Because GT2.

Did a few laps with Corvette Stingray Racer Concept '59, a handful but fun. Lot of possibilities if you put a few 100 km in it. Watch out for the high kerbs and touching grass. I was taking foot (finger) off the gas a bit on high speed turns. Have to brake in straight line. maybe even sooner than normal.
Only 1 flip over(kerb) and 1 crash , and that was pretty conservative driving.
2015-03-04 00.50.57.jpg 2015-03-04 00.53.16.jpg Lot of time left in it. Overtook him just at the bridge .

@Motor City Hami tune mostly  https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...-midfield-raceway.291066/page-14#post-9531463

I think I going to put a footnote about image size in the OP for all seasonal events from now on as these huge images do get a bit much for my connection too, and i'm sure there are many others who have the same issue.

BEFORE POSTING IMAGES PLEASE RE-SIZE them to no larger than 960px and less than 500KB filesize.
Alternatively, you should use the 'thumbnail' selection, but if you insist on posting large gifs and full size images then please hide them within a spoiler button. THANKS.
Standard GT6 photomode shot is 1080px high, are people supposed to crop or scale a measley 120 pixels?

@ SW__10 tune from Apricot Hill Raceway https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/thre...icot-hill-raceway.320026/page-5#post-10258903 .

I just changed a few things. RH 90-90, LSD 5/35/5 , you may need TC 1-3 for this. TRANS same I just altered gears a bit. 6725,4888,3957,3228,2629,2127 , final 2000 .
Hit 314kph about. 196mph

I ran the same 6:46 I've been running for days (hell, I think I could run that time in my sleep now). Top speed was still 179/180 mph on the flat part of the straight, not sure how you're getting 196 mph out of it, but I'd sure like to know! The tune is good for sure, if a little loose, I used TC on 2.

They are 1920px in width.... so 960px is a 50% re-size to '960 by 540' .. 👍 My screenshot in the OP is that exact size and it's perfect for the topic.

There really is no need for images any bigger than that in any sub forum other than photomode.

@UltimateLurker would assume I am carrying more speed through the turn leading up to the straight . Oops Df 350-500

It's not the speed out of the last corner, it's the down-force for sure. Just did a lap with 350/500 and I got to 196 mph over the ill, but I absolutely hated the car and the lap. Taking away the down-force destroyed the car completely for me. I'll keep my slower time and have much more fun with more down-force, no white-knuckle crap for me!

Having said that, I respect your time even more now, but I won't be trying for it for sure.

I have a question that I can never seem to answer with my own driving. Does anyone in here know if the AI drivers react to you flashing your headlights? On a race like this there are several times where I'll be approaching a car at a speed ridiculously faster than he is travelling. Let's say that he is hugging the left curb and I'm flying up to him hugging the right curb. If there is a turn coming up that veers left, you know that jerk is going to stray over to the right and cut right into your line making you toast your brakes, killing all of your speed and adding several precious seconds to your lap time.

I feel like there have been a couple of times where I flashed my lights and then the car didn't move into my rapidly approaching driving line for the bend in the road. Perhaps he just wasn't close enough to where he's programmed to move over for a proper line?

I know that repeatedly flashing your lights isn't some miracle way of keeping AI cars out of your way, nor should it be. But, I've been curious for quite some time to know if there is EVER a time when the AI will adhere to proper etiquette on the racetrack.

Another car I tuned for this event. Won the event a few times with the TS030 Hybrid '12 and the McLaren F1 GTR BMW as rabbits. Its a bit more tame than my BMW, but not much....I just cannot stand a tight car. :mischievous:

Holy 🤬! This thing is so unbelievably good. It handles great! It's not as white-knuckle as the Z4, mostly because of the extra wheelbase. The torque is amazing too. Good job mate!👍;)

Thanks my friend, glad you like it. 👍

All hail the King! AWESOME JOB!

Fantastic race! Well done!👍

Last night I thought that I would give this a try, and even after two hours of driving,:banghead: I wasn't able to win the race with my StingRay Racer:(

The best I could do was a second place some 3.8 seconds behind the race winner.

The StingRay Racer has enough speed to win this race, I just need to be able to drive better and keep the tires on the tarmac instead of using the roof for emergency braking situations.:dopey:

I keep making minor adjustments to my StingRay's tune, but none of the adjustments seem to improve my abilities to keep the StingRay Racer pointed in the correct direction.:ill:

Awesome is right!

Had a little fun last night, I love throwing cars around on this track.

Lotus Elise 111R Race Car

Honda S2000 LM

My favorite so far the Autobacs Garaiya, you can really slide around corners with it.

RX7 GT300

Wouldn't be right if I didn't post a video of my favorite place to spin.

Forgot to save the video with the IS300 GT300

I've Won!!!:):):)

It took me another hour this morning, and I had to cycle the grids to find a slower rabbit, but finally I was able to cross the Finish Line in first with my Corvette StingRay Racer!:)

My lap time was a slow 6:58.061, with an overall time of 7:32.794, which gave me a 1.9 second win!:)

I caught the first place car just before the Antoniusbuche overpass, but didn't pass him until the Hohenrain esses, where I slid on past him to take over the race lead and streaked to the finish!:)

My fastest lap so far with the StingRay Racer was a 6:55.020, but it was in vain since it was against a rabbit that was too fast, so the second place trophy was my only reward.:(

Here is my tune for the Corvette StingRay Racer:
------------------------------------------------------
Ride: 85/85
Springs: 8.0/5.0
Compres: 4/2
Extension: 4/3
ARB: 6/4
Camber: 0/0
Toe: -.02/.15
Brakes: 4/2
LSD: 12/10/37
Wing: 0/0
Ballast: 5 @ -5
Transmission: Auto set to 224mph
Then lengthened 1st and 2nd gear
Added all power parts available
Improved body rigidity

Whew.... that was tough!
See you on the tracks!

