So far easy wins in:
- Mazda 787B
- Nissan R89C
- Bentley Speed 8
- Mercedes C9

All cars have Stage 3 turbo, max downforce and LSD at 8/16/20.Rest of the settings were stock.

Yet to try: Toyota 7, 2J, Toyota T030, R18

This race is giving me a fit. I can always finish 3rd but nothing better. I am going to try the 2J (any tunes would be appreciated) and see what happens. So far I have used the 908 HDi, the R92CP, the Mercedes C9 all consistent 3rd place.

What I would like to know what color the paint chip is. So for all of you that have golded this beast please tell me the color or a car picture with the car painted in that color. Also what car you used and the type of driving rig you used. I am using a DFGT wheel. I've already taken 10 attempts so far. Thank you in advance.

Here is the tune for the 2J by Praiano:

And a different one by krenkme from Clueless Over the Hill Outlaws:

I personally used the TS030 with this tune:

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/tunes/toyota-ts030-hybrid-12.445/

Praiano has a few other 700PP tunes that could also try for the 787B Stealth, GT-One, Minolta, Peugot 908 or 905B which has changed its name in GT6. Anyways, you'll find the right car/tune/lineup and you'll do it just fine.

I used a wheel for this as well - and don't worry about being penalised for cutting the track, you can cut as much as you feel you want to.

Well, to be honest, when I bougth the car some monts ago, I changed the brake balance to 6/5 and adjusted top speed to 370km/h (after installing high turbo). Also changed oil.

Just reduced power to 88,9% to fit this seasonal. Did not change other settings. Mind you, this car has only 3 gears...

Succes !

I played this race yesterday. Another boring catch-up race with bad AI.
I found it interesting how the AI cuts the corner after the long straight & the chicane at the end of the lap and keep driving normally afterwards without any sort of penalty.
Way to go PD, that's really realistic.

Deltawing is really special, I hope more people try it. (Tuning is crucial, decelerating side of LSD should be higher to stabilize the tail when braking) When you get used to its character, it gives you the highest cornering speed. Just fantastic.

Tried Furai 3 times tonight. I managed to get a win in the 3rd try. This car is very well balance, planted and so smooth in cornering. But it's not fast enough in the straight, so the lap times are not very good and I can't get rid of the AIs. Messing with them, I got 2nd and 3rd in the first 2 attempts. Finally won in the 3rd run.

Five Laps of Spa from the AI's point of view:
------------------------------------------------

The grid:
-----------
1. Minolta Toyota
2. Sauber C9 Mercedes
3. Pescarolo C60 Hybride
4. Nissan R92CP
5. Pescarolo Sport Courage
6. Bentley Speed 8
7. Pescarolo Courage Judd
8. Mazda 787B
9. BMW V12 LMR
10. Toyota GT-ONE
11. Peugeot 908 TDI
12. BMW V12 LMR

The Pescarolo Hybride starts the race in third place and gets a good launch off the starting line and chases hard thru Eau Rouge. After a good draft up the Camel straight, the Pescarolo Hybride drafts past the Sauber C9 Mercedes at the end of the straight and takes over 2nd place in the race.:)

The Pescarolo Hybride catches up with the 1st place Minolta Toyota near the end of lap # 1, and closely follows the Minolta Toyota during lap # 2. The Pescarolo Hybride is clearly faster than the Minolta Toyota, but can't find a clear opening to get past.:(

At the end of lap # 2, the Pescarolo Hybride completely misses his braking point for the final chicane, and blows past the 1st place Minolta Toyota, cuts thru the final chicane, and takes over 1st place in the race.:(

The Pescarolo Hybride accelerates up the S/F straight and then brakes waaay too late for the 1st corner, so he slides off the track, out onto the huge run-off area. This allows the Minolta Toyota to power back past, so the Pescarolo Hybride is back in 2nd place as he struggles to get back on to the track proper.

Once the Pescarolo Hybride is back on the track, he has trouble shifting, so he stays stuck in 1st gear, doing about 55 mph, and revving off the rev-limiter, as he heads towards Eau Rouge. Just as he gets to the building on the right with the red Coca-Cola tower, he gets rear-ended by the 3rd place Sauber C9 Mercedes who is doing 135 mph at this point. The Pescarolo Hybride gets spun around and ends up facing the wrong way on the track, while the Sauber C9 Mercedes continues on.

The Pescarolo Hybride gets underway again, and this time, doesn't limit himself to first gear, so he streaks off towards Eau Rouge at speed.

On the exit from Eau Rouge, a BMW V12 LMR being driven by GTsail drafts past, so the Pescarolo Hybride gets dropped into 4th place in the race.

At the end of lap # 3, the Pescarolo Hybride catches up with the 3rd place Sauber C9 Mercedes who has also been recently passed by GTsail's BMW V12 LMR.

