Realize most people have completed this seasonal already, however, I have several accounts and ran this one 6 separate times and noticed some unique things. On 4 of the 6 races the surface water stayed about the same each race. Rarely did it go over 60% and most of lap 8,9,10 were dry. On 2 of the 6 surface water on most of lap 7 and all of lap 8 was
90-100% which makes for some slick driving even on full wet tires. I ran several cars. Mercedes AMG VGT Race did well and the Ferrari 330 P4 was pretty good. The Peugeot 908 HDi FAP was very good both on tires and fuel (6 laps), but the best of all was the Audi R18 TDI (full 7 laps with no problem for tires or fuel)

This would work great if the right rear didn't overcook in the last few laps. What driver and car settings do you use?
Okay, so just so you know, winning with this car is not a walk in the park, as you must respect the AI because of the small size of the Elise. But if you want a challenge, here it is: PP 585---Power 319hp----WT. 645 Kg.@ 42/48---- Ht. 85/90----- DF. 175/450----- Brks.3/2 Spr. 5.32/9.6-----Damps 4/4&4/4----Bars 4/3 Camb. 0/0----Toe 0/.20----LSD 7/11/5 Transmission: Default, 130mph, 3416,2382,1812,1484,1265, Final 2750. Start & stay on tour 1st set of Race intermediates. TC@1 ABS@3 If you use a wheel, max out the feedback Took a lot of tries as the larger cars try to manhandle you in the straights. Best way is outbraking them in the slow turns.

So, I tried this again with the R18 Audi. Beat them by over a minute. Decided to let the replay run and see what would happen. It still hung and hard locked. I wonder if anyone GT6 related watches these threads? It would be nice to actually do this race. This is the first time that I can remember that a Seasonal has not worked.
FYI, I haven't won the race yet but I'm having the same lockup problem. I have to quit the game and restart. It would be nice to have a fix just in case I ever win!

I just want to get credit for doing this seasonal. I wish I knew why some of us can't complete it without a system lockup, and some of you just do it.

Cool, I had no problem taking the lead and keeping it until the tire went. I did it twice actually. I took a demanding lead by driving all out and a manageable lead while trying to conserve the aforementioned right rear. Both times the right rear was completely gone by the lap 9. Pitting once, I managed 3rd but probably could have done better.

I really like the idea of using this gift car as opposed to spending nearly what I'll win on something at the dealership.

Hopefully your setup is easier on tires.

Thanks

I've probably run this 5 or 6 times now. There is a large difference in the weather patterns. I've had one race that was on 0% moisture for the majority of laps, one that reached 100%, and the rest had two or three periods of climbing moisture to about 40% before dropping back to 0%.

Even after sustained periods of 0%, my experience with tyres other than IM has been poor. I tried RS for one dry period and although it seemed quick, there was no avoiding odd and sudden lost of grip at a few stages each lap.

I'd love to know PD's reasoning behind the forced SRF in wet seasonals.

Just won again and system still crashes before payout. Tried different cars, deliberately coming 2nd, spending some of my money first. I wish they would hurry up and get it fixed.

Had same issue with RS sudden loss of grip -- seems very odd

Holy...crap...

The definite car to use here is the quattro Pikes Peak...I had nearly a minute lead on the pack. This race is a bit on the tougher side (for me at least) but winning it has this definite feeling of accomplishment that I don't think any other seasonal has ever given me.

The 3,000,000 credit payout is also nice, considering I spent pretty much all my money on that quattro.

Another crash report here... at least 3 times. Also tried winning 3rd to see if that made a difference but that crashed too.

When all of you are saying 'crash', are you getting a repeated series of "gongs" with a GT load screen?

Off to look for a place to report to Sony... the more they get the better I hope.

Yes that is the crash... if you wait about 2 minutes the system will crash and only by a hardware (console button) reset the system will restart.

The same thing happens to me. Another thing I noticed is when I change the car settings, after I reboot the system, the settings are gone.