Nascar racecar's are NOT all the same.

Here is the 2013 #18 and the 2011 #83 with no oil change set at 600pp.
The #18 ends up with 714hp and the #83 717hp, that wouldn't happen if they were the same.

View attachment 320410 View attachment 320416

Here is the same cars using the best setup I have for the #18 car, ran them both twice and both times the #83 was 2 seconds faster. Using the best #83 setup resulted in a 7:09 for the #83 and an awful 7:17 for the #18.
The #18 is a very good road race car but the extra speed of the #83 helps here with the high speed areas.

View attachment 320418 View attachment 320468

Here is both cars at Daytona 100% new and stock, no oil change with RH tires, no aids.
The #83 is very loose compared to the #18 which is much more planted in the corners.
Simple test to show the difference in the cars.

This is an old picture of the 2013's with 615pp and 616pp from the original GT6 disk, before any updates.
Any nascar that had 615pp is slower than the 616pp ones. The 615pp cars are the #18, #99 and #43.
The 2010's and 11's also had some 615pp cars, I can't find the picture though.
After the first update all of them start out at 620pp and 627pp with an oil change.

I've been looking into whether Nascars are all the same....

My conclusion is, that there is quite a marked difference between cars
The 2011 Brian Vickers #83 RED BULL TOYOTA CAMRY....is quicker around Daytona than the..
2013 Kyle Bush #18 M&M's TOYOTA CAMRY.

My testing:...

Method:

Bought both cars. Went straight to Single player, Time trial, Daytona.
Didn't touch car settings...didn't even have a look.
Took off the TC........only left the ABS at 1. All other aids off.
The first car out was the car I was in. 2013 #18......did 10 laps.
Exited to change car, returned and did 10 laps in the 2011 #83.
Exited, changed back to 2013 #18...loaded the 2011 #83 ghost.
...chased it for 20 laps.......not a chance of catching it.
Exited, changed back to the 2011 #83...loaded 2011 #83 ghost......
.....chased it for 20 laps.....caught it and improved the time by 0.007.
(Every time I re-entered TT mode I checked driving settings were correct).

Data:

Both cars fully stock. No oil change. Only driving aid ABS 1.

2013 Kyle Bush #18 M&M's TOYOTA CAMRY.

session 1. 10 laps. Best time 0:46.450
session 2. 20 laps. Best time 0.46.459

2011 Brian Vickers #83 RED BULL TOYOTA CAMRY.

Session 1. 10 laps. Best time 0:46.083
Session 2. 20 laps. Best time 0:46.076

My suggestion to anyone into Nascar is, to replicate my test....
You may find you have to rethink which car you choose to race with 👍.

Hope my test helps any Nascar fans out!

Amazing videos again @WhoosierGirl, I think your secretly a stunt driver with as many of those spin videos you have posted. I haven't had a chance to do the latest update and was wondering if the NASCAR's would be changed again, thanks to you and @SW__10 for answering that question.

Also thanks @GTP_CargoRatt for posting the Viper setup, I have been looking for one for it.

You're welcome. :)

Love to have your settings for that autobacs. I've always loved that car, but I never could get it to do corners like that. I love a little slide to a car with some oversteer if I want it.

You know what's funny about that car. There is a Japanese game called Kaido Battle II, it's a drifting game of all things, only works on the Japanese console. Anyway, the ASL was my favorite car on the game, handled so awesome. I've always wanted a good tune for it on this game. Maybe WhoosierGirl will share.

Hey pinky girl! You are still rocking hard on GTplanet in these seasonal thread. I wish alien guy is still on here lol.
You are so fast as usual. These videos are helpful. Can you also do them in bumper view so slow guys like me can learn how to go faster and pass the AIs better? Thanks.

No aids. Tune by me. In P1 Corvette Z06 (C6). P2 Mercedes Benz SLS. P3 Nissan GT-R Nismo. Pass for the win at Dottinger Hohe. km 20. Winning margin over the Corvette 00.419.

Could you also do this in bumper view? I would like to learn about your tune too. Long time no talk, my friend and I hope everything is good for you:)

For fun, I purchased the Chevy Corvette Z06 C2 Race Car and gave it a quick tune.

After a few failed attempts, on my third full lap I was able to power past Cooper in the GTR Concept LM Race Car for another win!:)

I ran a 6:45.571 lap with an overall Race Time of 7:20.404

Margin over the GTR Concept was 0.824 seconds:nervous:

A much easier drive than the StingRay Racer:tup:

You get to power past the modern race cars with hardly a worry that impending doom is likely to occur every time you step on the brakes:nervous::)

See you on the tracks!

@WhoosierGirl I watched your Lotus video. I swear, at some points it looked like a poorly budgeted movie where they just speed up the film to make it appear like the cars are going fast on public roads. My God, you can really push that car to the limit. I swear, I was sitting here thinking "how the F does she maintain such high speed around some of these corners?! I know those corners like I know my face and I would go flying off the track if I tried to carry that much speed through that corner!!" I couldn't even watch the others... I would end up feeling bad about my own driving. :banghead: :D :bowdown::bowdown:

I did the Nurburgring seasonal race on GT5 so many times for credits that at some point I fell in love with the track.
There is not much time to overthink the corners and I never care if I hit the corner right or not, I just get a kick out of the "Wow' that was a close" moments, lol.
