Oh, so you happen to brake?

Very lightly, :sly:

@WhoosierGirl' Have you tried the Mitsubishi FTO Super Touring Car?

Unfortunately not, I am going to miss out on using a bunch of cars I wanted to try. I haven't touched the wheel since I did a couple laps on the Nascar TT on Wednesday night. I did have one other car I hadn't posted though, it is 4WD like the FTO, very fun to drive...the 93' Skyline Calsonic GT-R.

Now that I know you haven't raced the FTO which would embarrass my time, I decided to post a Youtube video of the FTO at Nurburgring! Don't make too much fun of my driving.... I'm old and disabled! :(

It is so frustrating how bad I am at driving, considering I have been playing GT6 for over a year. In this thread there have been many victories posted that have used cars I have tried and I always end up coming up short. Sure, I can use the TS030 or a different ringer and post a victory. I'm talking about cars like the Mercedes Benz 190E Evolution II, Autobacs Garaiya GT300, Lotus Elise 111R, etc. In fact, I have posted times that are relatively close to what I've seen on some of the screen captures posted here, but for some reason there is always an AI driver who is faster. :(

Fortunately, second place still pays a decent amount of credits. Yet, I can't help but feel like I'm just not getting any better as a driver. I seem to have peaked. I've always been quite lazy with GT6. I don't put ANY effort into the Super Lap Seasonal Events. I'm a 1 lap and done kind of guy. Maybe I should start putting more effort into those. :boggled:

Or maybe I just need to accept the fact that I stink!

I was starting to get a bit frustrated trying all low pp race cars and not winning for a while. Then I stumbled upon something special. This car handles like a dream.

Sometimes you just need to enter and re enter the seasonal multiple times to get a slower field. Keep trying until you get the 2000 Ford Falcon XR8, or B. Wozniak in the GT-R R35 Touring car on the pole. Your odds of winning are much better, provided the rabbit isn't starting in 2nd or 3rd place. Also... If you can go ever so slightly slower in the first third of the race, then pick up the pace in the last third of the race, you can make up ground on the rabbit, because the AI seems to judge your pace based on the first third of the race. Little tricks of the trade I've learned from racing this seasonal 90 millions times with 50+ different cars!

If you end up coming up short with any other car than the TS030, then you are not bad. It is (was) a tough one. 👍

Edit: not sure now if I understood correctly "to come up short". So I rewrite my post like that:

If you end up second with any other car than the TS030, then you are not bad. It is (was) a tough one. 👍

PS. As @DisabledRacer implied, especially when Mr David is in the grid.

I can't seem to do better than a 7:15 lap in the Garaiya. I invariably end up in the grass at some point -- which I swear acts as a black hole -- and that costs me 3rd or even 2nd place.

I had to turn on AS to mild. Any tips on transmission tuning for this one?

So in final assessment, would the TS030 be the best car to get the fastest laps in this event?
Yup, TS030 For sure! I pulled a 6:23 today on my 4th lap. The 787B (non stealth) was only a few seconds behind. The TS030 can step out a bit after heavy braking when the battery is all charged up, other than that little detail to keep in mind it's a cakewalk.

Just for a laugh, I tuned the Mini Clubman VGT according to Praiano and stuck it in the race to see what it would do. I pulled a 4th and just missed a third with it on my first and only lap. Very strange to go whizzing by Quintarelli and Yamamoto with the Mini after how fast they used to be in the Suzuka weather seasonal?? Not bad for 540 PP methinks?
Cheers, Pete

The Mini Clubman VGT can win this seasonal event. I used my own tune and barely won against an easier field. I've seen some much faster times than what I had, so a finely tuned Mini Clubman VGT can most likely win against any field, other than one with A. David racing the TS030.

I am enjoying the last day with this wonderful seasonal event.

I think I have come close to my limit with the TS030, shall have a few more tries to see if I can get below 6.55 in total time.

****ING A!!!!

1st right at the last ****ing minute with the Garaiya. 6:50 lap, 7:25 overall. I had to restart right at 10:52pm because of a mistake, so it was literally my only shot and it turns into my best lap with the car.

Goddamn, you can't make this up. In final assessment, I ****ing love this car. :D

Surprising victory last night with the TVR Tuscan touring car (Praiano's  tune, missing him). A last shot that put a smile on my face. :) Good event.

@WhoosierGirl Thanks so much for that suspension set up. I love a car with a little bit of slide to it. Makes for really slick looking replays if anything. I'd probably be a decent drift racer if I could ever get a wheel mounted on something stable. It's appreciated having a set up that I know can handle that type of driving without racking my head against the wall for a few tries first. I tried it out and I see why you liked that car so much. Damn, it's fun. Never thought just jacking the springs down all the way would help that car so much. Feels like driving my rally racers now, (which is awesome).

Oh and don't let people raz you too much about the automatic, I like it on auto as well and I'm still doing just fine with the golds.

I also drive automatic. I used to be manual, but found I could focus more on getting a good line wih automatic. Proper transmission tuning does the rest.
