Still not happy with the pitting incident on my end, but nothing I can do about it now. Anyway congrats Bowtie on getting your first Indy Lights points win and your 2nd pole of the season.

Sorry I was not able to get on with you guys last night. Was still very tired from staying up late Monday night finishing up some school work.

Road To Indy
April 15th, 2015

Part 2 of the 6 part manufactures series. Today I will be reporting on a manufacture Indy Lights is well acquainted with. Today we'll be talking about Mazda.

Today we caught up with series organizer A. Baldwin. He has invited us to join him at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. I tried to get him to tell me what was going on. He told me it was a surprise.

We arrived at the speedway after a 4 hour flight from Indianapolis after watching Brad Thornback win the Freedom 100. Finally Alex told me what was going on. He'll be testing Mazda's new engine for the 3rd season of Indy Lights.

After an hour of testing the car he brought the car back into the pits. He told the Mazda people how it felt and came back to me.

"So Alex how's the car feel?"

"The car felt great Seth."

"Can you confirm Mazda will be joining the paddox next season?"

"No I can't not at this time."

"Thanks for talking to me"

"Glad to do it. Thanks for coming."

"It was my pleasure."

After those few questions Alex went back to testing and left us to get some pictures. Here are a few photo's we got of the test before we left.

Thanks for reading. We should have more news coming in the next few days. Until then see you later.

Hey guys completely forgot about getting the results and standings updated earlier in the week. I will make sure it is done tonight.

Chevy coming to Indy Lights?
April 17th 2015

Chevy was spotted testing what appeared to be an Indy Lights looking car at the Nurburgring.

We don't know a lot because we didn't get to talk to anyone. But we do know the driver of the car was Sam Reed. We are currently working on getting in contact with him. Until then here are a few shots of S. Reed testing the Chevy powered car.

Why do you make a story of an engine manufacture that actually doesn't have it's engine in the car?

This just in: Mr. S. Smith's reporting found to be fraud.

All joking aside, I really don't understand what you're trying to do.

I think Mr. Smith has an active imagination; and is sprinkling a little hot sauce on an already delicious dish. Even great things can be better getting kicked up a notch, BAM added intrigue.( just fun I reckon)

It is just fun because who really knows what engine would be in these cars IRL.
PD aspirated? Actually, it's likely Renault, as that's what Red Bull Racing has been using for their engines since 2007. That or Nissan, as Red Bull Racing has a partnership with Infiniti. Another (but less likely possibility) is Toyota, due to what Red Bull had going on in NASCAR. That's been defunct since 2011, and so that's why I say it's less likely and actually want to discount it.

It's just a little in series fun. Why you gotta take it so literal?
I'm glad you recognize it as "literal". I'm actually known for being literal in a few other place and take pride in that. I was just a little confused as from where you were grabbing your information from. I in no way mean to put a damper on your fun.

I will mention that Mr. Smith came to me and asked for my approval to do all of this ahead of time, and I did allow. Who knows we could possibly have 6 manufacturers next season, but we don't know yet. I have a feeling I know of a couple drivers who are going to talk to Chevy before next season.
Finally I am planning an official practice session tonight with the room opening up no later than 9pm eastern.

So lets see. We have had 3 manufacturer announcements.
  1. Caterham is a possibility after leaving F1, maybe their sight is set on Indycar.
  2. Mazda is most definitely coming back considering they have been the primary engine supplier for 2 seasons now, based on their speed they will be tough to beat.
  3. Chevy is already in the Indycar series, so seeing them in Indy Lights would not be a surprise.
  4. Honda has not made an official announcement yet, but we do know that they are supplying Swift Autosport with engines and they ran the engine last week at Indy. Good chance that they will be an engine supplier in season 3.
