I've tried using the Mitsubishi XR-PHEN Vision car. I can consistently get 2nd place just can't catch the leader. The closest I've gotten so far is 2 sec. behind and as far back as 16 seconds. Since there is no tune for this car I've been playing with the final drive. Maybe someone else will give this car a go and give some feedback. The car handles great and that 8th gear can sure give you some top end. Now to find the sweet spot with the gearing.
I went and bought a new Lexus Vision GT to try out @shaunm80 tune. The other one had lots of miles so I wanted a fresh canvas.I drove the Lexus Vision GT with the tune by @shaunm80. By far the best handling of all the cars I've used. To me it's even better than the Zytek Nissan. Thank you @shaunm80 for another awesome winning tune.

For this event at least, I think I've found my favourite car with out going to the obvious choices, like the 2J, LM55 or the TS030.
I totally forgot this was a race car, so i though ok lets give it ago, as i was after something fresh to use. Did 3 races with a random tune of my own, nice fun controllable sideways action from this delightful car. a car i will be using alot more in the future for 600PP events

I followed @SVPSkins suggestion with the Alpine Vision GT. I used a slightly modified version of @Otaliema TT tune and this is a great and fun car to drive. Here is the link for @Otaliema tune; https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/resources/alpine-vgt-race-car.1140/
