Been away for a long time from GT6 and dive straight into this seasonal. Seems like the AI are pretty aggressive and pushy. Used a TS030 thinking its gonna be easy. First 2 attempts ended in spins either from being rear ended or being careless while avoiding AI.
Strange that the Mclaren was pretty similar to my pace in lap 4 while tailing him but seems to slow down a lot once it is being passed at lap 5. First lap 1:19 rest 1:18s.

I tried last night with the 2J detuned to 600 pp. I went off a couple times and restarted before completing a good race. I just passed the McLaren BMW GT car on the last turn before the straight on braking. I cut to his left and ended up going slower through the turn than him. As I straightened out I put the pedal to the floor and just as I passed the finish line the BMW came screaming by and I lost by .02 seconds!
That was a 7:02.something time. I tried a few other cars and the Corvette Z06 race car brought me to 2nd place. But the front rabbit wouldn't give up.

Yesterday I won with that blue/yellow Bilstein Audi. Beautiful car, great aero, no power.. F1 rabbit went deep in the kitty litter in turn 1 so I could pass it early on. Of course it flew by me when it was back on the black stuff. It was driving like a mad man, going wide in every corner. Managed to block him behind a slower AI car never to see it again. Winning time 7:29:xx

I used the 2J again and had a time of 7:02 for the win over the F1 GT by about 2 seconds. I passed him coming out of turn 6 and was able to pull some distance on him from the Cork Screw through turn 11. This gave me enough distance for him not to be able to out accelerate me on the straight after turn 11.

I've noticed that hardly anyone is actually using GT3 spec cars for this race. I noticed a couple people used the Audi R8 GT3 - I'll have to give that one a try. Has anyone used the BMW Z4 GT3 against the McLaren F1 GTR Race Car '97? I can't seem to beat that guy with my Beemer. I love this GT3 car. I'm running the BMW Motorsport Z4 GT3 (Base ADAC / Blancpain + VLN SP9 ) Replica setup by Ridox. The only modification is I installed Stage 3 engine upgrade and lowered Power to 94.5% so I could be at 600PP exactly for this race. I've had success with a few non-GT3 cars, but I want to win with GT3 spec cars. I have several others to try...this just happens to be my favorite setup.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that I also tweaked the camber settings, but I don't remember exactly what I changed them to. The change was minor.

They're not, the GT3 category was created in '05 (i think). The McLarens in that race are BPR (GTR model) or GT1 (GTR LM model) spec, both lighter and overall above GT3.
@ALB123 , that's my favourite GT3 car too, but i got slower rabbits when i used it. Will give it a go against the F1s and post here 👍

@ALB123 , i beat the F1 GTR '97 by a mile after he didn't make the first turn, so i tried it again hoping he could keep it together and it was close (as you can see in the picture), and great fun... Heres my tune, see if it works for you:
Downshifting more than braking in corner entries helps.

Thanks for the suggestion and the tune, what a fun drive. Even a Geezer managed a 7.14 and won by 14 over the R8 field. A great way to make a million in 15 min.View attachment 425581
It isn't as fast as I could go due to dozy AI brake checking on every apex and slowing me down.

Went back and ran again. This time, instead of an F1, ford gt and Citroen it was 2 F1's.
Ran all 1:20 but the first lap.
Leading F1 over cooked the last turn on lap 4. He came in 3rd. Made the win easy that time. Weird that I ran faster last one and barley won!!
I did as well. First one I tried with. Page 1.