I still had to stop once for tires (lap 7) but won with a 28 second lead. Thanks

Idiot's (aka my) Guide To How To Win This:
1. Buy Audi Quattro Pikes Peak '87
2. Do not modify it at all - not at all - except to use power limiter down to 600pp.
3. Buy and install Racing Intermediate Tires.
4. Race it.
5. Pit after 5th lap - take default amount of gas and change of Intermediate Racing Tires
(Not even close to running low on tires, btw)
6. Win by 23 seconds.

ABS 1
Traction Control 1

Would probably have won by more with the TC off.

Prior to using the Pikes Peak Quattro, I had not finished higher than 4th.
I had tried all of these cars and, again, never higher than 4th:
Pescarolo Judd '05, BMW E92 (BMW Motorsport) '10, Mercedes SLS AMG Stealth, McLaren F1 GTR - BMW (Kokusai Kaihatsu UK Racing) '95, Mercedes CLK Touring Car '00, Audi R10 TDI '06, Audi R8 LMS Ultra (Audi Sport Team Phoenix) '12.

The system has never locked on me. Are you guys using WiFi or an RJ-45 connection to your router/modem ? I am using RJ-45.

tip I learned accidentally. Been using the McLaren F1 GTR. With one setting change I went from losing and needing 2 stops to winning by 30+ seconds on one stop. I turned my camber to zero f/r. Made a HUGE difference in tire wear with the IMs I was using.

Nice guide.

But you didnt try Alpine VGT. That car is ultra fast and very easy on tires and fuel too.

Yes it is the gongs, and then the load icon, and then the hard lock. If you get it when it is just gonging, you can just quit and restart. If you find a place to complain, please share with us so we can all complain and hopefully get this remedied.

Thanks.

I don't have the Alpine. Apparently I have not completed whatever is required to get it.

I'm sure that nobody wants to hear it but the likely cause of the crashes is your wifi connection. I used to lose PSN frequently until finally getting a new router. I didn't appreciate the TWC guy coming out and telling me to buy one either but it makes a difference. I picked up a Netgear Nighthawk that was on sale at Costco for $85 and have not had a problem yet.

It's a bug in the software, as only occurs in this seasonal. Can stop the race at anytime and return to main menu, only crashes when race is finished..........

Exactly same here, but Anyone know what the 🤬 is going on? GT Sport (7) is not launched yet and GT6 is already dying!? No 🤬 good!!!

If it's a bug in the software how come it doesn't happen to all of us?
As it happens at the end it could be about memory or hard drive space, maybe too many games installed, or saved replays?
Try delete some old stuff.

I wouldn't say it was the easiest Seasonal but finally won with the Alpine and a rainy event. Rain is your friend as the AI are not good in the wet. Used the IM tires with a one lap stop, just for gas mainly, turning laps 2:42 to 2:52. Take a little more gas than default. AI Jag can do 2:34s. An earlier attempt with IMs saw a mainly dry track and severely off the pace.

Isn't the end of the race exactly when PD is trying to transfer data between you and them? I still say it is a connectivity issue. I've not had an issue yet with a new router. I used to have a hard time doing anything on a console that required an internet connection.

So if I'm following the pattern right, I'm guessing the next race like this is going to be all Japanese racing cars at an Eifel track.

I guess I'd better ready my TS030.
Actually, if they follow the pattern, it would be japanese non-racecars (at eifel), as the american race was both racecars and non racecars, and this one is racecars only.

@Lionpaw , @RiffleKing , @Mynor Aquino , @iharrison9 , @Kevin Panting , @gladaran :
About the game crash bug, I can not say what is causing it, but I can tell you that I have a very old PS3, with almost no free hard drive space at all, and a very old copy of the game. This would make me a prime target for this bug, but I have never encountered it, or anything like it.
What I do have is a 500mbit ultrafast fiberoptic internet connection... so from where I'm sitting, that seems highly likely to be the cause if the bug.
