Hey what do you know, @iainoflo85 was right! It is just like an on-line public room.

Yea, these Seasonals are a complete and utter joke as far as I'm concerned.

1) AI ramming you like they're trying to drive right through you
2) Sudden speed bursts
3) Short cutting the track and not being penalized
4) Wandering all over the track
5) Slowing down to let you catch up
6) Still a chase the rabbit style race
7) Starting at the back of the pack, sometimes up to 30 seconds back

I used to enjoy these in GT5 and even grinded a few of them, but there is no way I'm doing that now, just a completely unenjoyable experience. Gold and done. These AI are hardly improved, I don't care what anybody says.

I am going to give this a go because when I saw this event, it makes me think the ts030(the hybrid one) would be good here.

Woohoo! I'll embrace this Seasonal for what it is! Finally, an event that gives decent grinding credits using a hundred different cars, various setup config's, and lots of good AI entertainment with the AI's questionable behavior. I'll challenge myself by running 550-600pp cars for the win, endless possibilities to learn new setups, discover new off-the-racing line techniques with this Seasonal. Skill, entertainment, variety, ridiculousness, this Seasonal's got it all, thanks PD!

I HATE THIS SEASONAL EVENT SO FREAKING MUCH!!!. Literally pd wake up. Fix this game ai before you make another "a-spec" race because this is the worst ai in the world.

Lol the funniest thing just happen. I had my sauber Mercedes c9 89 and I took the lead on the last lap but I wasn't getting away by a lot. Coming into the final turn a c60 hybrid came out of nowhere flew past me and hit the wall lol. He thought he was going somewhere:lol:

I had that exact same thing happen to me in one race except there were two of them, and they came out of nowhere. :odd:  There was no one close to me rounding those last two fast corners coming to the chicane, by the time I got to the chicane, these two cars come flying out of nowhere, cutting the chicane and went flying into the wall, taking me out in the process. :banghead:   :grumpy: The AI is lacking the "I" me thinks.

So you mean they're acting like the typical RedBull guys that turn up in online lobbies then?
:sly:

The AI is bonkers. Four car pileup in my first attempt (bone stock TS030) in turn 1. I had to watch the replay, it was so comical. The lead car, the Mazda, clipped the apex of turn one at 132 mph. The other three behind him followed suit, divebombing the tire barrier. I passed them all and finished 4th. It would be a very good challenge winning with that car. I shall try and try again.
PD does seem to have a sense of humor. I ran the race 3 times (Toyota GT one, Speed 8, and R18) all with a basically stock tune. Gap times ranged from .8 to 1.3 minutes.
On my first race with the GT one, the leader in an R92 kept cutting the chicanes, running off track and, on the back straight, he cut a corner big time for the lead. When we were coming down the last straight before the chicane, he must have been running about 150 mph and slammed into the wall. I had to chuckle. The other two races were pretty much the same with several cars leaving the track at once. Not mentioning the ramming penalties I got from being hit when a car cut a corner and slammed into my side.
Going to run a few more 700pp cars from the garage. 330,000 credits a win isn't too bad.

Anyone else using the Pikes Peak cars? I used the GoPro car and won by 6 seconds. Fun to drive and takes hits better from divebombing A.I than LMP cars.

I'm glad this one is new. I have already reached the frustration level. I tried the 908 HDi but it takes too long for the boost to kick in so I went with one of my all time favorites the Nissan R92CP. I got a good clean 3rd when I was 30+ seconds behind at the first timing trap. I agree with everyone about the craziness of the AI. I used parts of @praiano63 tune on my Nissan. The car runs great it is just getting by the AI clean and watching your rear view mirror. Out of 5 attempts I was hit from behind 3 times and the last most likely cost me the win, in the last chicane before the start finish line. I just won't let this race be the 1st race I run.

I pretty believe all comments of ramming AI etc. - Obviously I had tranquilized race drivers as opponents. Nothing happend and it was a really easy win with a Pescarolo C60 Hybrid Judd '05. About 15 seconds in the lead when I finished.
On the map I saw some cars with strange lines beyond the track though.
Maybe I give it another try to experience 🤬 up AI and "penalty jokes".

Did this in the R8, but i gotta mention how ruthless the AI are lol. Now i passed the leader cleanly on the straight after Eau Rouge and was just about to turn into the right hander and bang, took me clean out. I don't know if him slipstreaming me had anything to do with it and he out braked himself but it was a suprise for me how the AI think because it's my 1st A-Spec race.
Maybe the AI get pissed off from time to time just like we do

Was trying to work out if I was playing the same game...

Having a ball here, AI is superb, well, for something I'm playing on a home video game console.
But I suppose I was able to make some fun with the old GT1 conga line as well.

