Just tried this in the GTR-LM NISMO, was loosing two seconds per lap to everyone in front of me.

Seriously PD? Like, come on, it's bad enough every race now is a rolling start version of the three lap battle series from GT4 (no pack, field spread out so basically every race is pick off one car one by one) - and then you give the derpy AI cars a tonne of horsepower out of nowhere? That's just cheap.

Right then...(cracks knuckles) anyone got a higher-speed tune for the GTR-LM? Or is it literally a case of just setting the gear to 230mph?

Managed it, had a field without the '05 Pescarolo, only just won running 1:23's every lap. If the Pescarolo had been there as it had been previously I'd have had to do at least low 1:22's, probably 1:21's to catch it. Stupid seasonal really because there's very few cars that are actually fast enough, and you have to use RH tyres which then don't have enough grip for the high end prototypes.

Cool a single player race where I have to push to the limit! Thanks PD!

To all the people crying here, stop complaing improve your lap times and tunes your cars better. It's called expert event after all.

GTR-LM NISMO? This race? What about a Fiat 500?
Change car!

I tried the C60 first when doing some test-laps, but I'm not really a fan of the way it handles. Since I was bored, I bought a GT-One and used the Praiano tune, softened the spring rate just a few lbs, and raised the final gear to 3.245... currently running 1:25's and not fast enough, but hey I gave it a go. Whether or not I keep going will depend on my patience, which this track really tests. I'm not having a lot of fun with it, really.

Edit: with 2x 1:25.4 ish laps, 2x 1.26's and a 1.27.6 I made it to 6th, with a bit of help from the walls occasionally and some dirty racing. It's a tough one!

Took a tuned 700 PP LMP car, did 1:26 as fastest lap and ended 11th, 35 seconds behond the leader. So I need to make up 7 seconds every lap. Really? 1:19 in a 700 PP car? How am I supposed to do that?

2nd try: 8th @ 26 seconds.
3rd: 8th @ 27 seconds.
4th: 10th @ 24 seconds.

They may be a little slower every time, but I really need to improve my lap times to win. 1:26 really seems to be my limit.

Err... There definitely either has to have been a mixup or something. We had this event like one month ago. Not that I can complain since I loved it.

But after putting in all those miles on that one, I'm grinding this one. TC1, SRF on with my trusty R92CP.

And... huh... 7:38 with 1:27s average laps. Wait a darn minute there...

I used Praiano's newest Hybride tune for the Apricot Hill seasonal, and made no changes. I spun once and bounced off the sides a few times, and also rearended some cars in front of me. I won by 2.1 seconds, with lap times in the low 1:23's and high 1:22's.

Hoping this may help someone as this is the "slowest" field I've found so far...

Cheers

I lost by five seconds setting low 1.24's. This event is nuts, I have improved leaps and bounds over the last year and can't win.

I like the challenge in this one, but damn, it's tough.

Getting low 23s to a few high 22s (hybride) and I still haven't been higher than 3rd.

I just need to find that one perfect run with mid to high 22s. No pressure...

*gulp!*

Disappointing. The only reason I'm hanging onto my ps3 is this game. Only time I really play is after an update and after new seasonals come out.

I beat it with the Hybride, car is faster with traction control off. Not going to be grinding here or doing this race again. The intermediate seasonal with expert competition would have been way a way more fun expert seasonal.

Wow, seriously PD? I had to do a double take when I saw it on the menu. I thought I was dreaming.
This is stupid. Not even trying.

FINALLY. Used the old Praino tune listed above, but didn't change the oil and used the mid turbo. On the third attempt, FINALLY the C60 Hybride didn't show up and I was able to win. I have to say though, may God have mercy on your soul if you draw the Toyota 7 in the first 3 positions and you even BREATHE near him. Instantly gains Racing Super Soft tires and a 500 shot of nitrous for the next 60 seconds. Ended up winning by 3 seconds WITH A DS3, 7:25 total time.

I am in full agreement with ALB123. You would think PD could come up with something new. I myself prefer some of the tracks from GT4 and GT5. They brought back Mid Field, why can they not bring back some of the others for a nice change instead of the same thing over and over gain.

If they brought back Seattle I'd be happy! I miss those big downhill jumps...

Pescarolo with Praiano's tune or Mazda LM55. Read the thread there's a link somewhere, just skip the lame baby craying "seriously?" "really?" comments.