On lap # 4, the third place Sauber C9 Mercedes skips braking for the tight right-hander at the top of the course, so he drives out into the sand, which allows the Pescarolo Hybride to drive past and take over 3rd place in the race. The Sauber C9 entered the turn at 150mph, so he had no hope of getting thru the turn.:dunce:

At the end of lap # 4, the 3rd place Pescarolo Hybride is doing 175mph as he enters the final chicane, so he has no hope of getting thru and drives straight ahead into the wall at 100mph.:ouch: This loses him a position since the Sauber C9 Mercedes negotiates the final chicane properly.

Lap # 5 is un-eventful, so the Pescarolo Hybride finishes the race in 4th place some 30 seconds behind GTsail in his BMW V12 LMR.

Pescarolo's lap times:
----------------------
Lap # 1 -- 2:09.742
Lap # 2 -- 2:11.338
Lap # 3 -- 2:26.544
Lap # 4 -- 2:11.332
Lap # 5 -- 2:10.xxx (approx.)

The AI certainly don't drive like experts.:D

See you on the tracks!

Tried the McLaren F-1 GTR BMW Kokaisu last night and could only pull a second place finish using all the downforce available with camberless Praiano Tune. Definitely not as much stick as the other cars.
Cheers, Mustangxr

what setup did you use with the Toyota Minolta 88C-V '89 To win at "The Spa " (I have a ps3 game controller)

Great fun, entertaining watching the AI destroy themselves and trying to take you out in the process. Thanks PD, the last few seasonals have been great, keep up the good work.

I' ll check tomorrow to be sure, but as far as I remember mostly stock. I only changed brake bias to 6/5 (what I do with most of the cars).
Using T500RS... no aids, just ABS1

You should just use the 2J right now, I just won the race with it, 1st place with 1 lap left, and most importantly: I left the 2J 100% stock.

What a wild ride! AI started drinking early today. Used Monster Sport SX4 Base Model '11 because it hugs the corners at laughable speeds. Should have come in second to C60 Hybrid, because it was way ahead approaching the last chicane. I thought, what the heck I have only one chance, so I went max-speed, aimed right at the grass. Got a 10 second penalty that accomplished nothing! Flew straight over the finish line 2 seconds ahead!

Just tried the Audi R8 LMS Phoenix in Nürburg 24' setup.
Not fast enough, but I had a nice race fighting AI.
Got pushed out of the way twice, received two penalties for that, did not manage to be faster than 2,09 but was going to finish 4th when the Jaguar and Bentley cut the last chicane, placing me only 6th.
Leader was some 30 seconds ahead though...

Toyota TS030: struggle to finish 4th,

McLaren F1 GTR Race Car 97: really easy win.

Edit:
Just won with the Nissan Yellowhat YMS Tomica GT-R (high turbo, rest stock) 659PP/897 Bhp.

Past the Pescarolo C60 just before the last chicane, which he clearly did not like, he banged into me, pushing me straight trough the chicane. I was not penalized for that and passed that way the leading Sauber Mercedes C9...
Nice touch AI ! :D

Won it with R18 on my second try. It feels that when I install the Mid-rpm Turbo it loses some grip on turn-in which I find strange. Maybe it is just my imagination but I feel it differently on corners...

Fantastic! Won this in Furai? In GT5 I drove it enough to appreciate it. I will buy it sometime soon to put it on pace and see what's line in GT6.

I used the Praiano tune with zero camber. The 88C-V is one of the steadiest that I have tried so far. Lots of yummy torque too!

WOW! You are amazing! You must have some incredible tunes as well!

After all the lm cars the furai (maxxed, praiano) was the one that put the most smiles on my face... no driving aids with a ds3...

The Toyota TS030 was the only car for this challenge when I saw it. I tweaked the existing TS030 tune to work a little better for me personally with a high DF, short gear setup. You can try it here;

Toyota TS030 Hybrid '12 Spa Expert Challenge Tune

The AI is comical but I liked the extra thinking involved to avoid them in La Source, Les Combes, etc. At first reminded me of racing Club 100 :indiff:, but as I got used to it I thought, if that's the way you wanna play, bring it :sly:

I use a T500 wheel, one of the options in GT6 settings for the wheel is Power Assist Steering.
Not to be confused with the Sim/Pro/Am settings for the DFGT found in same menu.

OK, Thanks for that explanation. I'm running a G-27 so don't know about Thrustmaster stuff.
Cheers, Mustangxr

Actually it also applies to G25 & G27. :sly:

Go to GT6/Options/Steering Controller/Steering Characteristics.
Then place the cursor over the on/off toggle box below Power Assisted Steering...

5 wheels are highlighted including the T500, G25 & G27.