I have seen no evidence of all this ramming that everyone is on about.
I have seen other vehicles making mistakes, running too long into the corners, etc.
Love it!
Been sucked in a couple of times riding others tail lights, overshooting myself. I called myself an idiot and had a giggle.
I think it is simply time to become aware of what is happening behind you on the track as well.
I usually drive chase, no rear view mirror in that mode, I'm looking completely backwards into the brake zone, not ideal, but I'm still thoroughly enjoying it.

I thought, there's gotta be more to this.
Found the answer instantly.

Everybody complaining seems to be using cars tuned by others.
I tried one of those, the Praiano(sp?) R18 TDI.
A little bit of vomit came into the back of my throat as I was plugging in the transmission settings and winding on all that downforce. That's one way to take the edge off a car I guess, throw a million tons on it and a huge final drive.
Dead this thing.
Hard to battle mid corner and out in something so unresponsive.
The vomit came out my mouth as I plugged in the brake settings, I was almost too scared to drive it.
Anyway, out on the track I dared...

Bang!
There it was, I had no fn brakes whatsoever, braking from a million miles out.
What comes next?
You guessed it, being tagged on the arse from everywhere.
If you want to avoid grief in braking zones, stop spending so much time loitering in them.

The racers are loving it, the time trialists are crying foul...

Yeah, AI being completely on rails just doing its own time trial instead of reacting to what is happening around it is realistic?

And btw, it's not because of the braking zones that you get banged in the arse. I mean yes, AI is programmed to brake late and overshoot the corner, you brake normally to take the corner and get bumped in the back by AI who would otherwise overshoot it and shortcut the corner. That might be realistic online race, but not realistic to the real world. The AI feel like some kiddies who don't know how to drive with these vehicles, constantly overshooting corners and crashing in the first hairpin...

I had this experience in completely stock 908 HDi FAP - doing good normal laps.

Did it with a Chaparral 2J. When I was exiting the 3rd lap bus stop chicane, I found AI's Minolta Toyota ramming my left side cause he cutted the chicane and found himself completely perpendicular to me...no words.

Ugh. Haven't gotten better than 10th place in this event yet after 5 tries. I just don't have the finesse or skill to drive Race cars. I'll keep at it. I've tried with the 787B and the R18 Anniversary. I don't have many other "race" cars in my garage because I don't like them.

Yeah, that's actually quite revealing. Nothing to do with "a tough race", it's just about lucky timing; If you happen to be in a heavy braking zone at the wrong point in the race you get 🤬 by the AI. In other words, it's totally random, a bit like russian roulette.

PD

I'm in doubt ... are we racing against AI or against the B-SPec level ZERO :confused:??

May be a new funny version for ongoing LICENCE CONES masked by CAR :eek:

"The BSpec is among us .. already  .. "

Pretty much. That's the reason why I don't race online and is the same reason I won't be repeating these.

Race in a club or league and that does not happen, and on the occasion it does, most leagues have procedures in place to deal with it. Organized online racing is totally different than joining random lobbies.

This is a true statement.

But if I have two hours right now to play GT6 and I want to race a tuned Miata RM, what are my online options?
I could create a room using the exact specs and wait. Maybe 2 other people join the room. My two hours would be up and I'd have not raced even a single competitive lap.

THIS is the online experience for a large portion of people. You have to race within defined PP limits or not race at all.

Offline is significantly more rewarding for the vast majority of players who cannot schedule their lives around playing GT6. And that's a piss poor statement because Offline is empty.

True, I race a lot with friends in organised series, but they mostly involve certain types of race cars - sometimes I like to just race street cars and public lobbies are the only option on that front.

Hi gheeDi,
Ai not reacting to you?
Reacting to me all over the place, having great mid-corner battles, slip streams, braking duals(inside and out), avoiding cars in trouble/re-entering track, avoiding people out-breaking themselves, right through every difficulty level.

On rails?
Can you just check the disc loaded in your console for me?

What set-up on the 908 were you using if you dont mind me asking?

I tried stock 908, ironically, the quietest race I've had so far...
Please indicate where the AI is playing dirty.
The only one playing dirty in this is me.
Gave a couple of taps, never penalised once, been tapping all over the place, not getting many penalties at all, couple unfair, but that's sport.
If you're getting shunted from behind into braking zones you are breaking too early.

Please pardon my driving, been trying to put a stock EF8 through intermediate for about an hour now, was a horrible shock to the system jumping straight into this. Sorry for vid too, phone is all I got here.

Won with a 659PP BMW McLaren F1 GTR. Overtook the leading Pescarolo C60 in the last lap when he took a trip to the sand. Then at the bus stop chicane, that fool rammed my back at full speed. Luckily I recovered just in time and he didn't.
