Meh track. Can't be downloaded. Loooong race. +1 for a CM track PD. I've seen better, but it beats another four weeks on the ring.

600 PP Race Cars and out come the GT-Rs. The weather variable could make this interesting, though . . . and running ten laps with the thought of losing finally because of some silly strategy mistake or impatient move that led to a spin-out, can make for a suspenseful race. I'm looking at this as a sort of mini-enduro. Alright, micro-enduro. :sly:
As a grinder? Nah. As a workout? Most certainly. A GT-R a day keeps the road rage at bay.

Tough test, meant for GT500 class, sure detuned LMP cars do well, and someone will break the news that the 2J can win.

Lost badly first time on complex Course Maker hilly track, PD showing off ? Watched the replay, winner ran the whole race on IM, pit stop midway. First lap dry, then 6 laps wet, last three dry. AI cars do 2:26 on IM, 2:22 on RS. 161 mph top speed. Track very slippery if off the line.

I suppose there's no Eiffel practice track and all the learning is going to have to be in that race? My eyes aren't all that good and having to learn the track in the fog and rain is going to be rather tough for me. I'm going to try to go with a GT500 car that are being used in the race but I guess it's no shame if I need to use some detuned LMP or Vision GT car (Mazda) so I'm not humiliated. I ran a few test laps and got left way behind. It will take me dozens of laps to learn that track to achieve some competence. I see those AI cars spinning out so I'll need to be extra careful.

I already ran the other seasonals, one with a Samba and one with an Elise and I'm done with them. I'll turn all my time to this 600PP seasonal and attempt to master it. I don't need any more credits because I've got the 20,000,000 cr cars already and have around 45,000,000 cr with only tiddlers left to buy. I'm glad this is some sort of endurance race because I miss the longer races GT used to include.

Thanks for the AI lap times tip. I'll try to aim for those numbers but first I need to stay on the course for a full lap.

Darn. I can't drive at all with SRF on. The cars don't behave the way I predict it in my head, so I spin all the time.

Please explain how additional grip is causing the car to spin out. I get so sick of hearing this about srf being the great evil of gt. Bulls**t, the cars spin out far too easy without it and behave nothing at all like real cars. My work van handles better than most of them without srf on, honestly. This track and race is way too slippery and unpredictable to be in anyway realistic. I would defy anyone to do 2:26 without srf in the rain on that track. I actually got rammed by a car in a corner as I braked and copped a 5 sec penalty for the privilege, just to make it all the more enjoyable.

Enjoyed this... Had a dash stock in the Alpine VGT... Looking good on my Race Hards... bit of the old damp stuff... lets bomb into the pits only to have my French Pit crew look at the dumb Rosbif who didn't purchase any of Clermont-Ferrand's Finest wet tyres. Zut Alors!

Once decked out with A set of Inters I gambled to run these, maybe they would survive the dry track until the rain?

Car felt a bit snappy - I Put it down to the undulations and maybe cold tyres but The SRF being awakened could have been the culprit.

First try I was doing really well the sun came out... lets get some Slicks on... as my guys bolted on the Race Hards... the heavens opened again..... But it was Sunny. when I dove into the pits!

Second go I knew about the threat of later rain... so this time I chose to start on Inters again but run with a bit of care... no spins, nothing dopey... just coax as many laps out of the tyres as I could...
In the end it was my fuel that ran low so I knew midway through lap 7 I had to pit... then the track began to dry and the sun came out. Into the pits lovely Slicks... back out into the lead and pulled away. just the job!

Enjoyed the track, a mix of fast and slow. Once you learn the track those cresting sweepers are like old friends. AI seemed to go off track quite a bit.

I enjoyed this one as it is on a track that's new so no idea on lines etc. Used the Mazda Vision GT on Inters (thanks to @dave2319 for pointing it out) (dumbed down power to 50% and added ballast to make the limit)..initially thought I was useless as the gap to first was increasing due to my many excursions on the grass and it grew to 34+ seconds at one point....but, once the cars started going off track themselves and pitting, I began climbing the standings. Pitted on Lap 5 and built up a 35+ second lead by the end of Lap 9...pitted again (a splash of fuel and racing softs) as I wasn't sure if I had enough fuel to make it and came out with 14 seconds lead but increased that to 21 seconds by the finish.

I did enjoy the track once I got used to it and the Mazda on RS tyres was a blast around here. Will definitely run this one again but the payout is a bit disappointing when compared to the Intermediate seasonal event but still okay

Wow, what a LOOOOOOOONG race. My weather was all over the place. Lap 1 through Lap 3, then completely dry, then Lap 5 and Lap 6, then completely dry. Ran the TS030 with IM's, stopped at the end of lap 5 to change tires as my only stop. The AI must have stopped 3-4 times switching back and forth from rain tires to racing tires. But those IM's after half-wear and 70% or more track wetness is like driving on ice. 3 minutes plus on a couple of those laps between the slip-n-slide and pitting. One and done!

Did it with the Mazda LM55, on IM for the first seven laps then changed over to race hard for last three. Thought this race was difficult, but this combo made it very easy.

I love the track, lot of fun.
Btw, is it possible to make it available for offline mode?

