedback to low-5 for G25 - I'm using 4 at the moment - because the effect is too hard on higher settings and it does not allow you to have finesse.

Love the new physics, yet another step forward in some areas.
My beef is the fact that this is just GT5p Spec.4 and that's not
what I am waiting 'till March for. Nor what it says on the tin.
/semi rant

What more do you expect? No way the graphics will be a HUGE step over Prologue, and you can't tell what features the full game will have by looking at this "demo".

So your OK with a prologue (spec4) quality game? I don't mean graphics, I mean features, options,
menus, PP points setups etc, etc. As you said, who knows what GT5 will bring. Hence why this
AHEM: "GT5" demo completely fails. It should seriously have been a prologue patch as that's
all it 'feels' like. At the end of the day I just hope they named it poorly because I don't really want
prologue with 8 bajillion cars. Hopefully you can see where I'm coming from.

GT5 Prelude seems a more suitable title.