And this is what racing should be about. Give 110% and still struggle to win, this is how it is in real life.

I had a lot of fun running it in the Mazda LM55. Finally won in it. I found playing with the downforce to be the key for me. I settled on 589 Front and 780 Rear. Might have kicked the roll bars up one level and set rear brake at 6. On the differential I set front end to all 5's and left the rear 10-40-20.

Damn this one is hard, it took me 5 attempts to beat it, and on a game where I usually get gold the first lap, that's crazy. This event is almost too hard. More and more I'm thinking PD is forcing us DS3 users to buy a wheel set-up. Anyway, enough crying, done and done.

Kind of disappointed for PDI's lack of creativity -- last Expert seasonal was the same track but in Reverse, same PP limit too. It's just that the other one was difficult, this one is DIFFICULT. First of all you are forced to use RH tires which give a huge difference in grip, both during and after corners (especially after them, mostly noticeable if you use RWD cars... and almost all competitive ones for this event are in fact RWDs). I really feel this much more like the 3 lap Driving Missions from GT4. Not really a race -- more like a "let's see what you've got when we put ridiculous rabbits against you"...

I always dispised GT6 for having almost no races with a standing start -- that IMO ruins a bit the rac-y feel and makes the events feel much more like a police chase -- get the "robber" before the time (or the track, that is) runs out. And I really hate when they come out with such things.

I tried everything... I kinda give up.

PESCAROLO C60 HYBRIDE-JUDD
With Praiano's tune and minimal adjustments it won last seasonal with (almost) no problems, so I thought I'd give a try. Best I could get is 2nd place, just some minutes before writing this stuff... approached the leading C60 Hybride-Judd, lightly hit its rear wing and then ROCKET POWER! it literally flew away like it had nitrous or so. I'm currently using @shaunm80's Pescarolo tune, just with zero camber and front ARB set to 4. Works nice but has a tendency to become unstable around 350 km/h, especially when braking.

MAZDA LM55 VGT
This thing CAN do it, though I'm a null in tuning and I simply can't figure out what to change. 4WD, lots of power and a 8 (!!!) speed gearbox are perfect for a city track, but I feel this thing waaaay more understeery than it should to behave correctly around here... Any suggestions? I firmly think that with the right setup, this is going to run faster times than the Pescarolo...

DELTAWING '13
Thought it could have been a good choice since it's small and zippy... but nope. Zero steering abilities, even with the "better-steering" tunes that we have here at GTP.

MONSTER SPORT SX4
So I went for something crazier. Makes for some VERY fun laps especially with a 35:65 torque split, but it's much more of a showoff car for powersliding... Could try the Escudo and see what happens, probably?

CHAPARRAL 2X VGT
Since the "fan-car" 2J is rather impractical in a city track due to its dumb 3-speed gearbox, I thought of detuning this thing, but again, power-limiting on this laser-driven thingy just reduces throttle-controlled downforce and adds a huge amount of understeer... Not suited.

PEUGEOT VGT
Since the time-trial for it was on the same track, I thought why not. But nope. Massive understeer means low corner entry speed... and you're screwed.

That MINOLTA Toyota 88C-V '89 you won the race with, I use a G27 wheel to win with it and I found it was hard also after several attempts.

This is definitely a difficult race. Especially since I'm not as talented as I like to think I am. I do suggest that you stick with it however. I was eventually able to gold using a 787B Stealth with a Praiano tune. I had to discover places to push ever so slightly harder than I originally thought I possible.
Good luck!

Mike

I attempted this with several types (high power, low weight, etc), never got better than 5th. Last time in reverse won this with the Chapparal Vision, used it again and still could not get past 5th. Frustrating race.

The 2X and LM55 have brought me to second place, but the Hybride gives me first every time.

I'll try messing around with other cars.

Although I'm not a fan of this track, or PD's lack of creativity, I'm glad they actually gave us a challenge this week.

Edit: I detuned the 2X by reducing power to 50%, and using the minimum ballast to achieve 700 pp. Maybe I should max ballast and increase power?

Mine is max ballast and min power......maybe I should switch? lol
Hmmm, with 143kg ballast, you can get 452 hp, with 1.31 kg/hp. At 200 kg ballast, 527 hp for 1.23 kg/hp. Move the ballast to the rear, and you get 536 hp for 1.21 kg/hp.

Of course, this should also increase downforce.

Ok, I gotta try it!