I'm sure some CM wizard could cook this up in GT TPE. Still haven't had a chance to get to the Seasonals but I'm seeing that there definitely is potential to do this.
This was a stunning move - give us brand new tracks out of the blue - obviously this is the start.

1. - We have to learn them - in a limited time - so new challenge and more work.
2. - Fresh tracks - and this is great for those who are tired of the same old tracks and are unable to use GT TPE.

The only competition for new tracks would be the GTPlanet Custom Track Database. The difference being that these new seasonal tracks come loaded with PD-regulated AI instead of the AI we have in offline mode when we use a custom track. The payouts are huge, too, as well as the chips and prizes are good pickings.

As for the SRF being locked 'on' - IMO - I would imagine the AI would not perform as well if they did not have SRF locked on in wet weather enduros; we've had it locked on before in the Daytona 24 Seasonal (used for the Time-Traveller Trophy won by Vic Reign93) - and even then the AI were all over the place. SRF 'on' stops many high-powered cars from turning into Wipeout Pure machines - and worse - magnetised to the barriers upon contact. RL momentum behaves quite differently - as drivers who drive everyday cars everyday will know.

A VW Beetle with SRF on? Now that would be somewhat odd. At least to me.

Love the random course and hope they continue using these. Love it being a quasi-endurance race with changing weather. Won easily with a stock GT-R GT500 Stealth Model using IM tires for the whole race. Did not like that SRF was forced on: really seems to mess with the way I steer sometimes.

LM55 50% power, increase ballast to meet 600p, IM /lap 5 IM / lap 8 RS = walk in the park...

This track is fantastic! Plus 2 minutes, high speeds, interesting undulations and off camber hairpins makes this like a roller coaster and needs to be respected.

Enjoy!

GTPlanet is the only GT fix at the moment - I'm away from console, but all the comments in here are making me real impatient to get my teeth into this new, new, NEW!!! thing!!

Did not like that SRF was forced on: really seems to mess with the way I steer sometimes.

While SRF off is my usual mode (sometimes even in an online lobby that permits it) I've used it on and off enough to get a sense of what it really does and its advantages and disadvantages depending on the particular car/track combo.
Not sure how I would have handled a 600 PP race car in the rain on what players are saying is a really slippery track - the only way we can try this out is to make a similar track and test out 600 PP cars in the rain without SRF on. Might be a blast. :D
The option to use bone stock is there, though, as well all other assists off.
As I commented once in the AI HUb, I've tried out cars with all off and only SRF on and it's a very different experience - especially when one moves into the higher PP cars. Never mind the rain.

Not something we will have to live with right through the Series, though; the next iteration may have a whole new take on SRF, TC, and ABS.

This is one of the tougher seasonal events I've attempted in quite a while. For this, I used the Nissan GT-R GT500 with no power upgrades except an oil change. Fit with a base tune that works decent enough and racing intermediate tires I was able to win easily with a one-stop strategy. My race was almost perfect but with the tires falling off at the very end I did end up off the road and slightly into the barrier, most likely inflicting slight damage if it were enabled. The gap was 57 and a half seconds but had I not gone off I could have had over a minute on the field.

Fastest lap: 2'18 (IM)

Lap 1-5: IM - Keep it on the road and work diligently through traffic.
Lap 6: BOX - Take 75 liters of fuel, IM tires.
Lap 7-10: IM - Keep it on the road and don't push when the tires start falling off like I did.

FTO LM Edition with oil change and a random guess tune was a fun way to learn this track! Ran it 3 times to fill a very difficult and enjoyable hour and a half.

Started on RS, pitted end of lap 5 onto IM and took 45l of fuel. Final stop end of lap 8, RS tyres again and possibly some fuel again. (45l takes as long as the tyre change.)

The track went from 85% went to 0% in less than a minute in my 2nd race. Takes forever to get wet then dries in seconds! Typically this was after I got Full Wet tyres. They burned up on the suddenly dry tarmac.

I wish the weather phases were more random. Once you know the general sequence you lose the excitement of gambling. Reacting to the conditions in real time to make-or-break strategy calls by yourself would have kept this entertaining for weeks.

First couple of runs I thought I was in a Quick Match. Getting rammed, side swiped and PITT moved by everyone I passed! They also weaved in braking zones, braked early then coasted...always I get the penalty. Even from the side swipes when they moved from defending the inside to PITT me off the racing line! And once they touch the rear corner of your car, they bulldozer straight through. Unstoppable slot cars who never get penalties...trollsome.

Aside from the asymmetric penalty system, GT6 seasonals now have the same gameplay as the best of GT5 seasonals. Fewer seasonals was a smart move by PD after all.

Why in the living.... Why does PD always have events where SRF is forced on? That is so annoying.

EDIT: I tried running with the NSX GT500 Base Model. Was doing good all up until the final 3 laps. Was in 6th about to work my way up and after every freaking turn, SRF wants to kick in, and it ends up causing me to spin my car out. I'm gonna try this again with a 4WD car and see what results I can get.

Also, has anybody noticed how different PD's CM track looks at 8:00 A.M.? Does any other CM track look like this at 8:00? or is this just another one of PD's extra goodies that only they can tamper with?
