Or compete in any relevant race at all, really...
What can it compete in without:
A; utterly destroying the field due to massive acceleration, or
B; failing to give anyone a remote challenge?

Due to an enormous price-fixing scheme, all rims now cost 500 for a set of four.
This just gave me an idea. I'm going to pop GT in the PS3, do a lap or two around the 'Ring, and see how many times I find "Call ???-???? for a good time".
Try to race a Lexus in the Championship? Can't do it; your car is American. Try to race an Acura in the same? Oh, well THAT'S okay! This, despite the fact that both companies are just higher-quality versions of Toyotas and Hondas, with different brand-names to fool us here in America.
Are you saying you can't race the Lexus in the Toyota showroom events or in the Japan championship Parnelli?
There's a feature in the game for parts that half of the cars couldn't do (Displacement Up) and I still don't know which ones can use it!
The Skyline GT-R (R32, R33 & R34) and the Honda Civic's (EG) are the only ones that can do it from memory.
about 10 cars can do it? Can any of these cars receive the treatment IRL or is it just really a gaming gimmick?
Why do some cars in this game (from games past) feel different? The Escudo is no longer fun for me and the LM Impreza from GT3, a near perfect car when tuned, feels watered down in this version.
You have the ability to obtain a car made in the year 2022.
And finally, who left their blue and yellow S2000 doing 24 hours of Nurburgring? I don't think he's in the race.
